It’s was ok. Had the roast beef sandwich. Nothing spectacular. And a blueberry muffin. Taste like sand club muffins haha

Not sure why this place has such low ratings. I interned in the building this past summer and frequently came here for breakfast and lunch. My usuals were salmon and cream cheese on a toasted everything bagel, turkey and cranberry sandwich with brie, turkey and avocado, corn chowder, and of course their breakfast sandwich(ham egg and cheese on a warm buttery croissant. All of these were always good when I ordered it and their coffee is pretty good too. The salmon and cream cheese is one of my favorites because they don’t skimp out on the salmon(like some places)

I’m rating solely on the cashier in the front. I ordered a sandwhich and I simply asked for a plate. The cashier in the front said we don’t give plates. What did you order? I was like a sandwhich. But she was like we can’t give boxes. And I just blurted well god damn woman can I just buy on then?! Holy crap. I’m never coming back.

I used to walk past this place when I cut through the building on the way to Fort Street Mall. I would glance over, then continue on my way. Recently, I discovered that they sell sandwiches, wraps and salads at the Farmers Market on Fort Street(Tuesdays and Fridays). The food is sized down for outdoor sales on «ice.» I tried the CURRIEDCHICKENSALAD wrap and it was delish. I’ve been back a few times since. The sizes at the physical location are bigger, so it’s a good place to go if you are hungry(or you want to share, but that never happens for me.)

I don’t come here a lot but when I do it’s either a hit or miss. It’s either they get your order correct or they goer your order wrong. And this is because the lady at the cashier is asking you for your order while she is handing out food or talking to people. I ordered a mozerella BLT and she said yes and repeated my order then rang me up for a apple, ham and cheese. The wait is long and the lady at the cashier gets to fluster.

Effin gross!!! I ordered a chicken ceasar salad thinking it was a «safe» bet but WOW, it was soggy, dressing had no taste and I swear this meat is turkey and not chicken. Never EVER again.

The BEST sandwich I have ever had. Its so simple but everything about it was fresh. It was delicious. I had a turkey sandwich for my meeting for my job, it was so good. I will have to visit them at their downtown location.

I don’t understand why this place has such a low star rate. I first heard about 1132 because of my office, when they would have it we would order fresh roast turkey sandwiches. I believe that they no longer carry that at all but they still have generous portioned out sandwiches and soups are quite delicious! I will always order a focaccia BLT and corn chowder(if available, soups change daily). Their focaccia bread is absolutely delicious and the bacon in the BLT is so extremely crispy with lots of flavor that I can’t get enough of it! The size of the half sandwich is almost more than enough for me that I am able to share with my boyfriend a few bites. Another favorite sandwich is the turkey sandwich on wheat. They really stack the turkey cuts on there that there’s enough for two servings easily! I love the little mama-san that works there too, she’s just too nice! If you haven’t gone there you should check them out!

Terribly inconsistent. I bought two chicken curry sandwiches one day, and it only had a very thin layer of chicken curry, and mostly lettuce. Charged me $ 6.50 for a lettuce sandwich. I called to complain and they said they would call me back. No call back.

This place has been on my to-go list for a while now, but I just never had time to actually stop in and get something. I was overjoyed to see their stall at the farmers market today on fort street mall. I ended up getting their turkey cranberry sandwhiches for just some change short of 7 $. The sandwhiches itself was okay. To be honest, it looked much better in the stall than when I actually sat down to eat it. The majority of it was bread and whatever strange turkey they had used, they definately seemed to have skimped on it. I also expected it to have more flavor to it, but it was fairly bland except for the cranberries. Where they used less turkey and no cheese, they overconoensated with cranberries which I think was highly disappointing. There was supposed to be brie cheese on there, but there was none. All in all, if I do decide to try this place again I’ll Def stay away from this sandwhich and perhaps try a salad instead.

I couldn’t remember if I wrote this review yet so I had to look through my previous posts. I kept thinking about this place and what I would say. With the recommendation of a good friend, I ordered the Ham and Apple sandwich on sourdough. I got the full sandwich and he got the half sandwich and a side of fruit. They’re the same price but wow, they both looked like full sandwiches to us! The sourdough was toasted and the cuts of ham were thick and substantial. They definitely don’t use the cheapo deli meat, but cuts that are a bit thicker and tastier. They also put in 1 or 2 small pieces of green apple. The apple was a nice complement to the flavor but I would have liked a little bigger pieces. There was also a piece of cheese(not sure what type but it was melted and delicious). My fiancée works in the same building and says their base sandwiches aren’t that great(ham and cheese, etc.) but if you’re going to eat here, get a specialty sandwich. Next time I go, I’ll get the half sandwich(*cough* which is actually a full sandwich *cough*) and the side of fruit for $ 7.

