I came in never being here before and the guy didn’t really help with what to pick and recommended everything on the menu :/I ordered the Wahoo’s Sandwich with Chicken and spicy version and fries. The food was okay. The chicken was a little dry. My plate seemed like I had just as much lettuce as I did fries. It wasn’t anything special. There is a small possibility that I will come back because the service was very good and my food came pretty quick but order something different and hope it taste better than this. They might be having an off day or something. However, I wouldn’t recommend this place to a friend because like I said before nothing special.

When I was an undergrad student the happy hour chicken nachos at Wahoos were a way of life. The heaping plate of chips and cheese literally fed 3 of us. Now that there are better Mexican options on O’ahu I stopped coming here. Until yesterday. We decided to pick up something quick and take it to Ala Moana beach park. I ordered a standard spicy chicken burrito that I really enjoyed! My roommate ordered a steak salad(she didn’t love it). The tables next to us got nachos, jealous! His friend had a heaping combo plate. It was burrito and enchilada plate with red sauce and cheese over the top! It looked seriously delicious and yes I had FOMO(fear of missing out). I’m a fan of their iced tea, open seating, parking and the happy hour menu looks amazing! There is a serious disconnect at the register. Ayah was the name on my receipt. She was slow to answer questions, not friendly and didn’t ask us if our food was for here or to go. So we stayed and enjoyed the air conditioning. I will definitely be back soon to try that delicious giant burrito/enchilada combo plate!

Worst service ever. There’s a line, but when someone decides to walk straight up the to register they disregard the line and just take that persons order. Will not be returning.

The food was pretty dry. The chips and salsa was nothing special. Their food deserves a 1 but I gave it a 2 because of friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I got a cheese quesadilla with pork inside and the pork was so dry. They need to add taste. There was no pepper or salt on the pork. I would not recommend this place. Only go here for some nice beers and soft drinks. Wahoo’s did not impress me at ALL! –Food Captain

Pretty good for a chain. Hard to go wrong with fish tacos I used to go to one in Colorado all the time. The one here in Honolulu is good too

We stopped here to grab a quick lunch before seeing a movie. The service was fast and the staff was friendly. There were many menu items to choose from, and they had all my favorite Mexican beers on draft. The portions are quite large, so two people with a moderate appetite could easily split a burrito plate. I found the fish tacos and burritos weren’t as flavorful as I would have hoped, but not bad. My fiancé seemed to enjoy his carne asada burrito. I give this place 4 stars because of the staff and atmosphere, but if you’re looking for great food, this probably isn’t the best spot.

We have been here so many times! I can’t believe I have yet to write a review for this place! This place is famous for their wahoo fish tacos, but there is so much other good stuff on their menu. My favorite dish is the chicken bowl with teriyaki. So good! Hubby is making his way through their happy hour(5 – 7) menu. Tonight he had the $ 8 meat nachos with chicken. Literally the biggest pile of nachos I have ever seen! The service here is fantastic, everyone is super nice. Ordering is quick and easy at the counter, and the food is brought out to your table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, complete with tiki torches :) This place is great!

Last night my sweetie & I had ventured back to Spero Spera, only to find out they were closed early due to Thanksgiving eve! :(Boo! So we had to come up with a plan«B», and this is where Wahoo’s Fish Tacos came into play! Lucky for us, as we walked into the joint, we noticed a sign for the Wednesday special!!! What is the Wednesday special? Here it is gang… it’s $ 2 taco nights, and you can either get it with fish or chicken! We ordered(4) four spicy fish tacos, and ended up with a extremely cheap $ 8 dollar dinner! Yay for an inexpensive meal! Lol! So what can I say about the $ 2 tacos? I gotta say it was an extremely great deal! The fish was pretty sizable, and it was loaded with cut cabbage, tomatoes & cheese. The spicy sauce was pretty good too… There is no table service. You go to the counter to order your food, they will give you a table number, and when your food is ready, they will bring it out to you. They do serve alcohol, and there is an open soda fountain too! So would I come back to Wahoo’s Fish Tacos for Wahoo Wednesday $ 2 tacos? Sure thing man! Lol! Also as a bonus, there was live entertainment! And I must say the dude(Brian Keith Espiritu) who was singing that night was pretty talented too!

