This is a really nice shop with high quality Hawaiian products. It shouldn’t be missed. Everything in here is beautiful and worthy to take home or buy as gifts. Although I wouldn’t get gifts myself since these products were also extremely high in price. I like my friends, but not that much. The most annoying thing was the woman that worked there stalked you, interrupted you all the time and told this story on how this dufus caught a shoplifter and became her hero. I heard the story at least 29 other times each time a new customer came in that she could stalk. I would have bought something, but she drove me out of there. Perhaps, I’ll return when she’s not around.

March 13, 2015 on a Friday I entered Nohea Gallery for the first time at the Ward Warehouse. I noticed all the beautiful koa carvings whether it be bowls, jewel cases, earrings, or bookmarks. I was so tempted to buy a koa bookmark on this day which I’ll buy it on my next trip to Honolulu. You might be wondering«Why would you need a bookmark?» My answer is «I still have 30 books to read and I would need it in case I ever loose a place when I’m reading a book. Yes I do have to turn the page… I don’t have a digital version of the book.» I also noticed the beautiful paintings, photos, and glass merchandises. I was browsing through the individually wrapped photographs and noticed all the different sceneries. Photos of the beaches, photos of Diamond Head, or photos of Waikiki. On the back of each photograph is information of the photographer who took the shots. I seen some other items that I liked which I would have to save money in order to purchase. Someday in the future I’ll be back… hopefully the merchandise that I like is still available.

The Nohea Gallery is home to a large selection of unique art from many different local artisans. In general, there are pictures, general home décor and knick-knacks, and jewelry, along with a few toys. Most things are on the pricy side, but they really are unique. The staff is warm and friendly; also, they are willing to work with the artists — and the artists are willing to work with them — to tweak things available in the store(primarily for size, but design on some things as well).

Excellent, Hi, Yvonne and Karen are awesome they helped me find something geologically interesting for my little brother. Lots of wood, jewelry and glass items at reasonable prices from local artists. Good for gifts to loved ones at home. Thanks. God bless. Aaron

This is a wonderful gallery. I was drawn to it for its wonderful art, including one of my favorite artist’s Brenda Cablayan. I discovered another wonderful artist, Judd Boloker. And as wonderful as the products is the staff… one staff member is more pleasant/as pleasant and helpful as the next. I look forward to returning.

FIVESTARS for Nohea Gallery! It was a Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. and I thought I’d give Nohea Gallery a call to see if they had a Men’s pendant from the Sonny Ching line of jewelry. I initially spoke to Karen on the phone to see if the store had what I was looking for it in stock. I eventually decided to go into the store myself to see what they had available. When I walked into the store, Karen greeted me by name and was very friendly. She didn’t have what I was looking for, but he showed me several options of what was available. Not only did she open the display case for me to see, but she also pulled out several items(15+) from the back stock, so that I could see all options that were in the Sonny Ching line of jewelry. I was very determined to get what I was looking for, so I decided to wait on the other purchases. Nohea Gallery has top quality and fine items from local artisans on the island. They carry things from paintings, jewelry, drink coasters, wood bowls, Koa itesm such as pens /boxes /jewelry, and they also have very nice pieces of home decoration items. Go check out the Sonny Ching collection of jewelry. All of the pieces are tribal print items that are based on the Kapa prints. Each pattern tells a story about a life experience or a legend. For the men’s line, he has silver pendants, cufflinks, leather & silver bracelets, etc. For the women, he has pendants, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. Super nice. I didn’t find what I was looking for, but you can be sure that I’ll be back in the store in about 1 – 2 months to get what I was looking for. I also want to purchase several of the other items that I saw. Thanks, Karen for your excellent customer service! I appreciate you taking the time to help me find what I was looking for! Mahalos! I have always enjoyed this store when I lived on island. On a recent visit to O’ahu I stopped by. I found the gift I was looking for for a good price(compared to other shops in Waikiki haleiwa and kailua). I asked for some assistance in searching for a petroglyphs wall hanging that I was looking for. I had been collecting his artwork for several years. Despite the others in store by another artist they assisted me in finding this particular artist and the specific petroglyph I was looking for. That same day they had found what I was looking for. The next day Yvonne? Called me to say that the artwork had been delivered… I have to say that they have some exemplary Customer service!!! Some Waikiki shopkeepers take note… Mahalo to the ladies at the Nohea Gallery!!!

