I work nearby and always looking for good healthy«eats» I ordered the DUKE, some chips and Kombucha(WASPERPS!) I enjoyed sitting outside on the sidewalk eating and chatting with a good friend. It is a cozy place with delicious food and a relaxing environment with great service! Mahalo

I love being able to write five start reviews! This is for the sproutwich vegan burger. I just recently started trying to eat mostly vegetarian(for the planet) and– as a meat lover– find it pretty frustrating, especially when eating out. I find that a lot of vegetarian options on restaurant menus are just plain lackluster. Not the sproutwich burger! With avocado and bbq sauce on top of a moist black bean patty it’s full a robust flavors and has a great consistency. It was also well flavored without being too salty. Bravo! New favorite sandwich. Oh– the waiting time was semi ridiculous(15 minutes or so) but since it has that hippy vibe I couldn’t be grumpy and it’s Saturday so I just stood in the sunshine. And they have a water cooler with lemon lime water so you can stay hydrated while you wait and little touches are always nice.

I had lunch there just yesterday. The yogi was the sandwich of choice. Omg! Loved it. The ladies are always in a great mood, very accommodating & fast.

Sprout is located in Kaimuki next to Jewel or Juice/the crack seed store. It’s pretty easy to find and lots of metered parking is available in the back lot. I ordered the floater which has turkey, apples, brie cheese, and pickled onions. Anyone who loves brie will love this sandwich. Personally I thought there was too much turkey and onions. Although the flavors of the sandwich worked really well together, it was overpowered by those flavors. It could be balanced out with adding a little more apples? My bf ordered the sproutwich, which is their signature vegan patty. It tastes similar to the vegan patty at Kuaaina but Sprout’s was much better. Although it doesn’t taste like meat, it’s definitely a good alternative if you’re not feeling carnivorous. The only downside to this place is the lack of available seating. There is one small counter inside that will seat 3 – 4 and two small tables outside. Unfortunately the outside tables are in direct sunlight so you’ll be eating while squinting your eyes at the sun. Lots of people got their food to go but sometimes you just really want to sit down and enjoy your meal.

Whenever I need a «sandwich» pick me up, I head over to Sprouts. They are located on waialae and kokohead avenue, although they don’t have a designated parking lot, there’s plenty of street parking available nearby. I mean it is Kaimuki! The shop itself is very small, with 4 inside chairs and 2 tables right outside. It’s really more of a grab & go. To prevent waiting in a line, which there always seems to be, you can pre-order online to pick up. My personal fave is the Yogi! All veggies and no meat. By no means, am I a vegetarian but every once in a while I do TRY to eat clean. The best thing about this place is the portion! I never seem to be able to finish the whole sandwich in one sitting! Everything is made when you order, so you know everything is pretty fresh. They also sell organic drinks and regular chips for those of us that need that extra crunch. The people here are always so friendly and cheery that it makes getting lunch an enjoyable experience! If I had to say a downside to the place, it would really be only ONE thing, which is price. All the sandwiches range from $ 8 – 10. For the same price you really could go to subway and buy a meal. But for me, it’s the deliciousness and great customer service that brings me back every time!

For someone who don’t care much for sandwich this place has won me over. I love the simple and fresh ingredients. I tried their original vegetarian sandwich and loved it grilled on their ciabatta bread. I was too full to finish so I ate my leftover hours later and it was still delicious and the bread still firm. I also tried their lemonade and it was OK for the price. Probably wouldn’t order their lemonade but would definitely come back to try their variety of fresh sandwiches.

I’m glad I found this place! I’ve only ordered the Sproutwich and Big Kahtuna so far and am looking forward in trying their other sandwiches. If they fall short on your order, they make it right and that’s service! No surprises! Cool thing is, when I walk in and wait, I feel I am back home in the East Bay grabbing a bite somewhere on College Avenue, love the music! Can’t wait til they expand their hours or bigger location!

