The BEST green tea ice cream EVER. Nothing else can compare to its creamy goodness. Also wonderful: — Lychee Sherbert — Rainbow Sherbert

Coconut ice cream, not coconut/pineapple, not coconut almond, COCONUT is what I like. So much so, that I make my own in Anchorage because it’s impossible to find coconut. In Hawaii for the weekend, I needed to find a local ice cream parlor, and a friend recommended Dave’s. My coconut ice cream met my high standards as did the coffee flavored one that my friend ordered. Happy all around. One disturbing thing is that the Sears store in which Dave’s is located is closing soon for good. I don’t know what future site Dave’s will be moving to, but I’m sure it will live on.

The BEST green tea ice cream on the whole Island! It’s deep green, creamy, perfect amount of sweetness and it’s not to hard and not to soft! They are located inside of Sear Ala Moana, right next to AT&T. Yes, they are expensive for a single scoop but it is sooo good! Workers there aren’t the friendliest(from my experience) but I won’t let that stop me from going here. I also sampled their purple yam, azuki bean and mint chip cream… all really good but I would say the Green tea is the winner than mint chip than the purple yam. Go to Yanagi sushi or Tokoname sushi bar and restaurant because they serve Dave’s green tea ice cream for a lot cheaper($ 2 and some change) by the scoop.

At the small little counter on the lowest level of Ala Moana, hidden in a windowless corner, exist this amazing ice cream bar with amazing local and exotic flavors. I honestly love Dave’s Ice cream. The texture is thick and creamy, doesn’t melt too fast or doesn’t freeze rock hard. It is the perfect ice cream. They also have a bunch of other snacks and bubble tea. The past 5 times ive gone, I have been getting the same thing. It was something I never knew existed until I came here. I think its called the Bön Bön Bubble Tea(I posted a pic of it– ). It is one of the best frozen desserts I have ever had in my life. It is pretty much a bubble tea drink with any three mini scoops of their delicious ice cream. With their amazing idea and your choice of bubble tea and ice cream, you get to customize your own creation. I love this drink/dessert. I pretty get the same flavors because it think it is an awkward combination that works. I always get the Honey Dew bubble tea, and for my choices of ice cream: green tea, purple yam and cotton candy. It may seem weird, but I promise you, it will be delicious. The service there is alas over pleasant. Due to the fact that it is hidden in the boonies of the mall, it has never been more than a 10 minute wait to get served. I like how the workers in red polos are so sweet and give you their full attention, one customer at a time. They never try to mass make their bubble tea or take several orders at once. Each workers giver you their full attention and samples of ice cream you want. Overall, this is place is awesome. I will always come here when I can and will only get my bubble tea drinks from here when I am at Ala Moana. I suggest everyone to give it a try. I am sure you will become a fan as well.

Dave’s retail shops are slowly disappearing, therefore I’m so thankful for this one located in town(bottom floor of Sears next to the entrance/exit by Old Navy). It’s expensive($ 3.95 for a single scoop), but it is located in Ala Moana, therefore I can understand the need to cover their overhead. There’s only one flavor that I get when I’m at Dave’s — it’s their green tea ice cream. I think they have changed the recipe because the color is not the same as before, but it still tastes the best over other places like Lappert’s, Bubbies, etc. Please give these guys some lovin’ before they disappear like how the one on Kapahulu Ave did! P. S. they accept Sears gift cards! Woohoo!