Convenient in building location at 1132 Bishop. Has an awesome chicken walnut salad and variety of sandwiches.

I work in this building, so if I don’t have time, I’ll stop here. The food is meh at best. Let’s start with breakfast. They offer the basics… bagel, toast, muffins, pastries, etc. etc. They get their goods from Costco and they seriously charge way too much for a piece of toast. Then lunch. So you get your salad offerings, sandwiches, soups, etc. This place used to be Paradise Bakery so they tried to keep the same concept with the salad samplers, and offering sandwiches with the little bite size cookies. The problem is, the salad and sandwiches that Paradise served tasted great! This place… not so much. And then they do wraps too… but it’s really just a piece of tortilla wrapped around whatever. Not good at all. And the soup… yikes! I’ve tried at least 4 different soups now and all were horrible. Whoever the cook is doesn’t know how to make soup. Not even basic chicken noodle soup. They had a mushroom soup the other day and it sounded good so I got it. Um… the consistency… my co-worker looked at it and said it looked like the fluid that comes out of men. Yeah, you get the picture. In any event… perhaps if their prices were lower, it would be okay but when you charge the way that this place does, the quality of the food should match, but it doesn’t.

3.13.13 I stumbled across 1132 Café on my way back to the office after a lunch trip to Fighting Eel last week… who knew that this gem was hidden in the HPU building?! With Orange Grove right across the way?! HPU students are spoiled with all these eateries! I had come across the name of this café because sometimes they set up a booth in the farmer’s market in front of Macy’s and Ross(Tuesdays & Thursdays)…sadly, I never really stopped by to look at their stall, and I’m totally regretting not trying this place sooner. They offer sandwiches, salads/antipastas, etc. Kind of deli like??? I chose to go with the ½ Sandwich-½ Salad option($ 7.25): Turkey Pesto & the Walnut Feta and Ham(pasta salad). LOVED the sandwich! I have been looking for a suitable turkey pesto replacement since Blue Hawaii Café vacated the Remington College area :(so hallelujah! For the sandwich, you get to choose what bread you want – if you’re a newbie like myself, just ask the lady to tell you what they have; I only heard white and wheat as other options because the minute she said focaccia, it was over. The bread was great – super tasty(some might consider salty), moist… it also had a spread of olive oil? The turkey and pesto was very generous without making the sandwich too messy – ½ a sandwich was def more than enough for me. And when you add in the salad part, easily a meal that could last for lunch and a mid afternoon snack. I have to say the Walnut Feta & Ham salad was underwhelming – wayyy too salty for my liking – but I guess if you like that herb-y taste this might by your style. Overall, loved my lunch choice today! I’m sure I’ll be back again for the sandwich and I’m interested to try their other salad options! Unilocal 365 Challenge: #072/365

Before class, I wanted food and weighing my options I decided on trying their foods here. I always keep away because I’ve heard the foods’ expensive. Oh well, I’m hungry and I need something in my tummy during class and at my internship. After looking at their menu, I ordered the Ham and Cheese on Whole Wheat Bread, toasted. It was popular that day. ( ) Since the chairs in front of the shop are for customers, I took advantage, sat and ate. There weren’t much people, so I took my time. There were a lot of ham and lettuce, not much tomato. I only ate half of the sandwich. I wasn’t enjoying it that much and saved it for later when I got hungry again. They don’t have much napkins, at their counter. I had to ask where it was and took the last napkins they had.

I come here once in awhile for lunch or sometimes before class to get a coffee. Some classes at school are ridiculously cold. Having a nice hot cup of coffee sure helps though! Although sometimes I find their food a bit pricy but that’s because I’m just a poor college student I guess. I’m always balling on a budget. The food here is meehh, honestly nothing special. I never find myself craving anything from here. I usually will choose to go somewhere else on Fort Street mall before I come here.

