So this is my 3rd time here and this has been a terrible experience. First of all, I never expect to get any service to begin with like a hello or thank you after I paid. Second, whenever I ask what’s in the entrees, no one seems to be able to explain except by repeating ‘vegetables’. I know this is a vegetarian restaurant but what kind of vegetables may help. In the past, I have brought my leftover naan when I couldn’t finish it. Tonight, my naan came after I finished my plate. I couldn’t eat it anymore and asked the lady with glasses behind the register for a foil to wrap up. Her reply was, you can’t take naan away and must eat here. I explained to her that the naan came after I finished my meal and I don’t want to waste food. She just ignored me. I told her I have brought leftover naan in the past and if the restaurant has changed the policy recently. She said no policy and turned to help other customers. I am speechless and think the management can improve this. Perhaps there should be a note to state no leftover naan to go or something like that. There are plenty of other good vegetarian restaurants and I don’t look forward to returning.

They have a great selection of goodies here, but unfortunately, I have no clue what 99% of it is! Send help. But I DO know they have $ 1/piece for samosas that are large, and stuffed with potatoes and peas and curry flavor. They heat it back up for you when you order them so you have to wait a little bit, but they will stay crunchy and hot for awhile if you have to bring them places.

One of my favorite Indian place for chats and Indian sweets — very reasonably priced.

Tried the buffet, not bad! If you have the Indian food craving, the buffet will do the job. The naan was decent, the paneer and undiya were very good but the dal dokri, chana and rice were mediocre. The Kadi was delicious with the rice or naan but on its own, it is a bit salty. The salad bar is alright. For $ 7.99 per buffet, it is the best value for the selection. And the staff is super friendly. Will go back!

A bad experience on a funfilled new year eve. I ordered buffet because it had a good variety of food. Unfortunately fhe curris tasted very mediocre especially the paneer makhni and rajma. Both of them lacked the aroma of the Indian spices. Rajma tasted similar to beans cooked in tomato ketchup. It was indeed a dissappointing dinner. Dessert in the buffet had no luck. Jalebis in ala carte are served steaming hot where as the buffet served jalebis cold and hard. Will never come here again.

Bombay sweets is OK to satisfy a craving. They’re not cheap so I was expecting the food to be up a notch. The dosa we ate was really good … The vada was oily and just plain bad. Haven’t tried the sweets so can’t say anything about that. Wouldn’t hurt trying it but I’d be prepared to leave with mixed feelings.

Food is decent. However this place has a lot of work to do on hygiene and customer service. If there was a rating scale for hygiene in Unilocal I would have rated the 0. The owners at the counter need to start thinking customer service and start being courteous and customer oriented. The tables and the buffet area needs to be constantly kept clean.

Worst indian food ever. Would never go back. Ordered pav bhaji, vada pav, sev puri and aaloo Tolkien. Not even one of these was made correctly. Pav for bhaji and vada pav, were cheap Wal-Mart pav, instead of real indian pav. The shop is next to like 3 indian stores and hot breads, still served Wal-Mart burger bun. Chutney had artificial flavor of food coloring. Aaloo tikki was also not authentic and sev puri was not even having real puri. The most horrible indian food in houston.

We have been here a number of times and have tried almost everything here. While the chats are good, tge sweets are unpredictable, some of them are good while others are poor. The buffet is not great, but it is worth a try considering the reasonable price.

Cheap buffet. Food taste is barely OK. They do carry a wide variety of Indian savories and sweets if you are interested in any of it. The place has got cleaner than before. Do not expect customer service. That is one thing that you will not get at an Indian restaurant that operates like Bombay Sweets. It is a vegetarian restaurant so meat eaters, do not waste your time going there. They day my wife and I had a meal, it was average but we had a bloated feeling after eating just one round of the buffet. I feel that they add soda(baking bowder) in many of the curry’s dishes. Not planning to go back there.

I love coming here for samosas to-go. At about $ 1 a piece, they are perfect for football snacks or midnight snacks. Once you walk in, go to the back of the shop and marvel in all the sweet desserts they have to offer. And there is also a refrigerated sweets section too. Order your samosas with the cashier and hang around until they box them up. Forget the fruit and cheese platter or salad to bring to a party. Need a fresh and delicious idea? Come get some samosas. The taste is perfect: not too spicy, but full of flavor.

