Jojo’s is a great place to go if you want to quickly grab coffee and breakfast before work. They have a lot of ready-to-go breakfast bentos that have a combination of bacon, Portuguese sausgage, mini sausages, and spam on top of scrambled eggs and white rice, and the best part is that they’re only $ 3. Their iced coffee is also very good if you like your coffee a little more milky and sweet, although it’s actually more of an americano because they grind the coffee beans and brew espresso with their espresso machine. This place is definitely on my list of go-to places downtown.

Quick place to grab a cheap boba drink in the middle of HPU. However, you can walk two blocks ewa and go to one of the chinatown stands that use fresh fruit– which are way better.

Definition of hole in the wall. I frequent this place 3 – 4 times a week for a large iced coffee, black. I watch them ground the beans, brew it and pour it over ice every time. Fresh cut fruit in a tray is always available in the mini fridge for $ 2.75, large spam musubi for $ 1 and other breakfast bentos fur under $ 3. Their service never disappoints and they have your order out in no time, which is perfect since I am always running late to my morning class. The location is actually on Fort St and does not have a store front. It is more of a large coffee stand. For the quality of food, prices, and service I just have to give them 5 stars.

Summary: my go-to place for breakfast and snacks Review: jojo’s café is my go-to spot whenever i want breakfast or $ 1 spam musubi/muffins. The pricing for a big take out box of spam, eggs, and rice only costs $ 3! It tastes super good and they always make it fresh! They do have pre-packaged bentos too if your on a hurry. Their $ 1 spam musubi is the best you can get at that price level. The workers are super nice and will remember you and your orders which makes it cool and personable. This place is great and convenient for HPU students since its right next to the Sea Warrior Center.

Here’s the deal. I’m not going to say it’s the best smoothie I’ve ever tasted… But, it’s a good deal($ 3.16 for a 16 oz. mango smoothie) for mostly fresh(I’ll explain in a bit) fruit smoothies. I went in looking for a comparable alternative to some of the other fresh fruit smoothie places in Chinatown/Downtown. I was pleased to find this little counter top café in Fort Street Mall – very convenient location. I was even more pleased to find out that their smoothies were made with fresh fruits! Yes, that’s what I asked the cashier…“Do you use powder(i.e., mango-flavored powder) for your smoothies, or fresh fruits?” He replied, «Everything except the longan and lychee are fresh. Those come from the can.» So, I’m thinking, «Ok, great! Fresh mango fruit smoothie to cool me off from this hot summer day!» Anyways, I ordered the mango smoothie and noticed that as they were making it, they put in fresh mango AND some type of orange-colored powder(I’m assuming was mango-flavored?). Bottom line, the smoothie was a mix of powder(for added flavor?) and real mango. Not completely disappointed, but I was hoping for an all-natural fruit smoothie. I’ll be honest, I will probably go back, but not when I feel like being completely healthy. I think one of the ingredients in the smoothie was also milk, fyi. For the price, this can’t be beat! And, in terms of flavor, I liked that the smoothie was light in flavor and not overly sweetened. And, it didn’t taste completely artificial because there were fresh mango pieces in the smoothie!(Yup, it’s mango season! So, they didn’t even use frozen mango!).
