FULLDISCLOSURE: This was my first UYE, so of course I have to give it 5 stars. Ah, it feels good to be loved. And I certainly felt the good vibrations that night, especially from all the amazing singers. I feel the drink specials offered by Air Park helped as well. This is my go to spot for karaōke, as the songs are free in the lounge with drink purchases from the bar. What made the usual karaōke pit stop more enjoyable was being surrounded by the elite of Unilocal.I have finally joined their ranks. Where’s my card? To celebrate my unexpected induction into the halls of Unilocal Elitedom, I turned to the folks at Air Park to hook it up. They generously offered a $ 10 discount on drink orders of $ 30 or more. The drinks flowed, just like the spice from Dune, for all you Frank Herbert fans. Thank you to everyone who came out to help me celebrate my new found status as a Unilocal Elite. I know with great power comes great responsibility. That’s why there’s Air Park Karaōke. Sing with me, sing it for the year, sing for the laughter and sing it for the tear! I’m actually a horrible singer, I just go HAM.

You will always be a part of me indefinitely. Oh baby you can’t shake me, you will always be my baby. Yup, I sang this at this event. Congratulations Eric B on getting elite status. You know right, that I would not stay out this late, go karaōke and actually sing karaōke for just anyone right? Great people and good times!

Awesome UYE put on by the one and only Eric B! I know he likes this place since I always see those check-ins and photos he posts with friends. And yes, if you went to Air Park Karaōke I’m sure you will like it too! It was quite cool to meet some new people and enjoy music and drinks and stuffs. I actually didn’t have any alcohol knowing I was going out to meet a few friends after. I was only here for about an hour and a half before I bounced but i got in several songs! Who needs to have a drink before belting out?! I love the choice of songs people were putting in and that everyone was having fun singing along to other people’s songs. I got to belt it out with Victoria M, Lien V, Maggie T, John N, Eric and a couple of his friends. Thanks for not judging my horrid singing… I just like to sing! Thank you to Nadine C. for that fantastic yummy cake and Hoku T. for letting me grab a banana lumpia on my way out! It was so delicious! I normally steer away from anything with cooked bananas but I just had to try! Can’t wait for the next event so hopefully I can come!

How do you decide to go to a UYE? I had a hard time, so my nerdy, non-techie self got out a piece of paper, drew a line down the middle, and wrote out the pros and cons: PRO: I secretly enjoy karaōke. It’s in my blood… that’s how my parents met — my mom was singing in a band and my dad wanted her to sing in his band… the rest is history. All of my biological sisters sing karaōke, too. One of them sings«angry female songs», one sings mellow ballads, and the youngest one sings alternative rock. We like to sing with different people and learn new songs to add to our repertoire. PRO: being around«young people» like Eric, Arynn, Victoria, Cathy, and Travis — and hearing/seeing/learning songs that I’ve never heard before! Eric knew the owner, Kylee, and introduced us to her & her husband! Paul stopped by before his workout & added fun & energy to our group! CON: My pal, Li Y. and new pals Wayne C., Lyla, and Ric C. were not able to attend. Miss them a lot. :( PRO: New pals Maggie T. and Lien V. were coming with me! Boy, can they sing! Lien sang Madonna’s «La Isla Bonita» and Maggie did a great Adele — if I closed my eyes, I wouldn’t be able to tell if it was the CD playing«Someone Like You». PRO: «FREE» parking; Hello Kitty drinks(the bartender gave me the«last straw». I’ll have to bring it back so I can try another one); opportunity to try a new place with different sound system & song selections; helping Eric celebrate his new ELITESTATUS — congratulations! CON: I had to leave early to go to work. PRO: Eric promised to have another karaōke event — maybe in June and for sure in July to celebrate Maggie’s birthday!

Hi, my name is Paul C. and I am a food whore. Yes, I admitted it. I also would like to apologize as just like earlier tonight at the CMYE Red Ribbon Party for the AIDS Walk, for this UYE I clicked on «Sounds Cool» but was lured by fellow Elite Nadine C.‘s posting of her wine cake for Wayne C. who unfortunately was under the weather and cancelled tonight. I previously was fortunate to have sampled Nadine’s butter cake which was AMAZING. So, when I rushed home to do some family stuff after the CMYE I was just about to head to the gym. When I joked with Nadine by sending her a compliment of «Hey, where’s my piece?» and she replied«Come down, I’ll save you a slice.» The next thing I know, I was in my car driving to Air Park Karaōke. I’m not much a fan of karaōke as you pretty much need to get me drunk to sing. I am self-conscious of my singing as I am easily embarrassed. But then I remembered this is Eric B.‘s first UYE since becoming an Elite(congrats Eric!!!). I remember when I first co-hosted my first UYE last year with Jo Y. and worried about not many attending. But when people came to our UYE I was thrilled and so thankful of the support so it’s the right thing to do by supporting your fellow Yeeps! I was amazed on how well my fellow Yeeps can sing! They were pretty much entering songs and all ready for their turn! Then the highlight of tonight’s singing — — John N. sat next to me and asked«Have you ever heard Cathy T. rap before?» I was like«Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat???» Then it was Cathy T.‘s turn and on the TV screen I saw«Empire State of Mind» by Jay Z and Alicia Keys. I was in awe at first and then the spotlight on Cathy T. — - DANG! The girl can rap!!! She had back-up by Victoria M. and the next thing I know I started to bob my head. I would also like to thank Hoku T. for bringing banana lumpia for us to eat. It was delicious with a hint of cinnamon! While getting my lumpia it was cool to see Paul R., whom I met earlier this year at Denise K.‘s UYE Hanauma Bay Rock Bridge. You just gotta realize he’s really cool because his name is PAUL!!! :P I will admit I was embarrassed tonight as host Eric B. came to thank me for attending. He commented that he met me previously several weeks ago at the Unilocal Kicks Butt event Team Move. Sorry Eric as I totally forgot about meeting you several weeks ago. Come to think about it, Eric B. sat next to me earlier at the CMYE Red Ribbon Party for AIDS Walk creating posters! You are awesome bro. My attendance to this UYE was cut short as I had to rush to the YMCA for my workout. Tonight was my cardio night and had to get in at least a 45 min workout before closing. I had a great time tonight. Like I mentioned before, UYE’s are great because you get to know your fellow Unilocalers better!
