Came here for lunch today, not sure if it’s the same owners(use to be Pearls BBQ) along time ago. I was hungry so opted for a combination plate of fish jun and chicken katsu. The sides are all pretty standard like most Korean places. I chose the potatoes, cabbage, noodles and the tofu. All good with great taste, all that I remember from previous owners. The plate itself was heavy when I picked it up, enough food for two people or leftovers for sure. The fish jun was yummy and the sauces were good as well. The katsu was great as well, just less of a portion than the fish jun. Why the 3 stars, the portion was good but there was LOTS of rice. For $ 14 I would hope for more sides and or entrée.

Giving 5 stars just for the Spicy Fried Chicken Wings. It’s all I eat here and I love it!

Good for quick Korean food in Manoa. Plates are filled. Wife and I split the items we order because we get too filled eating separate orders. Soups are our standard order, tofu or seaweed. Wife makes lunch for work with the veggies and rice that comes with the soup. All in all a decent choice.

After tennis at Manoa park, my friends and I got hungry. So we looked for a place to eat around Manoa Marketplace. I hardly come up to this side and since I’m here I should try something new. Though I never tried Peppa before it’s similar to all the Korean BBQ fast food places. Three of us decided to share a plate since its big portions. We got the $ 12~ BBQ chicken and meat jun combo that comes with 2 scoops of brown rice(no additional cost), 4 sides: choi sum, broccoli, egg rolls, and long rice. My friend wanted the potatoes but I said no because it’s bad after a workout. They kept nagging me about it after. They said potatoes are the best while eating here. MEH… BBQ chicken isn’t too burnt and it wasn’t too oily. The meat Jun didn’t have enough egg crisp around the meat. But it wasn’t too bad. The choi sum and broccoli was just cooked with salt water, it wasn’t too salty. The egg roll was kinda bland. Long rice was good. It comes with spicy sauce and the meat jun sauce. But it tasted like shoyu. It’s not the best place to eat out, just something simple, fast and filling. Yes, for me, I was full with three people sharing.

My family has regularly been coming to Peppas since they opened in Manoa Marketplace. However, about a month ago, I ordered a meat jun plate and found a metal piece of steel wool in the breading of my entrée. My family and I called the store multiple times to speak with the owner, but our calls were never returned. We even went down to the store tonight, but the girl working was very unapologetic and smiling the entire time. She never took our phone number down, so I don’t expect to get a call back. I am very disappointed that Peppas’ management does not take this more seriously. Steel wool should NOT be inside food since it can cause serious damage if swallowed. I would not recommend this restaurant at all since they obviously don’t care about your patronage or well being.

This Peppa’s Korean BBQ is located in the Manoa Shopping Center as soon as you enter right next to the American Savings Bank. After classes I come here for my Korean BBQ Fix. You definitely get what you pay for, their minis are big and the price is relative to its quantity given. Everything so far that I tried here is good. I normally get the Meat Jun. –Free Parking –Free Water –Big Portions –No Bathroom inside –Good for kids and family –Fast Service –Take Out –Catering available Highly recommended if you want Korean BBQ.

We miss the Peppas on King st and wanted to eat what Peppas would have, so we drove to Makiki and the Peppas there was crowded so Manoa peppas, here we come. Service was great but the cook messed up our order… three times. First we ordered fish juhn but we got beef juhn. After that was corrected, the chicken wings was bleeding raw on the inside. I returned it and got another batch that was still was raw. The cook finally came to see it and I had to show it to him. They finally caught on but I will never eat there again.
