Worst Chinese noodles ever!!! Inedible. I don’t expect a whole lot from L&L. But this was a real low. Straight to the landfill

I had the Teriyaki steak burger with fries. It was very good. My friends had Teriyaki chicken salads and they enjoyed them very much. I must qualify my review by admitting I just came off a 7 day cruise where I had, over the course of 7 days, maybe two remarkable meals.

Oh my God the worst L & L Dive Inn I have ever been to in my life! The customer service absolutely horrible. I’m standing at the register waiting for someone to help me, there is a Asian boy worker and Asian girl worker that were standing behind the register speaking in some Asian language flirting with each other! Completely ignoring me. A girl who is sweeping behind the counter comes up and takes my order with her broom in hand. I ask the girl who took my order, «are they always like that?» She looks a me and rolls her eyes. I took that as a yes. The next customer comes up to the counter and the Asian boy takes your order. His body language alone said that he did not want to be there working. Looking around with one hand on his hip and the other tapping the register while waiting for the customer to decide their order! I wonder how these workers affect the store? Is business slow? All I know is I will never go there EVER again! I’m going to post this on all my social media accounts in hopes that people will see this and think twice about going there. And maybe find workers who can really appreciate and take pride in their job.

Called in a phone order 20 minutes before we arrived and ended up waiting another 20 minutes for our food… i sat there watching my food sit on the counter while it took them forever to make fries. I was watching the cook make the next customers food while rubbing and picking his nose! on top of that when i went to pour some teriyaki sauce into a to go cup, it had black particles and a fly floating in it! Ugh. first and last time going there.

The countergirl was fast and the cooks were fast, but the lady who was picking up the orders was so slow! It took 15 minutes to get my cheeseburger. I should have looked for a Mcdonalds.

I remember back in the day when I revered LNL barbecue. But now, I home make the best marinade. The U.S. mainland locations suck even worse when compared to Hawaii. I used to love that this airport LNL was open late for us graveyard workers. But now it’s only open to 11pm. No more Byron’s and can’t compete with McDonald’s. There was 2-hour free parking with validation from any restaurant. That’s a good thing. This morning I ate a lup cheong breakfast plate with white rice and two scrambled eggs. I’ll come here again when I am around, but it’s no longer my typical goto kind of place. About the service. The girl brought my meal to my seat. AND I heard her say to a customer May I answer the phone before taking your order? And she walked around asking if anyone needed validations. Outstanding! 101615 The complimentary size water is pretty large. The condiment bar has a container labeled teriyaki sauce. I couldn’t really taste it. It may have just been shoyu. Lol. They also have Apple Pay!

Everyone ordered the same thing so when they yell,“chicken Katsu” be ready to fight your way to the counter and get yours. They don’t use order numbers and when 4 people stand up for food the cashier just blankly stares at you, English barrier understood but number barrier? Now let’s get to the famed CHICKENKATSU. It’s a pre-breaded frozen chicken patty with a side of rice and BBQ sauce. Sound like a drunk meal thrown together at 3am in a dorm room? I thought so. The fountain machine had soap or something in it to make my soda fizz weird also. It’s a joke the restaurant has BBQ in the name. You can tell the sauce is bottled and nothing is getting smoked in here. I will not return.

Had to order a large pan of BBQ for my son’s graduation. Called it in, pick up was at 430. Went there at 425 and it was ready to go in the box! They also do delivery from what i was told. Also, their online prices aren’t the same as current prices so it’s best to call for updated pricing. It’s so much easier to get any orders as it’s right on & off the freeway by the airport and where rental car drivers need to return their vehicles! Mahalo L& L

Would give no stars… burger taste shitty and the bacon costs more than the fries or burger. So disappointed. First and last time eating here. Counter people also shitty no thank you or anything… DONTGOHERE there’s a lot better places to eat in this shopping complex. Where they actually appreciate your business.

