If you want to impress your friends and family, grab a bunch of the animal donuts — they are very cute novelty items. They would be a great hit at parties! As for the taste — I thought the donut was on the dry side(even for a cake donut) but I liked my strawberry frosting on the pig donut.

Love that the have cute doughnut designed animals at $ 2.50 a piece in its own separate container. Donut is 50% smaller, more dense, tasted dry, and not sweet. More of a novelty item.

When I read all the positive reviews for Floresta’s Mapunapuna shop I was ecstatic to see they opened shop at Ala Moana’s food court. They share the same space with Kansai Yamato. I was bummed to see the sign up but no doughnuts when I passed by their stall last week after work so it appears they sell out fast. Or maybe they are still trying to figure out movement. I went to the mall again on Saturday morning and to my surprise they had doughnuts! Yay! They only had one type(strawberry-pig $ 2.50) of the popular animal doughnuts so of course I had to try that. They did have a nice selection of the regular doughnuts so I chose the coconut milky & the peanut butter both $ 1.60 each. $ 6.00 for three doughnuts kind of questions my sanity sometimes. These better be awesome doughnuts. Healthy factor versus taste factor: for me it’s taste factor. And these doughnuts were dry. It needs a glass of milk to go with it. Strawberry-pig: So very cute. Coated in strawberry white chocolate frosting. Whole pieces of almond makes for it’s ears. The frosting made up for it’s dryness. Coconut Milky-Frosted white chocolate with a dusting of shredded coconut. Frosting again made it palatable. Peanut butter-Doughnut sliced in half & sandwiched with peanut butter. My least favorite. Too dry. Microwaving for 15 – 20 seconds makes it taste better. A toaster oven probably even better. But if you plan on eating it at the mall, well then… get anything that has the frosting on it, haha. I’m on the fence on this one. My verdict is still out. But for now 3 generous stars.
