My sweet tooth kicked in and thanks to Unilocal,I stumbled on La Palme D’or. The reviews, tips and photos were very helpful and also convincing. La Palme D’or is located on 2nd level of Ala Moana, near Macy’s and right next to Kulu Kulu. The patisserie is very welcoming; bright lights sure does help! They have a good selection of cheesecakes, tarts, cakes, drinks, etc. although, not so much options on teas. There is not a lot of space and only have 2 tables w/2 chairs each. The cakes are well priced for its taste and quality. The cheesecakes are certainly Delish! They’re light, not too sweet and not too filling– just perfect! No complaints on customer service either. All in all, this is a must check out. If there are no tables available(which probably happens offer), get your treats to go and go next door to Kulu Kulu and indulge on cake goodness!

This is a great place to get dessert! Their desserts are incredibly delicious! Reminds me of desserts we used to eat in Japan– not too sweet, light and oh so good! This year for my dad’s birthday, we decided that instead of getting a whole cake, we would pick up a number of different desserts from La Palme D’Or. I was in charge of going to pick them up so it was up to me to choose which ones to get. I decided on the strawberry shortcake, vanilla roll cake, la matcha, a chocolate cake and panna cotta. They were all really really good, but if I had to pick my favorites it’d probably be the strawberry shortcake, chocolate cake, and panna cotta. You can’t go wrong with the strawberry shortcake. They cake is light, the cream is the perfect amount of sweetness and it has strawberries!!! I love panna cotta and this one did not disappoint. It was different in that it had a thin layer of what I think was strawberry jelly(?) or something at the top of the panna cotta that added more flavor to it. The panna cotta itself was extremely creamy and went perfectly with the fresh fruit on top. What surprised me the most was the chocolate cake. Just by looking at it, it doesn’t really look like anything special. They girl working had recommended it saying that it’s kind of like a brownie. But when I took the first bite, it was so much more than a brownie. It has the same chocolatey taste as a brownie but the texture of it was so moist and fudgey(not like a brownie at all!!). If I had to pick a favorite of these three, it’d definitely be the chocolate cake! I can’t wait to eat it again!!!