I arrived around 10:30am on a Saturday morning. There was only one customer inside the small shop besides me. I looked up at the chalkboard to read their specials and decided upon a Fonz. Well you ask what is that? It is a prosciutto, pastrami, salami, fresh olive tapenade, greens, house mayo, and pickled red onion sandwich. I was greeted by a cheery woman. I noticed there was rap music playing on in the background, and 3 other employees including her totaling four. I had informed her I had to catch the bus, and if my sandwich would be ready real soon. She said of course, and turned back around to talk to her employees and started dancing in the back. At this point, I started sweating a bit. The bus going to Hawaii Kai is not frequent so checking the app notifies me on its arrival. I watched as they assembled my sandwich. One girl toasted the ciabatta, the second squeezed the tapenade. The third dressed the bread with the meat, and fourth wrapped the sandwich. I get it team work. I’m all for that. What frustrated me was the slowness and unprofessionalism that was delivered. They all were just talking, and walking, dancing around watching the other put it together. I kept reminding her that I was in a hurry, and that it was coming. I can’t imagine a lunch rush here, or it being located in a business district with employees not moving in a timely manner. Well, when it was finally wrapped she just handed it to me. I looked at her, and her response was, «did you want a bag»? Oh goodness really? I thought. «Yes please.» Needless to say, I missed my appointment and bus. The«fonz» sandwich was good. The toasted ciabatta was a great choice of bread. I enjoyed the picked onions and house made tapenade. I’m not so sure if it’s worth the $ 9.50. Maybe it’s due to my overall experience. Maybe, I’ll just send a friend of mine to pick up my order so I won’t have to endure that again lol.

What makes a good sandwich? It’s simple, actually. Everything just needs to be fresh. Fresh ingredients in fresh bread. Sprout Sandwich Shop has that going. It’s located at the corner of Koko Head and Waialae Avenue. The place is very, very small. There’s a couple of tables outside, but it’s not that comfortable in the blazing sun plus the recent blustery winds, and three, tight counter seats inside. Just don’t be in the middle. To be honest, I never gave this place much thought even though I pass by it several times a week. Before coming here, I was planning to go to EARL from a friend’s recommendation, but it was closed! I was set on having a sandwich for lunch, and luckily, I decided on this place. The staff here is very friendly and upbeat. Looking through the menu, there are only nine choices, and a few of them is more or less the same. The prices are a bit on the high side, and the extras are really high. I ordered the No Comply, which is a pesto chicken salad with lettuce, tomato, and garlic mayo on ciabatta bread. When I received my order, I was happy to see how thick and heavy, and how neat the sandwich appeared. I was a bit worried about the chicken being dried and tasteless since it’s probably the canned variety. However, I was wrong, the chicken was very tasty and moist, seasoned nicely, and had a good pesto flavor. The vegetables and the bread were fresh, but I never really noticed any of the garlic mayo, which is probably a good thing as the main ingredient is the pesto chicken salad. Overall, the sandwich was delicious and surprisingly very filling! Yay, I’m a fan. :)

LOVELOVELOVE the Sproutwich. Probably my most favorite vegan sandwich yet. For me it’s the BBQ/Cilantro sauce, toasted bread and fresh veggies that make it worthwhile. Not so big of a fan of the price; but once you feel the weight of the sandwich it says it all. I only wish they were open later :(

These people make really good sandwiches. My favorites are the Crater and the Floater. The Crater is a BLT sandwich but they are very generous with the bacon and there is also a chipotle mayo to give it a nice kick. The Floater is a turkey sandwich but they use brie cheese and sliced apples so you get a nice balance of savory and sweet. It is a pricey sandwich because it cost around $ 10 but your tummy will not be disappointed. They are only open for lunch and they get really busy at noon. Their space is small but they have a few stools inside and a table with a few chairs outside for those that want to eat there. I learned that ordering online is a much better option for me since I don’t work in the Kaimuki area. They’re next to the Crack Seed store. Depending on how busy they are, your online order could take anywhere from 15 – 30 minutes. When you complete the online order, you’ll get a text message to confirm your order and a 2nd text message telling you your order is ready. There was a few times where my order was done in 10 minutes. They have a loading zone in front of the shop so just park your car there, go in, and grab the brown bag with your name. The staff are super nice when you walk in to pick up and they will help you find your bag if there’s a bunch already on the counter. Another reason why I like the online ordering is that you can customize your sandwich and add more things too it. But watch out because the cost adds up fast and you might end up with a $ 14 sandwich.

You will not regret coming here because I know I didn’t! This place is located right across from Queen Lydia Liliuokalani School. I took peoples advice on here and ordered online first and when my friend and I arrived, we had to just wait for 5 minutes. This place is small and have very positive and friendly people working! My friend and I both decided to order the floater– ciabatta but she added bacon; once we took our first bite we were just so in love it! The sandwich was just so yummy and it felt so healthy eating it! The floater had turkey, bier, apples, lettuce, and red onions. Just a heads up, it can get a little messy eating this but it’s totally worth it! So for those that have not tried this place, you guys should and order online! It will save you time from waiting for awhile.