Too bad I can’t give this place ZERO stars. I passed this place a few times when I would walk through the building but today I decided to try this place out. I made the mistake of wasting $ 8.08 here. I will not go back. The lady that was helping the customers in the front was so grouchy as if she woke up with sand in her vagina. I mean geez at least pretend to be nice to the customers. There was 2 of HPD’s finest in front of me ordering and the guy says that he would like the breakfast special. The lady goes to the window to tell the back person to make a breakfast special, the lady in the back said what is that? Lady in the front yells at her and says whatever you have back there just make it that is why it is a special! Sheesh you don’t have to be so mean. Then it was my chance to order so I decided to get this breakfast special she was bitching about and an iced café mocha. BOTH of them wrong choice. Coffee was BLAH!!! This breakfast special was a croissant with mozzarella cheese, overcooked hard bacon and salty over cooked eggs. That is just gross I spent $ 3.95 on this special. They should’ve just said how about crap on bread. There was a pregnant lady behind me and she asked the lady what is the breakfast special and she told her in a bitchy voice I don’t know it’s whatever they have back there. Geez you tell someone that you may think they would put spit or rubber bands in the food. I will NOT go back to this place ever again. I will continue to walk past it because of the crappy service, crappy attitude and crappy food.

A convenient place in downtown, I usually pass this place because I wasn’t too interested in pizza or sandwiches, but a friend decided to treat me there for lunch to try it out, and I found that they also sell hot lunch plates, salads and dessert also: Hot sweet sour chicken plate — 3 stars — For about $ 8, the chicken was tasty, but they gave me more bone than meat, the eggplant salad was nice and sweet, and the curry rice was ok. However, for a hot item, the food was a little cold. Penne chicken pasta — 3 stars — I only had a taste of my friend’s pasta, and it was pretty good, but didn’t look like they gave that much for the price. Service — service was ok, and it wasn’t crowded so it was nice and quiet to sit with a friend and enjoy the meal, except for the man who later sat next to our table and started reading out loud to himself. I think I have to try this place again to buy food myself to give it an accurate rating.

Working in the 1132 Bishop Street building, this place is the most convenient for breakfast, lunch or snack. That said, I virtually only ever get my iced tea with extra ice. The menu is pretty good, and I’ve had the catered sandwiches and salads many times and the food is not bad. The young lady who serves me daily is great about filling my cup all the way to the top with ice(as I like) and getting it ready before I make it to the front of the line. She’s the reason I like going there! They have lots of tables and chairs for customers only, but get there at lunchtime and most tables are taken by police officers and/or HPU students. Any other time, plenty of seating options. The building is super clean, so eating at 1132 is cool and comfortable… a little different experience than what you get out on Fort Street Mall.

I am definitely one to speak my mind and unfortunately this review will NOT be a pleasant one! The reason I discovered this place was because a friend of mine has consistently checked in at this location on Unilocal and as timing would have it, I was looking for a sandwich place for an event that I had coming up. So I had one of my employees connect with this place, confirm our orders and arrange for pickup of the items. They meet us with our order and everything is packaged fairly decently. The meals were just okay and inconsistent. Some of the sandwich bread was a bit dry and stale. BUT that is not the worst of it… Things began okay and unfortunately didn’t remain okay. It slowly spiraled into why I am writing this nasty review. So a few weeks later when I am reviewing my credit card statement, I notice that 1132 Café charged me DOUBLE of what we ordered. While my receipt has my signature for a $ 232-some odd price order, on my credit card statement they charged me $ 500-plus dollars! WHATTHE… Remember when i said that wasn’t the worst of it earlier in the review? So again, even with this added on this is NOT even the worst part! I call and kindly inform them that they over charged us and if they can credit our account. Edna says she will look into it and call me back. The next day she calls me and informs me that yes they made the mistake and will credit my account. A couple days go by and she calls me back informing me that she didn’t take down my credit card information correctly. So we exchange info AGAIN and I request a copy of the receipt so I can have a paper trail for my files and for our Accounting department. I give her my fax number and she promises to fax me. Flash forward approximately 3 weeks later and with weekly phone calls to her, she notes that she has faxed it over and will try again. SERIOUSLY?! The fax machine is literally right outside my office and NOTHING has come through… STILL…3 weeks and counting, to say the very least I will NEVER cater from this place again! IRRAZ!
