Our first time eating here for lunch, I think its pretty pricey but not good for the value that you can get like Zaney’s. The spicy garlic chix bento I thought was alright but they put a too much spicy and my bf got the furikake salmon and a s/o garlic chix he was quite disappointed b/c the fish was pretty small portion we both were expecting it to big at least!

Quality food for a reasonable price. Not cheap, but reasonable. The spicy garlic chicken has the right amount of heat, not too much, not too little. Garlic ahi is also good and like the previous poster said, «you can have it your way.» The sauce is great and maybe overpowers the garlic flavor but it’s sooo good! Nice to also have your choice of brown or white rice at no extra charge. When are other establishments going to realize that more and more folks want this choice and don’t want to be charged extra for it??? You also get your choice of mac salad, green salad or poke. Always went with the poke, hard to beat. Prices are fair with most everything under $ 10. I hope those folks that have been giving Zippys four or five stars try eating here. WAY better value for your buck. Follow up to my original review: Food’s still good but I think they’re going through some staff changes and reevaluating the amount of food they give. The last few times I came here they were missing things from my bento. Not small stuff but major, the hot dog, the sauce for the fish, kinda scary. On top of that the quantity being given has dropped a bit so the value thing isn’t what it was in the beginning. But taste wise, still hard to beat.

I’ve been to Yosh at least a dozen times, and I still can’t get past the Garlic Ahi($ 6.99). Sure, you don’t get the biggest piece of fish. But it’s about the quality here, not the quantity of food on the plate. Back to the ahi. Plates come with a choice of white or brown rice, and you can choose between tossed salad, macaroni salad and ahi poke. You also get to tell them how you want your fish prepared. And the sauce… ONO!!! I always end up dipping the ahi poke in it, then pour whatever is left over the rice after I finish eating the fish. Lots of choices, including bentos and mixed plates. You can order ahi poke, pipikaula and more from the display case as well. Best lunchtime pick in Restaurant Row. Reasonably affordable, and better tasting than Subway, that sorta-new Chinese takeout joint and the mediocre plate lunch place. TIP: Park in the Restaurant Row structure, then get your ticket validated at the counter. You get two hours free with that validation.