The staff was super friendly and immediately asked if I had been there before. When I told her«no» she took the time to explain each sandwich for me. I decided on The Sproutwich because it’s the sandwivh that started it all. Hands down, it is the best veggie burger I’ve ever had. It’s black bean based, so it had a nice meaty texture and the flavor was outstanding! The homemade bbq sauce is awesome. My daughter had The Duke, delicious fresh turkey breast, local veggies, fresh bread… to die! Will become a new local favorite, for sure!

After seeing some pictures of the sandwiches here I needed to come in ASAP. I went with the Duke and thought it was pretty good but as I look at some posts right now I wish I had added avocado — next time. Also it seemed a tad pricy at almost $ 10 however, that may be the going rate around here. The bread was soft(I was worried it would be crusty), there was plenty of turkey, delicious bacon, fresh tomato, and the onion was perfect. My sandwich was pretty runny so it was a bit messy and it seemed like it could have used a little kick. Maybe hot sauce, a flavored mayo, pesto, something? FYI — it’s a very small shop so there’s only a few bar stools at the window and two small tables outside.

Being a lover of all sandwiches I’ve been meaning to come here. Last week after a day at the beach my bf and I decided to grab a quick bite on the way home. We were both hangry so I researched the menu, ordered and paid on their website and waited for their text. We received a text 15 min later that our order was ready. Woohoo! Since it was crowded, my bf dropped me off at the corner where there was a growing line of people outside the narrow door and small store. I felt a sigh of relief knowing that our sandwiches were done and all I had to do was pick it up. I didn’t want to cut anyone so I patiently waited in line behind the others. The girl at the counter told the people ahead of me that it was a 20 minute wait.(Wow never heard of that one before). When I got to counter I was informed that it was going to be another 10 minute wait and that they were out of limeade and lemonade. Whatttt! It was only 1pm! The sandwich we ordered was brie, turkey, apple, pickled onions, and lettuce. It was good, but the shredded lettuce was messy and kept falling out of my sandwich. I hope they can fix their service because to be told a sandwich is done but then to have to wait another 10 is unacceptable in my book. Andy’s is just as crowded and they get it done with 1 – 2 ladies. There were 4 – 5 people making sandwiches at Sprout. I know it’s a new store so I hope they can work their kinks out, or else it’s just not really worth the wait.

These sandwiches are amazing!!! From the bread to the fillings to the toppings and spreads… I love it all! I always get the Sproutwich and I’m obsessed! The vegan patty is full of flavor and there’s plenty of lettuce, tomatoes and sauce all between two slices of their incredibly tasty toasted ciabatta. The sandwiches are big and tightly packed. It is pricey for a sandwich but I feel like the price fits for the size and quality of the sandwich. I’m pretty cheap but I know this sandwich will be good(very consistent) and fill me up(big and full) every time so it’s totally worth it! It would be cool if they sold half sandwiches with a bag of chips for the price they charge for one full sandwich, then maybe more would see the value. However, I just LOVE the Sproutwich so I will be happy to shell out $ 9.50 now and then to make my tummy happy and healthy!

