I enjoy their cappuccino and mocha coffee. The times that I’ve come, it hasn’t been burnt, watered down, or stale tasting. As long as the coffee doesn’t hit any of these three descriptions, you can count that I’ll be back! This is also a quaint place to sit and do some work on my iPad or laptop. And the brightest line for me is that when I’m done, I can just skip off and do my other errands around the mall(AKA shopping!). I’ve yet to visit their kiosk, but I do like their actual store front. The baristas are nice and the crowd that frequents don’t tend to be loud or obnoxious(such a plus!)

I love the coffee here. I usually get a latte and they never disappoint me. Their sweet treats are also amazing. I love coming to Ala Moana to get a coffee. Please open up a location in Kaneohe!!!

Prior to this visit, I think I had only been to the Honolulu Coffee Company once … and that was to inhale the fresh, fragrant aroma of coffee … and then walk back out. Back then, I wasn’t a coffee drinker. I merely loved the smell of coffee. … this visit, I went in with a mission. It was right after Thanksgiving and I was intent on trying some of the company’s gingerbread cookies, which only is available during the holidays. So, I still have yet to actually experience the coffee from this place. Everything on the menu sounded amazing, but since I was coming from Gloria Jeans, I figured I would just try the coffee here during a later visit. There were snacks other than the gingerbread cookies in the display case, and they definitely looked tantalizing. But, I refrained and just bought one gingerbread cookie to try. I absolutely love gingerbread, and this cookie didn’t disappoint! The workers were friendly and helpful enough, and the line moved quickly. Plus, this store actually has a decent amount of seating if you want to stay and enjoy your coffee/treats. I’ll definitely be back to try some of the coffee next time. But, for now, here’s what I got: «Girl Gingerbread Cookie»: When it comes to gingerbread, I definitely have certain criteria. Like all cookies I love, they have to be soft, moist and chewy. Secondly, I actually do like to taste the gingerbread flavor … I don’t like cookies that pose as gingerbread but taste more like shortbread(believe me, I’ve had them). I don’t love ginger snaps because they’re crunchier and brittle, so the texture and consistency of the cookie is important to me. I’m pleased to say that these gingerbread cookies deliver on all accounts. The gingerbread flavor was sufficiently noticeable without being overwhelming, and the attention to detail on the frosting was adorable(looked like these gingerbread came from the beach). They were moist, fresh tasting and chewy, and best of all, they weren’t outrageously expensive(under $ 5). I would definitely get these again and was glad for the chance to try them while they were in stock. «Tiramisu Cup»: I really wanted to try this chocolaty dessert. Though tiramisu wouldn’t be my favorite flavor, when it comes to cheesecake and ice cream, this dessert looks positively tantalizing. It features a luscious chocolate, edible cup, a dollop of a cream topping and a chocolate«Honolulu Coffee Company» marquee on top. It almost looks too cute to eat, and though pricy, I would want to try this elegant dessert one day. «Carmela Kona Frost»: Since I can’t handle straight-up black coffee, I’m always keeping an eye out for blended drinks. Though I don’t know exactly what’s in this icy drink, it looks delicious because it contains a caramel ribbon. I’m thinking it’s more like a frappé with a little bit of coffee, and I’m looking forward to trying it one day … as long as soy is available.

The booth located in the middle of the mall, 3rd Floor Bad attitude, drinks are terrible. If you don’t wanna treat tourist nicely then u shouldn’t live in Hawaii. Or work here. Such a terrible experience. I am here to enjoy, but the attitude you treated to customers just unbelievably mean. You shouldn’t reflect your moods to customers Disappointing~WORSTCUSTOMERSERVICEEVER

This place has a very relaxing ambiance. They also had a wide selection of beautiful desserts that I had to force myself to walk away from. I just got a simple coffee and it was okay, I wasn’t crazy about their roast. I prefer the coffee from heavenly’s much more because the flavors from the beans weren’t as fragrant in my opinion, but it is like half the price. A regular cup of black coffee is under $ 3.

By far the WORST acai bowl I’ve ever had. It wasn’t even blended well. It had chunks of acai, bananas and strawberries that should’ve been blended. What a waste of $ 9.

I promise that my parents and I were two seconds away from getting coffee at the starbucks on the second level. However we remembered seeing this place so we decided to give it a shot. The guys were super friendly, especially the one who made the drinks. Major props to the service and the coffee is really good too! Considering picking up a bag of the 25% kona blend.

