Hidden gem! This place used to be an antique shop but now is this great coffee shop w lots of Latin America inspiration. I had the Chan. It’s hibiscus tea w chia seeds. Great tasting and healthy! The service was helpful and easy going. Off the beaten path and has a patio so dog friendly. Come here to read relax or get work done.

Excellent new coffee shop! I love to see Houston getting new places like this for coffee! Coffee was tasty, Lots of room, very friendly staff and fast internet! The one down fall was the muffin wasn’t fresh must have been a day or two old. Was very firm and not moist for 9am. Check your food items before purchase!

Beautiful space, great artwork, delicious coffee, homey vibe… I loved everything about the atmosphere here. Nice outdoor space too. Lots of unique coffee options, and with Latin flavor! I’m definitely coming back!

All the culture and personality of the Montrose neighborhood(not the wave of rich yuppies, but the actual Montrose heart, the artsy, funky personality) flows through this place. This old home has been converted to a warm, inviting coffee house and furnished like a home, so it feels like youre having a cuppa at your grandmas house. I love it. Here are some pics.

I almost hesitate to write this review because this place is destined to become a bustling, popular coffee spot in Houston, and another glowing Unilocal review can only contribute to that. The coffee was great(I’m not a coffee snob so I’ll leave a nuanced review of their coffee to others), but living just one block away, I am so excited to have a place like this in the area. The comfy seating arrangements, antique pieces, Latin influences, and plethora of outlets will have me coming back!

It is grand opening weekend, and Campesino is doing quite well! There is quite a crowd here on this pleasant Saturday afternoon. Fortunately, there is plenty of seating and outlets to accommodate everyone. Today I have sampled(and ordered) and Café de Olla, which is the coffee of the day, mixed with cinnamon, a little bit of sugar, and other spices. It’s $ 3.50 for a mug & free refills, and absolutely refreshing! I have to be honest and confess that I did not grow up drinking coffee this way, but Campesino makes me wish I did. With the homey atmosphere and friendly staff, Campesino is reminiscent of some of my favorite coffee shops — which means it will probably get crowded in no time at all. I am happy that there is another coffee shop in the area, though! If anything, this will(hopefully) help to diffuse the coffee-crazy crowd across the Montrose neighborhood!

My new go to place for coffee. Typically, when I order any lattes it is very bitter where I have the need to add a few sugar packets. However, this wasn’t the case for my vanilla latte. The entrance and décor is so welcoming. The choice of colors, furniture, and plenty of seating inside and out fits really well. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Brand new coffee shop in the heart of Montrose. Yes, we know, Montrose is saturated with coffeeshops. Hell, Blacksmith is literally around the corner, and another handful are within walking distance. So what makes Campesino stand out? For one, this bomb a** horchata iced latte freshly created right in front of you as you order(They also have a café de olla on the menu). Secondly, if I could describe the atmosphere and interior design in one word, it would by «cozy.» Seems like it was an old house back in the day and was remodeled to fit in a crowd of 62ish occupants. Think Komodo’s in midtown. The outdoor area is in the perfect spot to catch of couple of rays but not be completely blinded by the sun. Looking forward to their grand opening!

Make way to Montrose for a fresh, unique take on Latin coffee culture — just for Houstonians. As the owner Geronimo V told me, Campesino Coffee House isn’t quite for coffee purists. It’s all about sipping Latin-style drinks, «the ones you did growing up at your abuela’s house» — café de olla, café con leche, cortadito, maya mocha latte, horchata iced latte, chan, vampiro juice … thirsty yet? They plan on rotating out their Central and South American coffee brands, all from local roasters here in Houston. There’s also a food menu with various Latin sandwiches; currently the menu offers the following: Puerco Pibil Torta(Mexico), a Cubano(Cuba), Pan Con Pollo(El Salvador), Veggie Press(Montrose!). They have awesome Latin music playing in the background, free wi-fi, PLENTY of seating throughout the house, bike racks, a patio and parking. It’s the perfect spot to grab a drink with a group of friends, work on the laptop(plenty of outlets) or sit solo and relax with a book. Please support this local, unpretentious coffee house.

I got a coffee con leche and it was pretty good. The shop itself is very cute, lots of tables/chairs, sofa’s and general seating. The service was great and they were very friendly. I will def be coming back to try more :)

Glad this place is finally close to opening. We already have plenty of coffees shops nearby but this one has a much cozier feel. In a small house, the shop provides an intimate setting with a small, well curated coffee and food list. We live VERY close so I’ll definitely become a regular.