Sprout Sprout let it all out These are the Sandwiches i can do without Come on, i’m yearning for you, come on Sprout Sprout let it all out These are the sandwiches i can do without Come on, i’m yearning for you, come on In hungry times You shouldn’t have to sell your soul On Wheat or White You really really ought to know Those hungry minds They took you for a starving boy Eat them on Rye, you shouldn’t have to jump for joy You shouldn’t have to jump for joy Sprout Sprout let it all out These are the sandwiches i can do without Come on, i’m yearning for you come on They gave you rice And in return you give them hell As cold as Shave Ice, i hope i live to tell the tale Sprout Sprout let it all out These are the sandwiches i can do without Come on, i’m yearning for you come on Well what can i say about Sprout Sandwich Shop that i haven’t said above. The Sandwiches here are simply out of this world amazing and all i can say for such a quaint little place, they pack a real punch when it comes to sinking your teeth into a really good old fashioned sandwich. The menu here has something for everyone from Vegeterian sandwiches like the Sproutwich to the Duke Sandwich which is made with Oven Roasted Turkey, Hickory Smoked Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and those pickled red onions which is something i could eat by itself. I see people complaining about the prices for the sandwiches here and for what reason i simply don’t understand why. Just remember, this ain’t Subway my friends. It you want a sandwich of that caliber then so be it, but when you are getting quality ingredients and meats here at Sprout, it’s worth every penny to me. To me, they make the perfect sandwiches here because they are not stingy on the meat and they don’t over pack a sandwich where eating it is simply an impossible task. Obviously people who complain about the amount of meat and other stuff just don’t understand what a great sandwich is all bout. If so, please go to your nearest Supermarket and buy yourself a loaf of bread, some Oscar Meyer Bologna, and other stuff and eat to your hearts content. I guess you can’t please everybody but for me. i’ll pay whatever i have to as long as they make an amazing product, and at Sprout Sandwich Shop, i can see why people flock to this place. As for the times being here, the service has been nothing short of amazing at Sprout, They greet with you with the Aloha Spirit here and all the workers here seem very happy and eager to serve you. I really love how they pack their sandwiches here. They pack it very meticulously and it even makes me not want to open wrapper and eat my Sammy. Check it out Here are some of the Sandwiches i have eaten so far: The Sproutwich: Made with a Vegan Patty. Sprouts, with a bbq sauce and a Cilantro Lime Aioli. I added some Avocado to it too. For those vegeterians out there, this is a must order right here. I ain’t no vegeterian but this was an awesome sandwich!!! The Duke: Made with Fresh Oven Roasted Turkey, Hickory Smoked Bacon, with those amazing Pickled Red Onions and added Avocado and Sprouts to it. Let’s just say this Sandwich never ever had a chance after my first initial bite. I devoured it. I’ve also had the Floater and The Fonz and i have to say is can’t you see a pattern here? I just love everything about this place. Not only fo they Sandwiches here, but they also sell freshly baked cookies, Chips, and the Ginger Cooler is something i simply have to try next time. They even have Kombucha and other refreshing drinks as well. All i can is that Sprout Sandwich Shop is my go to place now for a great sandwich and the best part about the location here is that they are only a few blocks away from getting Gelato fix on at Via Gelato. Kudo’s goes out to this amazing person named Steve, which is the reason why i frequent this place. He has the most amazing personality and is super cool if you ask me. His recommendations were spot on and because of his enthusiasm and friendliness was a reason for me coming back and those are traits that can’t be taught. If you people here are looking for a cheap sandwich and expecting some chips and a drink to come with it, then please drive yourself to the nearest Subway or Quizno’s because Sprout Sandwich Shop ain’t that kind of place. Thanks again to Steve and the staff at Sprout Sandwich Shop for making a Sandwich that leaves an impression on me.

This has become one of my go-to spots when I’m craving a sandwich that I know won’t disappoint. It’s a tiny place off Koko head ave. You can either park in the paid lot or there’s metered parking on the street available. If it’s a weekend or holiday the street parking will be free but the lot is monitored 24⁄7. I usually get their duke and boy do they pack it with meat. So if you’re not a fan of sandwiches with a lot of meat, you’ve been warned. I on the other hand hate a sandwich that I literally have to search for the fillings. Service is nice. It usually takes 10 – 15 minutes to make the sandwich. Possibly longer if they’re busy so keep that in mind when you’re feeding your meter. Good food and good service. All in all, five stars.

Ate here 3 times in the last 10 days, i’d say I’m a fan. The sandwiches are well made, panini bread is yummy, and you can order online. So far, i’ve had the Floater and the Fonz, and the Fonz is a hearty sandwich with an olive tapenade that pulls the whole sandwich together. The Floater has brie and apples and turkey, and is also a great meal. The service is amazing and I really like the vibe in the place. Definitely a great lunch spot!

This is the second sandwich shop to open in Kaimuki and this one is number 2 on my list. Although prices are comparable between the two sandwich stores, Sprout is a bit more expensive and for $ 2, I can buy a whole avocado to put that in my sandwich. I also didn’t find that I loved the sandwich options, they didn’t seem very unique or interesting. I settled for the«crater», their version of a BLT. It was a-ok. I liked the butter lettuce, but found the bacon a little soft, but flavorful. I also prefer sandwiches on regular bread or French bread. I didn’t really like the panini bread that spout uses and I didn’t like that my hands got all floury. The service was friendly, but it took about 15 minutes for my sandwich to be made. When I only have a 30 min lunch break, it’s probably not gonna work out in the future… Sorry, the other sandwich shop is closer to my work place and a lot quicker. There are a couple tables outside and a countertop inside. There is also complimentary water flavored with fruit. When it gets busy though, there is not enough room for people to wait inside… Kinda awkward.