More of a surf and turf feel rather than a «Mexican» place. They do have tacos and burritos but I wouldn’t describe it as Mexican… Anyways. I really like their salads here. They are really big and filling because they include lots of rice and beans and choice of meat if you want, including fish. I enjoy their salad dressings too, especially the roasted pepper one! Def not too spicy! The staff is very friendly, they always make me feel welcome… oh yeah and I like when they play the laidback music here rather than«club» music lol. Cause sometimes they do and it seems off with the atmosphere. I love the live music nights! I love that they are open late, it’s when I usually come!

Waaaaahhhoooooo! Where should we go on a Sunday night when other stuff is closed? Where should we go when I’m craving burritos and my friend wants a drink? Where should we go when we want to use our iDcard to get a discount? Waaaahooooooos! This place is a staple backup place of mine. That’s not to say it isn’t good; the food is pretty good, and it’s a relaxed atmosphere. I’ve just eaten here so many times that I only go when I can’t think of where else to go. They have pretty good burritos, tasty but Americanized enchiladas, and beer and margaritas easily accessible. They often have live music, which is cool but tends to be loud if you’re sitting outside. I like it because it’s almost like a fast food joint, but you can stay for longer and just chill. You do your own refills on soda and water, so you don’t get waited on, really, but I’m usually impressed with the friendly staff. They do have an iDcard discount(I think it’s 15% off, all da time!), so if you have one, don’t forget! Wahoooo!

Consistently good food with fresh ingredients. Good and friendly service. I love the fact that they always have the AC cranking.

I was super excited to try this place. Fish tacos have become one of my favorites lately. We walked in and weren’t rushed to order. After studying the menu, I went for the Maui Bowl. My husband got the #2 with the white beans and rice. For our little one the kids quesadilla with fries. We decided to go with water to drink and the grand total was around 30.00. We sat down outside and our order came to us in about 10 minutes. Nicely plated and the food looked appetizing. There was just one problem. It wasn’t nearly good as it looked. Granted the teriyaki steak was good in my Maui bowl, but the beans were not fully cooked and were lacking flavor for both of our dishes. The fish tacos were ok. I think the best food out of our order was the little ones quesadilla. The fries were crispy and the plate was cleaned of any food lol. I would have to say it wouldn’t be a place I would come back to. I would recommend North shore tacos if you want fish tacos that are juicy and full of flavor(not to mention you can get them with ahi) for about the same price.

Delicious! I try to stop in to get something when I’m in this side of town. They really need to have more locations!

I really love coming to Wahoo’s for happy hour, which is everyday from 3 – 7! You can get $ 12 margaritas or $ 8 pitchers of beer! What a deal. On the food side, there can be some improvements. I ordered the Bazai bowl with tofu and the beans were uncooked and hard. Tofu was flavorless but the portion was huge. I will defintely be back to give it another try!