I used to come here all the time after doing some shopping or running errands in the mall. The smell of coffee would be so inviting, that I’d have to get me something haha! I would always get the Nutty Hawaiian(both iced & blended), an iced tea, or an iced coffee. I would never have any complaints about Honolulu Coffee Co., but after my last few visits(here & the waikiki location), I made a promise to myself that I would not go back. The quality of coffee went down, the prices went up(or maybe they were always that high?), and the service is just – meh. The last time I visited Honolulu Coffee(a while ago), it was around 6 pm, just got done with some errands and so we just wanted to sit & relax somewhere, ya know? I ordered the Nutty Hawaiian, my nephew got a hot chocolate, while my mom and Aunty shared an Americano. Typical Koreans, am I right? Anyways, I honestly will consider myself a super easy customer, I very rarely complain, I tip generously, and I work in the customer service/food industry, so I know the feels. The cashier was friendly, but the barista on the other hand… Not so much. About 5 minutes after we order, we see the barista put up 2 drinks and no name is called, no drink name, nothing. I waited a little to see if they were for someone else, then I went up to ask if they were for Jane, and the barista looks at me and nods her head. Like oookay, what is your problem? And two, I guess you can be sassy & rude to me for no reason at all? Maybe a bad day… Now, I’m not a coffee expert, I just appreciate a good cup of coffee. Anyways, my mom & Aunty liked the Americano. None of us liked the Nutty Hawaiian. I was disappointed. Tasted like 80% milk, with a hint of coffee & coconut/macnut flavor. Oh, and the hot chocolate was also meh, but my nephew liked it. Also felt watered down… Don’t think I’ll ever be back here again. Is it crazy to want to spend your hard earned money at a place with good vibes & product?

Are you tired of starbucks? Cause I am. I went on vacation to try new things. As the line at Starbucks was out the door and continue to grow, this place had a simple pace with only a few in line. The atmosphere was a lot more open then the star bucks around here with plenty of space to walk around tables and places to sit. The coffee was smooth, and not to dark with a rich taste of Hawaiian twist and was simply easy flavor. Get away from Starbucks and try something local and different.

Four stars are for the coffee, which is good. I buy the beans and grind them at home because I like coffee done my way. I don’t particularly like coffee that is made by anyone that is rushing to get orders out. It lacks the personal touch and the quality is not always predictable. I have had really bad drip 100% Kona and really good Americano so there is some inconsistency. Lava Roast is my favorite because it’s bold and clean and the price is in my acceptable range. The only problem is that no one seems to know when the coffee was roasted. There is also no roast date on the packaging. I have asked sales personnel every time I buy a pound; the usual answer is that it is fresh. That’s a subjective answer and I don’t blame them for not knowing if nobody taught them to say anything else. Two stars is for the service because the single line register is really not customer-friendly. While I am in line, several workers will ask if I need the beans ground but only one cashier can accept my charge card. This was not the case in the past so I am hoping that my last trip was just a fluke. I really like Lava Roast and have been buying beans for years starting from the time a pound was priced at 11 or $ 12.99. It is now $ 19.99. I always hope that the management will change their check-out procedure because I really would prefer to buy local.

Love my experience. The food was great and the service is wonderful. I’m still sitting in the coffee shop. The AC is strong and I love it. My server was Konatsu. She was sweet. They have snacks, sandwiches and dessert. Of course they have coffee. You can buy shirts and coffee bags to take home with you to your state if you are visiting. We loved our time here. The people working were all in a good mood. If I worked at a coffee place, I think I would be happy too.

Lilikoi macaron and nutty hawaiian drink was what we got. The lilikoi is a local special, so I had to try it! Very good lilikoi flavors and the nutty hawaiian was just right!

So i wrote a review about this place and mentioned that their merchandise and goodies were pretty pricey– but it has been brought to my attention that their merchandise is all made local which I do support(even down to the coffee bean). I do prefer good deals and discounts– however i do spend the extra dollar without complaint if it stays in hawaii. So– awesome job in keeping it local!