I love this place. I literally get cravings for Bombay Sweets! The buffet here is vegetarian, but it’s so authentic I don’t even feel like I’m missing out on meat. The price for the quality is also something to rave about! I believe it’s $ 7.99 for a buffet with naan to accompany your food. My personal favorites here are the Chana masala, saag paneer, and this tangy yellow turmeric dish. This place is a tiny, family owned place where its authenticity cannot be beat. They even play Bollywood tunes in the background. As far as ambiance goes, this place is no frills. You get your water from an igloo sports cooler, but this shouldn’t deter you. What they don’t spend on ambiance is made up for in the flavors and love they put into their food. Give this place a shot– at $ 7.99 you have nothing to lose and all the deliciousness to gain!

Sterling value. Went for dinner, got the $ 8 buffet. Heavily South Indian influence — including satvic dishes with no onion or garlic. I tried everything — twice — and found it all good or better. The saag paneer was mildly disappointing considering how brilliant some of the other dishes were, but it really wasn’t bad at all. Could’ve used more fenugreek, I suppose, and perhaps some heat… and the chunks of paneer had perhaps stayed too long on the steam table… they’d become rather tough and rubbery. Nevertheless, i ate plenty of the saag paneer, too, because despite it being the weakest dish on the buffet, it was still pretty darn good — quibbles aside. get a mango, sweet, or salt lassi. i only had the mango, but it was great — and i bet the other lassi are excellent.

Please don’t give this place any business. First off, food is decent. And that’s where the good part stops. Place is poorly lit, workers stare at you the wrong way all the time, bugs fly around and land in your food, and they’re so freaking strict on letting your take the food that you already have on your plate home with you. So cheap. Give your hard-earned cash to some other business that actually deserves it. Please.

If you want good Indian food, don’t come here. But if you’re on a budget and would settle for mediocre vegetarian curries, then maybe… The buffet is 7.99 a plate and there’s about 3 different types of curries. It also comes with Naan, rice, salad and many other things. However, I prefer quality over quantity. The Naan was bland and burned. The curries were disappointing –Either too salty, too sour, or too buttery. Everything was just sad. So sad. There’s a lot of Indian restaurants around here so i would much rather go eat somewhere else.

If there is a option on –ve stars, will give 1000-ve stars. These guys are cheats of highest level. Have purchased Chickpeas fry, Dhokla, kesar rasmalai and rasgolla. 1. All stuff were stale 2. Dhokla was like a solid brick and becomes powder if you try to eat. 3. According to Bombay sweets, if they add milk and yellow colour to rasgolla it will be Kesar Rasmalai. For that they will charge $ 3 premium. 4. Their Rasgolla is like golf balls, if they can improve their cooking standards we can actually play golf with them. 5. Chickpeas(bengal gram) fry. Each chickpea I can replace a practice gun shots. i think they didn’t even soaked them before frying them(is water so expensive for you?). Have to throw away everything. To conclude, have wasted $ 25 for my Indian food cravings, would have got some blessing if have donated them to poor. When I try calling them and complain, they ignore as if they can’t hear. Would’nt recommend anyone to visit them and poor non Indian souls I pity you have to taste this shit in the name of Indian cuisine. For heavens sake pl close your shop and stop cheating people.

I haven’t tried the buffet but I would probably stay away from that especially since last time my family went they got upset stomachs from eating the buffet. However, I LOVE their dosas. I love the fact they are so huge and for a reasonable price. For those who don’t know what dosas are, they are basically crepes with seasoned potatoes inside. This is my go to place for dosas! However, people who are not used to the environment of Indian and Pakistani restaurants should be aware that this place is pretty dingy and dirty. So if you are someone who is really into sanitation, or at least the appearance of cleanliness, you should probably stay away. Obviously my rating is based purely on the dosas so take it for what it’s worth.

One of my indian friends introduced me and a couple of other friends to this place. I’ve heard about it before but I feel a little out of place going to an indian place by myself. I’m definitely familiar with indian cuisine and it was fun to introduce our other friends who were newbs! There’s a lot of different items around the store. They all look appetizing! Our group had the mysore masala dosas. It comes with a soup and 2 dipping sauces; a cold sweet sauce with coconut flavor and a spicy chutney. Delicious! The dosas were HUGE. I didn’t care for much of the the sweet sauce though. We also had samosas and these were good too. I like the tamarind sauce with my dosa. I was impatient that day and actually burned the roof of my mouth pretty bad. It’s been 4 days and I’m finally healed! I will definitely try to come back on my own or with my indian friend again! She can speak hindu and it helps out a lot!