I think I’ve put off reviewing Wahoos because my experiences have varied each visit but it’s finally time… & it’s pretty good news! I’m not saying this is the best Mexican I’ve had or anything like that but Wahoos has some delicious burrito, bowl and drinks selections to put a little olé in your step. I’m usually your basic taco girl but I will say for the money, I recommend going for a burrito — huge, filling and tasty! You get to pick from fish, chicken, pork etc all cooked in different styles. The plates come with rice & beans(I always prefer getting real beans to retried beans) which aren’t half bad but a little costly. I myself am a bit picky with my sides so I like to order from the ala carte menu. Awesome selection and all at a really reasonable cost. This last time around I had a work training in the area and during our lunch break, we headed over here. I ordered a pork enchilada with a spicy green sauce from the ala carte menu for under $ 4 and paired it with two beers of the month, which are only $ 3.50 a glass and just so happened to be Corona; perfect mexican pairing! I wasn’t sure what I was expecting from my enchilada but it was exactly what I was looking for: the pork was flavorful and I found it well filled. The sauce had a great kick [I did add some hot sauce but I love me some spicy food!] and drenched the whole plate. It was thick which I liked, almost creamy. All the textures made for a nice little afternoon snack and paired with the beers — very filling. We actually wound up coming back here after our training ended and got more enchiladas to go for dinner at home. The value and price were excellent! I like that they have indoor and outdoor sitting. There is something very refreshing about the best of the sun while you sip on an ice cold beer and look at the going ons of Honolulu around you. My favorite time to come is HAPPYHOUR which happens to be everyday from 3 – 7. They have $ 8 pitchers and a bunch of discounts on appetizer snacks like taquitos, sweet potato fries and nachos. Oh, they also have a margarita with a coronita in it that is only $ 7 during happy hour, normally $ 12. I love it! This is probably the best time to come for the value. If you come on Friday nights they often have live music as well. Like I said at the beginning, not the most authentic food in the world but still tasty, chill atmosphere and some good beverages.

It’s no chipotle… The blend of mexican with fresh seafood just doesn’t do well with how Wahoo does it. I have been here twice and both times were disappointing.

After a long morning of running errands, I was starving and needed to eat ASAP. I decided to give Wahoo’s another try. I had eaten here once awhile back, but didn’t remember loving or hating it. I ordered the Classic Burrito: Grilled steak, cheese, lettuce, salsa and added on sour cream. While the portions are HUGE, this over-sized burrito was extremely hard to eat and failed to overwhelm my taste buds. In all honesty, Taco Bell serves an equivalent, if not better, tasting burrito without the hassle of falling apart at the seams. At a steep $ 9.94, I expected my taste buds to be stimulated, as if bathed in a vat of pure ecstasy. Sadly, it was only okay. Chips and Salsa with add on guacamole: The guac was surprisingly good, but nothing amazing can be said about its salsa counterpart. Overall, underwhelming and not worth the inflated $ 6.10 price tag. Bottom line: The food is all right, but extremely overpriced. Nothing to write home about. My taste buds left this place woefully underwhelmed. Wahoo’s gets stars for the speedy and somewhat friendly service(blasé girl behind the counter could use some lessons in unconditional positive regard).

There is plenty of parking but it can get crowded in the lot during peak hours so be patient. Indoor and outdoor seating pretty cool. The place is clean and has a nice casual feel. They sell beer which is always a plus however… I am NOT happy with the service or quality of food. This place is overprice for what you get. The portion sizes are decent however, they got our order wrong and even when I addressed the situation with the manager who honestly couldn’t have cared less; it was only after I’d persisted that they took the incorrect item off of the check. Seriously?! You get my order wrong then I must go after you and nearly demand that you correct the situation?! Not okay, ever. In summary; the flavor and quality of the food was sub-par and the quality of service was poor. Never again.

Gave my friends at Wahoo’s another go & this time tried the chicken enchilada and the shrimp tacos. Tacos are still teeny tiny, but the shrimp was quite tasty! Highlight of the meal for sure. The enchilada. :(actually, I should say«enchilada» had the consistency of a soft taco/burrito. It was more of a chicken wrap. Im used to enchiladas being a yellowish color. I’m actually wondering now if the server put my order in correctly, because I’m thoroughly convinced that wasn’t an enchilada. Anyway, I asked again about that green sauce and she asked me if I wanted them to pour it all over my enchilada and I said«Yes, please!» This salvaged it a little, but still kinda disappointed. Plus, the cilantro rice I was raving about before wasn’t as great tonight. I’m trynna love this place somehow Cuz it’s really close to home, but it’s pulling my leg. The service, though! Different lady this time, same polite & awesome service. The girls here are way sweet! :)
