Kokea Bento

I was on my lunch break for work and I wanted subway but I saw Kokea and thought a bento would be better. It was! I got the tempura bento. It took long to make considering I was on my break. I’m gonna call it in next time to avoid waiting 25 minutes again. At least I new they made it fresh! She also apologized for the wait so she was very kind. I really enjoyed it.

Kokea Bento have great food at great prices! An amazing producer (Marilyn Mick) discovered it for a local shoot and every time we are around Dillingham we can’t help but have them as our caterer. Diana the owner is faboulous and will accommodate based on budget.

I have to order for standing luncheon meeting so I’m constantly on the lookout for places that deliver (for free or under $ 15), and found this place through Unilocal.
Haven’t been to the place personally, but I ordered off of their menu from their facebook page. Items were pretty much as pictured, although my only «complaint» would be that the curry plates were on the smaller size. It was enough to have the average person barely satisfied, but not still hungry. For the price it wasn’t awful though.
Calling was a bit difficult as there was a bit of a language barrier, but I just asked if I could e-​mail my order and they said they preferred it that way (which is perfect because I also prefer it that way). Answers came promptly within 24 hours and customer service was always polite. Delivery came on time and food was decent. Food would have been about a 3.5 star, but considering price and value and service (free delivery woot!), I give it a 4. I would suggest people using them as an option for work luncheons as they accept business checks, and of course as an option for some change in plate/​bento lunch.

Good Selections of fish bento and cooked warm and hot. Prices reasonable. will come again.

We have the ahi bowl and the Katsu bento. It was pretty good and better than we were expecting I guess. Nice flavors and Katsu done well. Not huge portions but filling and satisfying. Would come back again

I’ve seen this place while passing by one day and thought that I’d give it a try…
I had the chicken teri bento. It came with a generous portion of rice, chicken thighs (sliced), and 2 different sides. Everything is made fresh here. No sitting
When I checked out the bento in the car, I was kind of taken aback. I would have thought there would be something on the rice (sesame seeds, or an ume), but that’s OK. I can live without it. The chicken was cooked well and had a nice seasoning to it. My absolute favorite was the shredded daikon they had in this shoyu sauce… THAT was the BOMB!
THe menu is pretty straight forward. Katsu, Chicken Katsu, Tempura, etc. I would hope that maybe one day they’ll make combination bentos… I was craving tempura and chicken, but they don’t have that. (hint hint)…
I would def. chose to eat here again…

= rice quality not that good. i was expecting softer and fluffier but it was a little dry… but still good!