My honey and I stopped in to grab some takeout for dinner. I was hesitant since it looked deserted and it did not look like the cleanest food joint. Usually restaurants that are about to close for the night sell their old leftovers from the day. We looked up at the menu displayed on the wall. My sweetie ended up ordering for the both of us. A number two which was the Lau Lau and kalula pork combo with rice and Mac salad. He also put in a order for one regular loco moco. It took less then ten minutes till we received our meal. We took it back to our hotel and excitedly opened our boxes. My honey started on the loco moco. He enjoyed the flavors and the combination of meat and gravy. I have never had a Lau Lau. Let me just say it was delicious. The taro leaves being steamed literally melted in my mouth. The kalula pork was tender with the slices of cabbage mixed in. The only con would be the thick slices of fat mixed in the Lau Lau. I disposed the fat, and there was a plentiful amount of Mac salad and rice that I did not finish. I would be back to try their other offerings:)

New to the island and we decided to give a try had the chicken Katsu with rice and macaroni salad the chicken was very good some pieces were cooked a little hard but was good. My daughter had the fried shrimp with rice and tossed salad she liked it and ate almost all of it. We both had the mini size and it was more than enough for us. Prices were a little more than I wanted to pay, but I am in Hawaii!!!

Located er near the Airport, if you’re just arriving of about to leave Hawaii, it’s a must stop with late hours. It gets busy during the weekday lunch crowd w/all the business from AIPA, but they tend to manage the rush efficiently. Also tied in w/Chinese take-out in the same restaurant, so u have more selections than the typical L&L locations. Since the closing of local favorite, Byrons, L&L satisfies the old craving for the Shimp Katsu Burger & even have the Saimin Burger! Great selection & hours

Here is an article I wrote about my vacation to Honolulu, Hawaii. My wife Deanna Jaxine Stinson and I, made many stops to eat. Here is the article: Not bad at all! Fried pork was delicious! Deanna had the macaroni salad and she loved it. The customer service was very nice too. Great place to eat and not too expensive.

My family usually makes a run to L&L Barbecue if we’re taking a dish to a potluck – we usually go for the classic«Mochiko Chicken» or «Chicken Katsu” – but once in a while, when I have a serious katsu craving, I’ll get a mini-sized plate lunch from here. While some locals abhor L&L and opt for plate lunch elsewhere, this location has been pretty consistent, in terms of katsu quality and quantity, so I have no complaints. I haven’t tried much else from this L&L just because I’m not on the island that often anymore, so I don’t really deviate from my favorites. Here’s what I would recommend, as well as plate lunches I wouldn’t mind trying: «Chicken Katsu»: This is probably one of my favorites from L&L, whether I’m at a Hawaii L&L or a mainland one. This entrée features tender pieces of boneless chicken coated with special seasoning and deep-fried, served with our special L&L Hawaiian Barbecue Chicken Katsu sauce. This plate lunch can easily be defined as the local eatery’s best seller. I don’t usually use the katsu sauce and I get the mini version with one scoop of white rice and mac salad. But I truly love the breading on the katsu — it’s near perfect. Not too crispy and hard for my taste, but enough so that you get that delectable fried crunch in every bite. I also always go for the mac salad because I like how the L&L version isn’t overdosed with mayo(and if it is, I don’t eat all of the salad. For the most part, though, I enjoy these succulent macaroni noodles). «Hawaiian Plate»: This combo features hefty pork chuck wrapped with taro leaves that are steamed to perfection and served with savory, smoky-flavored kalua pork. I don’t get lau lau very often – simply because entrees including lau lau are often expensive – but this plate lunch sounds absolutely delicious, so I may have to make an exception. I love the moist, juicy pork that’s in the leaves – it’s usually super flavorful because of the steamed leaves – and I also enjoy eating the moist taro leaves that provide a wet outer shell. My mouth waters just thinking about how good this dish must be. «Kalua Pork»: I love a good kalua pork entrée, so I’ll definitely have to order this entrée at some point. It features smoke-flavored, succulent shredded pork slowly roasted to a flavorful finish and mixed with cabbage. Yum! I’m pretty picky when it comes to Hawaiian food – I don’t really like lomi salmon, poi and all that jazz – but kalua pork and cabbage is one of the traditional Hawaiian components that I AM very fond of. VERY. «Loco Moco»: I haven’t had the«Loco Moco» from here yet, but it sounds like the traditional local dish on paper. It includes savory hamburger patties placed over rice, covered with brown gravy and topped with 2 eggs. It’s also served with your choice of salad; I would go for the mac salad. I would probably ask for gravy on the side if ordering this dish, as I don’t like my «Loco Moco» overrun with gravy, but I’m eager to try this local treat one day. «Musubi»: L&L offers a variety of musubi — the traditional spam musubi but musubi with other fillings as well. If I’m in the mood for a snack, I would go for either the«Katsu Musubi,» «Fish Fillet Musubi» or «Portuguese Sausage Musubi.» I’m sure each is delicious and flavorful(I already know I’ll like the katsu version because I love the katsu from this eatery). «Garlic Shrimp»: There’s nothing better than succulent prawns sautéed with rich garlic, green onions and butter. Except I would nix the green onions if I ever got this shrimp entrée. «Seafood Combo»: If I wanted one more element to a seafood-filled plate, I would get this combo because it provides a great sampling of some of my favorite meats. You get a fish fillet, fried shrimp and your choice of BBQ beef/chicken/short ribs or chicken katsu. Of course, I would go for the katsu because that’s my favorite entrée from L&L, but I like this option because it features two of my seafood favorites as well. Of course, that’s a lot of fried stuff in one entrée, but I would be sure to only eat half and save the other half for later. «Seafood Platter»: If I ever wanted a combo, I would probably go for this seafood entrée because it contains shrimp and fish … two seafood dishes that I really do like. I’d take fried shrimp over grilled shrimp any day, and I already know I like the fresh, moist fish fillet that comes with this combo.