I visited the store in search of a gift. I was not disappointed. There are so many treasures to be found that it’s hard to choose. They had lots of local artistry. The customer service was also great. Everyone was super friendly and easy to approach with questions. They made shopping there not only easy, but also a pleasure. I will surely return to Nohea in the future!

I came to Nohea Gallery to check out their selection of Koa Wood Rings. It was one of the recommended retailers on the Koa Wood Rings website, and it had very good reviews on Unilocal. The store itself was very clean and quiet. It was very peaceful walking into such an establishment. There were lots of wood products and art displayed nicely throughout the gallery. The problem I had with this place was with the customer service. I wandered around the store for a while before I found what I was looking for and the entire time, the two employees just watched me as I walked around aimlessly. After I finally found what I was looking for, I asked one of these employees to open the display case. They did, but then this employee decided to walk away with the shelf of rings without even acknowledging me. After I followed them to a counter across the store, this employee set the rings down and got back to whatever they were doing before? I looked through all of the products while they were alone on the counter and when I found what I wanted, I couldn’t have been rung up fast enough. The whole experience seemed very cold and impersonal. There was little interaction with the staff and it made my time in the store seem very awkward.

Once again this place went above and beyond for a customer. My friend bought a cheap photo under $ 15… which they gift wrapped nicely. Then she found a frame sat another store, took both back to Nohea. The salespeople helped her put the photo into the frame and OFFEREDTOREDOTHEGIFTWRAPPING !! All with smiles. The Aloha spirit lives.

I loOve Nohea Gallery. It has been my go to place to get inspiration for my own art since the day i moved to Hawaii. The shop is beautiful. Staff is knowledgeable, kind, and always willing to help. Really the most wonderful people. Original paintings, ceramics, wooden boxes/bowls /accessories, glass, jewelry. Everything all in one space i wish i could own! One of a kind, handcrafted, fair prices. I am particularly obsessed with their jewelry. The most beautiful I’ve honestly ever seen. Sharon Leton(Aáma), Beach Girl Jewels, Lynda Caris,… the list goes on! They receive new local art work regularly, so I always have to check in. Convenient location(across from Paina Café/T&C), easy parking. Open 10 – 9 M-F, Sun 10 – 6.

If you can only visit one place to satisfy your need to buy a beautiful piece of art, this is where you need to go. From original paintings to one-of-a-kind native wood bowls and boxes, from jewelry to crystal glazed ceramic pieces, from furniture to inexpensive prints — this is the best Honolulu has to offer. Owned by the same family for over 20 years, they have the integrity to represent a broad section of Hawaiian artists with honesty and fair prices. Simply the best.

I found the service very gracious. I didn’t feel pressured at all. I was welcomed and provided with answers to all my questions. The staff seemed knowledgeable without getting too pushy. I could have spent all day in the gallery. So many beautiful and unique items! I will definitely come back. There was one item that they didn’t carry and the salesperson actually referred me to the right place to find it.

Some of the most beautiful hand crafted gifts anywhere. Nohea made Christmas shopping easy. Gorgeous earrings at very reasonable prices, glass for clients, wood for the man in my life and paintings(on my wishlist). The staff is friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. I plan on checking here first for any occasion… and when I need something beautiful to brighten my life!

What a charming shop. I brought my dad in today and he was so impressed with the beautiful art. The prices are always fair and it’s a great place to find one-of-a-kind gifts. The staff greeted us with Aloha and then gave us space to look around. If you are looking for a special gift at any price range, this is the place to go.

I visited Nohea Gallery this morning. The worker doesn’t even acknowledge me. I guess it’s better than her following me around like a tail. This is my second visit within a week. There is something that I want to get but I guess I’ll get somewhere else.

I visited this store after having a disappointing experience at nearby Island Treasures. I’m so glad I did… I have visited galleries across Hawaii, and around the world, and was delighted by the array of beautiful, unusual, art and jewelry. The salespeople are knowledgeable about the artists and the inspiration behind the artwork, the art is well-priced, and the shopping experience is just delightful. If you’re looking for special art by native Hawaiian artists, this is the place to go.

there are some beautiful things in here. i like that so many local artists are featured, i like that the things picked are for eclectic tastes, and the store itself is beautiful. while the people who work here are very lovely and knowledgeable, it is hard to look around when you have someone following you telling you each detail about something you’re looking at. sometimes you just want to look. oh and before you buy: you can’t return for money. only store credit. and there is a very strict time frame on that as well.
