The honey butter for their biscuits is so delicious! The staff is so friendly and the service is quick and efficient. If you love fluffy pancakes, you won’t be disappointed. Love it there!

Totally overrated. Food was not that good. And not that great of quantity. Doesn’t over refills on drinks and wait staff not attentive. Also, doesn’t allow substitutions.

I give this place 5 stars and I also give Moena Café 5 stars for entirely different reasons although both serve breakfast and lunch and have very similar items on the menu. Jack’s has no ambiance whatsoever with cheap furniture and floors, the servers are totally unpolished, and the food is not great. But they are friendly, and they are very very fast. Great place to stop in for bacon, eggs, toast, and coffee and be in and out in 20 minutes. I like them.

Had a breakfast of mahimahi, fried rice, scrambled egg and biscuit. 4 generous pieces of mahi — so ono!

This is based only on the biscuit and service. Yea, I went in and got coffee and the grilled biscuit and a fruit plate. Friends thought I was crazy, but dang that filled me up. That biscuit though. I’m going to have dreams about it tonight. I might have to go again tomorrow and get one to go. Service was awesome, ladies were so friendly!

Decent food for a decent price! This is the second time that my family and I visited Jack’s. Today, we ordered their Oxtail Soup, Spanish Short Rib, and Combo B(Hamburger steak & eggs). The Spanish Short Ribs was one of the specials of the day, and it was awesome! It was very tender, and the tomato based stew it was in was very flavorful. On the other hand, the oxtail soup was mediocre, and there wasn’t anything special about their hamburger steak. Prices were very reasonable, but I guess you can’t have anything too pricey at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Service was good — the waitresses were nice and attentative. I would actually rate them with 3.5 stars if there was such an option… but that Spanish Short Rib made me round it up to a 4.

Just finished breakfast at Jack! s. We ate the following: Eggs and fish of the day(mahi) was excellent upgraded to have the fish«Hawaiian style» with rock salt, pepper and garlic powder. The Mahi was cooked to perfection. I opted for fried rice which was also good. I also opted for the featured Jack’s biscuit which was nice and fluffy The others had the fish(again, mahi) omelette which which they liked, they upgraded to kimchee fried rice which they also liked. Oxtail soup which they liked and finally the last person ordered oatmeal which was most definitely packaged. As with most places on Oahu price was fair(for island pricing) and the portions large.

The food was decent I was expecting more flavor of the Hawaiian fusions. Cute mom and pop shop, they are nice.

I have been coming to this place since my friend introduced me to it in high school which was about 15 years ago. The infamous buttermilk biscuits with honey whipped butter is something you must order! I usually get the hamburger steak and eggs combo. The buttermilk pancakes are also something you must try.

Very nice dinner. Breakfast was very good, tasted fresh and customer service was good. Parking is no issue and wait time was not either. Great place to relax and have a good meal to start the day.

I ordered a large diet Pepsi no ice. I watched them as they tried to hide pouring carbonated water into the cup before filling it to the top with two 12 ounce cans of soda. I will not be back because of the unethical business practice and will not be recommending this place to anyone. If this is what they do where the customers can see I can only imagine what they do in the kitchen. I ordered the Chinese mushroom chicken. It was mostly bone and what little meat there was was fatty. The mushrooms were so rubbery i couldn’t eat them. Over all this was not worth the $ 12 and change.

You may not think of this place and it ain‘t the coolest but the consistency and the Breakfast Mahi are worth it. Try it with eggs sausage and hash browns. Good local style grinds

Thanks to Unilocal,we found Jack’s while visiting from Wisconsin. We had a small wait for a table, but we did come on a Sat morning. The service was fast and the food was fantastic! We had been trying to eat where the locals eat, and we were not disappointed. Great food, great prices!

1. Verdict/Value: It’s like a Zippy’s away from the tourist areas — good food, cheap prices, a great place for locals! 2. Food: The two egg breakfast($ 7.50) was a great start: two eggs your way, a choice of meats(hamburger steak in my case), and a choice of carbs(hash browns and a biscuit in my case). The eggs and hamburger steak were hard to mess up, but the hash browns were a little bland — nothing that salt, pepper, and/or ketchup couldn’t rescue though! Unlike other Unilocalers, I got a fresh baked biscuit(rather than grilled) and it fantastic! Light, airy, not too salty(as done in many places), and it tasted great with the honey butter that came with it! A side order of a single pancake($ 2.50) rounded out my breakfast, and it too was thick, airy, and fluffy — yummm… better than Zippy’s and on par with Koa’s! The kalua pork($ 9.25) was pretty standard fare for Hawaii — the saltiness of the shredded pork mixed nicely with the shredded cabbage. The accompanying corn provided sweetness and the upgrade from white/brown rice to fried rice($ 1.25) was definitely worth it — it’s not mochi rice, but the texture and flavor suggest that Jack(supposedly the cook behind the scenes) really did come from Hong Kong many years ago… 3. Service: When it’s quiet, it’s good. And it gets better if you speak Cantonese. When it’s busy in the restaurant(which it often is, since the place is popular), then the ladies start rushing a little, take longer to get to every table, and service falls off the tracks — minus one star for this review! 4. Atmosphere: Was it a country-themed place before? It doesn’t fit the standard Asian restaurant motif; however, it’s clean, pleasant, and has a fair number of square and round tables for couples, foursomes, and more. Keiki do well here, though larger groups with more than 6 may be challenged. All of this, with the very reasonable prices and decent food, and the ample parking in the Aina Haina Shopping Center make Jack’s a tough place to pass up!

A definite go-to for delicious breakfast/brunch/lunch food! Located in the Aina Haina shopping centre, there’s always parking as well as other eateries, but Jack’s is a must! However, nobody that currently works there is named Jack. The current owners, Norman and Michelle, are the sweetest! I can guarantee you a 5 for excellent service. Haven’t been there in a bit, but last I went, I didn’t regret getting the Kim Chee fried rice and the Jack’s Special Club breakfast with guava juice. Pancakes, yum! Give the biscuits a try; don’t you dare leave without getting one. You will miss out, my friend. No regrets! Thank you, uncle and aunty, for always being amazing :)

Sooo this review is strictly for breakfast. I’ve not tried there for lunch. I just… don’t get it. This place isn’t bad but the breakfast is very standard. Like on the same page as having a Zippys or Koa Pancake House breakfast(I actually might prefer Koa Pancake house actually). Definitely not somewhere I’d ever suggest for people who only wake up for breakfast if it’s on par with Café Kaila. I guess the good thing about here is that it’s quick and there’s not a crazy long wait(event though we were there on a Sunday morning), and there’s a lot of parking since it’s in a shopping plaza. I had the grilled biscuits, but wasn’t very impressed. It was dry and kinda tasteless. There was this whipped butter like substance with it, but it didn’t taste like anything. The fried rice was just ok. Not super flavorful or anything. Eggs were cooked well. And the portuguese sausage was good. I love when people use good sausage! Pancakes were fluffy though. That I like. Service…meh. I mean it’s cute older ladies. But they talk fast, walk away, don’t check up, take a order and then forget. The waitress came to our table like 2 seconds after we sat down and asked us for our drink order, my boyfriend said coffee, the rest of us said water and a…(looked at menu to see what else they have), and POOF, she was gone. «Coffee, ok» that’s all she said… and then, DIDNOT bring the coffee! We had to remind her midway through our meal. So. Service, meh. Food, meh. Location, good. Wait time, good. Will I be back? If I’m in Aina Haina and just want to fill my belly with breakfasty things, then probably. But otherwise, I don’t think I need to come here again.
