I love this place! The aunty that works here is really sweet and they have the best hashbrowns ever! I’ve come here for breakfast and little snacks, def recommend to anyone who wants anything from a light to decent meals since they have side orders, etc, not to mention for a really good price! Plus it’s in the perfect location of Manoa Marketplace so my friends and I like to come here during/after school or after hiking around Manoa Falls

I was looking around for a quick brunch before work and my girlfriend recommended this spot. The store is pretty small, having about 4 – 5 tables. They have a really big menu ranging from chinese, bbq meats, and breakfast. I got a #1 under the breakfast menu I believe(not sure because this is a late review). It came with a choice of rice or 2 hash brown patties, 2 eggs, and a choice of meat for a little under $ 7. Not bad! I had the hash browns, 2 eggs, and Portuguese sausage, with a side order of link sausages. Total was something like $ 9.95. The meal wasn’t anything special and the portion was okay. But what do you expect! Its your typical local breakfast. I was content.

Came here after a leisurely walk at Manao falls, so I was hungry. The place is a small joint with something like a cafeteria feel which is perfect for a casual lunch for me or just a quick bite. FOOD: With my hunger, I ordered a BBQ mix plate. For $ 10 I felt guilty finishing it even after a hike. They have a large scoop of macaroni salad which was good(not hard to get right but still good). Honestly the teriyaki flank steak was not great. It was dry and maybe a little too salty. This part wasn’t even necessary, I would’ve been happy with just the chicken and short ribs. The chicken was good, tender, with the right amount of flavor. The star of the show is the short rib, grilled to perfection with the right amount of char but still cooked to a nice medium that was tender with a marinade that exploded in your mouth. It was a pretty hefty piece and I could definitely go for another one of those right as I write this. Apparently she liked to mention that the short ribs had no bones because they cut in house? If you’re into that I guess, but that’s not a big deal to me. Overall this is a solid, cheap, easy meal which I probably could have shared or split into two meals, but I ate to my hearts content and till my stomach ached. Don’t expect anything fancy, because it’s just good quick bbq, which is just the way I like it.

I have a soft spot for these mom-pop establishments that still serve the classic plate lunch essentials. Work through the overly extensive menu that features some serious plate lunch. I’ve only gotten two or three lunches here, and every time telling myself to order something new on a different visit. This is also my go to place for party trays. A solid BBQ Chicken. It’s the determining factor for a good take out restaurant. This place knows how to properly grill teri-chicken, leaving a very slight burn that really takes it over the top. Classic dish. No frills. Skip the mini, get the regular. Unexpectedly, the chili here is REALLY good. This is the part of the review where I will get passionate. This chili is extremely unassuming on the menu, hidden in the long list of items. But this Chili, deserves its own page, its own font, bold with astericies on both sides and the words ‘super bomb chili’ italicized above it. I have to mention Zippy’s when it comes to Chili for a base line. What makes with chili so darn good is the ground beef. There’s something so fresh about it that I have never tasted in Zippy’s Chili. I’ve even ordered containers of it to take to parties, tempting to tell everyone I made it myself… HEH. btw. sooo much cheaper than the rip off they have at Zippys. I also ordered a large take out pan of teri beef that was actually filled top to bottom. Bang for bang buck. There’s never anything left over at parties.

Rude and argumentative. Specials signage misleading. Never coming back as there are many other choices in Manoa to get a meal without the stress of dealing with an obnoxious and ignorant cashier. Hey! If you are unhappy with your business, then don’t take it out on the customers. Maybe it’s time to hang it up and do something else.

Went for dinner last night… not only did they get the order for both of us wrong, but the brown rice we paid extra for wasn’t even cooked right! It didn’t help that the lady at the counter told us they close at 8, when it was only 7:15& she looked upset the whole time we placed our order for take-out.

Very rude and unsanitary place. So I came here a few months ago with my clients for breakfast. And as my clients were deciding what to order I was tieing my hair up, the lady owner rudely asked me to go outside and do that cause«she don’t want hair falling«like geez woman I’m putting my hair up not combing it! And could you atleast ask nicely?! So I didn’t even bother listening to her. So as my client orders she orders some hash browns and the lady goes into the front freezer with bare hands, unwashed nor no gloves on and God’s knows what the hell she touched earlier, and grabs the hash Browns and hands it to the cook. My client then cancels the hash browns and the lady just tosses in back into the freezer, not back into the packaging but on the freezer floor. And who knows when the last time that freezer has been clean and what else unsanitary things they be doing…

ORDERTHEBEEFBROCCOLI! Order the Beef Broccoli. I’ve been here multiple times and always think to try something new. I did once, but nothing compares to the Beef Broccoli. The service is okay. Nothing to rave about. And it’s a small takeout place with only two tables. Oh … Water a little sketchy. There was little black flakes of an unknown substance floating in mine. But you can chance it if you want. I’m sure it won’t kill you.

The owner(counter lady) is extremely rude. Our chicken Katsu was terribly overdone. She gets upset if you need extra napkins, and won’t give u utensils for take out if u don’t ask for them. Maybe she eats with her bare fingers(claws). Don’t go to Manoa BBQ

The place is more of an average drive in. I ordered a chicken curry katsu. There’s not much to say — except the considerable amount of coffee — which I was quite delighted to find. The prices are rather cheap and it’s just something different compared to all the other places in Manoa Marketplace. There are places to sit at. I would like to say the service is swift and hospitable — and they have that in the good marks category.

I’ve been here a few times over the years. Customer service is not their strong suit, but the food is a solid 3. Most recently, I had teri chicken with chili as a combo. Both were tasty. My friend had the garlic ahi. The servings were generous, and the ahi was covered with bits of garlic. It looked overcooked, but that’s to be expected in most restaurants.