We decided to give this place a try after seeing the good reviews on Unilocal and trip advisor. Unfortunately it feel short on many points. I got a smoothie and my boyfriend got a Kona frost. The smoothie was okay but I knew immediately it was made out of powder instead of fresh fruit by the gritty aftertaste of each sip. The frappucino like drink my boyfriend had was overly sweetened and mediocre at best. It’s our first time in Honolulu so maybe there are better coffee shops around, but Honolulu Coffee Co. is like an island iteration of Starbucks. If you like generic, overly sweetened beverages this is the place to go. If that’s not your style than I would advise you to steer clear of here.

ok let me preface this by saying that I had a terrible customer experience here today. why 4 stars? I prefer honolulu coffee to starbucks now(hazelnut latte !!!) and I’ve always had exceptional service previously. That’s why I was so upset when the cashier was short with me because she kept typing in the order before I was done explaining. «Can I get lattes with the stamp card? is hazelnut extra? can you do it iced?» «NOW you want hazelnut? NOW you want iced? I wish you’d said that all at once» and she shook her head at me like«shame on you». I was just asking if I could get those things because I was using a filled stamp card, it wasn’t like I waited until I got the totals of each one! I was speaking at a normal speed. I was instantly upset, I leaned far over the counter to see the girls name and noted that another worker was watching us. As I waited for my latte, I pulled up my Unilocal because I like to check in if I know I’m gonna write a review later. That’s when the cowoker that’d been watching came up to me, offered me a filled stamp card, said she overheard how rude the cashier was to me, that she would talk to her later, and apologized over and over. I wish I’d asked her name, but she was blonde and very very nice. Overall I’m really impressed with the worker there, that she heard the situation, and did something about it. She could’ve just had a word with the cashier later, and let me leave, but she didn’t want to lose even one customer and that’s excellent. Thank you !

When we’re done running errands whether we’re in the mall or in the area, we’ll come here to sit down and relax before we head home. Hopefully they expand their shop to the east side of the island someday, so that we can avoid the mall crowd. We always order the Nutty Hawaiian and because we love it so much, we haven’t tried anything else. Maybe next time, we’ll be adventurous and try something new. We’re not really a fan of Starbucks, so we love supporting local coffee shops that use 100% Hawaiian coffee. Besides, Kona coffee is definitely one of the best! Although they have some sandwiches and treats, it would be nice if they had some local pastries.

my morning coffee, afternoon coffee… anytime coffee during my stay in Honolulu. boy do i miss that NUTTYHAWAIIANLATTE. never overly sweet. these remain some of my favorite aloha«good morning» memories on the island. i enjoyed the hot better than iced, which i did have on a couple afternoons. either way… it was my daily ritual. macadamia nut, vanilla flavored. on my first day here i hovered over the dessert case. the staffed noticed it was my first time and indicated that their macarons were the best. hmmm, i raised my right eyebrow… but indeed, i was planning to try them anyway. macarons with local flavors. one of a kind for sure. when in hawaii, go local all the way. so i picked out a LILIKOI and a HAUPIAMACARON to start off. my, she was not kidding. the macs had a crunch on the outside, and chew to the bite. inside, lusciously filled with buttercream coconut. the lilikoi filling, tart and sweet, perfectly balanced. the haupia… took me to the next level. that fluffy buttercream just melted away on my tongue. what could be better. my hawaiian latte and hawaiian macs. life is good, and this. this. this… is bliss. tons of wonderful items to delight your stay and those back at home… their very own chocolate bars. one with KONACOFFEE, another with Pop Rocks! yes lol. coffee beans to take back home. Kona bean, the king bean, and other beans and blends are available. of course i brought some back to grind and extend my hawaiian experience at home… beautiful coffee mugs also that reflect hawaiian art. my one regret was never making the time to try that TIRAMISUCUP. look at that thing! they only have it in honolulu, so get it when you are there. i hoped to catch it in maui, but they didn’t have them, nor the macarons either. this was my go-to coffee spot on the island. it should be yours too! before leaving i had one each of every mac flavor, including the KONACOFFEEMACARON, but my ultimate favorites were the HAUPIA and LILIKOIMACARONS… perfect last bite just before hopping the plane.

When I am at Ala Moana and feeling the need for coffee, this is the place for me. Whenever you walk by the store, you smell that brewed coffee that allures your floating body towards its scent. I never get Starbucks anymore because the one at Ala Moana(near macy’s) is always watered down or they get my orders wrong because they’re mostly busy. Although coming here is way of my comfort zone(central oahu), I choose the«Carmella Kona Frost» which just gets me through shopping at Ala Moana. Each time I come here I’ll try something new because of their original styled menu. They sell maracons which have great selection of flavors and have reasonable prices on them. The services of each associate are very accommodating. If you aren’t a coffee connoisseur they are there to help you out. PS: I will never go to starbucks when shopping here at Ala Moana, Always Honolulu Coffee Company. Overall: Awesome service, Delicious coffee taste, Price range is moderate