Years ago, this place was my love. Now, the quality has sunk so low, it’s not even worth going anymore. Yesterday I went there to get Kal Bi(was actually planning on going to the Korean place next door, but they were closed), and against my better judgment I gave L&L another chance. I won’t be making that mistake again. The Kal Bi was all bones. Definitely not worth $ 10. I’ll attach the picture. Anyways, that’s the last time I’ll be going to an L&L, just not worth it.

OMG! Was the worst L & L EVER! We normally love this chain, but the quality has gone down immensely. I had laulau, it was burnt and dried out and the fish was a tiny scrap that I wouldn’t feed my dog. The brown rice was mushy, the only thing they got right was the Mac salad. I’m very disappointed. :-(

I read reviews that were semi great so I was a little hesitant to have my first loco moco of Hawaii here. Forget the other reviews, the loco moco was great. The portion size and price were great. I would recommend this L&L anytime.

Madre, boo & I decided to have lunch at this L&L’s since we were shopping right across the street at the Melaleuca store. This location has 2 separate areas but from the same company… it’s like you have you regular local«L&L» and then next to it you have a Chinese based L&L, it’s quite confusing, but I usually don’t bother looking at the L&L’s Chinese inspired side. It’s a pretty wide area, but the length for the lines here are pretty fad. When it gets busy, the lines are usually towards the entrance, so it’s hard to go in and out. The seating varies, but there’s a lot on both sides. Ordered they’re Salmon burger and asked for extra crispy fries. The burger was good, actually tasted like real salmon instead of the fake frozen type(but who knows it might be) and the fries didn’t come out fresh, and it looked shriveled, which was a complete disappointment. Another disappointment is that there were no refills! On top of they’re soda machine they have that drink refills are half price!(Oh yay the joy in my bones… pft. Not really!) had a regular cup & it was .87 for refill! Like come on! & we were dining in, waiting forever for our orders it was just horrible! Probably won’t be coming back to eat here, they food is okay, but the service and everything else is crap, sorry that’s the truth. The workers were pretty nice though, so 1 star for that. Happy eats elsewhere Unilocalers! /:

Of all the L&L places this one is my favorite. Reason being is it has a small kine okazua and a lot of seating on both sides and loads of parking. This is the only one I’d feel comfortable eating there because theres that much seating. I find some of the others too cramped. The Barbecue mix was ono.
