The boyfriend and I came here today for lunch and it was awesome! We ordered the kim chee pancake and naengmyun to split. Servings were generous and food was delicious. Food came out quickly even though there were quite a bit of guests. The service(despite having only one waitress running back and forth doing EVERYTHING) was excellent – she even came to check on us several times to ask how the food was tasting and if we needed anything. She was polite, sweet, and gave the feeling of being a guest in her home. She even packed our leftovers with little dipping sauces. For a little over $ 20 we got 3 sides, 2 main dishes, rice, and a little leftovers for tomorrow. :) NOTES: 1. Food is reasonable for the price because the servings are pretty generous. Better to order«family style» and share than per person. 2. Parking is somewhat difficult in this lot and stalls are narrow so might be better to come for lunch rather than dinner or park next lot over. 3. Rice is $ 1/bowl and not always included in the meal so be sure to ask for it ala carte if you want it with your meal. 4. If you need something… simply flag the waitress down and ASK! She is very busy but so sweet. Overall, if you are in the mood for some authentic Korean food and crave a «home» feel, come here. We will definitely be back for more soon!

Wow, excellent food! I can’t believe this place is so uncrowded — especially with the $ 11 Groupons I bought. What a fantastic deal that is/was! We had the spicy pork belly(requested less spicy and they delivered that) and mandoo. My wife and I split both and it was more than enough for the two of us. The pork was a bit sweet, but tasted great. The mandoo were very good too! I still can’t figure out why mandoo costs 8 – 10 bucks while gyoza or pot stickers usually cost 4 – 6 for the same size/amount — I mean they’re basically the same thing, right? I digress… The kim chi and spicy apps served with the dish were good. Spicy and tasty. For sure we’ll be back to Chogajib. I’m sure glad I bought two Groupons :-) But we’d be satisfied to spend full price here too.

$ 13 for $ 25 worth of food on Groupon. Why not? Especially when they have soondabu, my favorite! My friend and I came on a Sunday and it was quite busy. Luckily we were able to get a seat. The menu has various Korean items and were decently priced. We both ordered the seafood soondabu, which came with assorted banchans and rice. The banchans were just alright. Nothing as a wow factor. The soondabu was alright, though it was a big portion, it seemed to be lacking flavor. Overall it was okay but I would probably check out somewhere else if you want soondabu.

Chogajib is one of those places where the food is very tasty, the service friendly, and access is right on Keeaumoku in town… but many people wouldn’t go there or even know about it if not for them CONSTANTLY having a coupon special available on Groupon, Living Social, or Amazon Deals. This isn’t a bad thing mind you, especially for us as consumers! But I gotta wonder how much money they’re making overall when the deal is typically(or nearly) 50% off($ 12 or $ 15 for a $ 30 value deal), and they also have to pay 50% of what the offer price is to the deal site… so for $ 30 in spend by consumers, they are effectively keeping only $ 6 — $ 7.50 a visit?! That’s insane… but, enjoy it while it lasts — I only go to Chogajib when I have a Groupon deal in tow. So again, this is a good thing because the food is actually pretty damned good! To start, you get unlimited pickled veggie sides like Kim Chee, Kim Chee daikon chunks, onions and pickled peppers, and chilled shredded cabbage slaw with Thousand Isle style dressing… so you can sample the goods and pick at the pickles while you wait for your food. And again, unlimited; you run out, ask for more! It’s free. Typically I get three types of dishes whenever I go(which I find to be a great blend of tasty, soupy, oily or fried, and savory!) — Kalbi short ribs(which are delicious, well cooked, just right amount fat lending to the juiciness of the ample beefy tips, and served on a piping hot simmering skillet); Chive Jun(well done and typically not too oily, depending though on which kitchen staff is working that night — but it’s a LARGE18″ plate of JUN); and a soup(chige), usually seafood or kim chee tofu. Whether you like spice or not, the base dishes aren’t too hot for any palette… and you can always ask for chili if you like turn up the heat, so don’t be shy and order any dish on the menu. One thing to keep in mind are the JUNs(Korean pancake)…the Chive is my favorite, and it’s one of the largest… but not all jun are created equal my friend. For instance, the potato jun is underwhelming at best; much smaller at around 10″ plate, and basically a super oily hashbrown… stick with the chive or kim chee jun, those are awesome.

Great customer service but lacking quality and flavor in the food. I lived with Koreans for 4 years(lived near Ktown for 8 yrs) and know how everything I ordered to the side dishes were supposed to taste like. I probably will come back if I am craving oxtail soup and the places nearby are closed.

One of my friends bought the groupon for this place so we decided to go here! This place is a little hidden where you can actually miss it! It is located before the Keeaumoku Supermarket! We came around 7ish and there were a lot of open tables. When we sat down, they gave us a small plate of salad. After looking over the menu, we ordered the fried mandoo, kimchee pancake, spicy pork belly, and bbq chicken. Then they gave us banchan: kimchee, radish, and pickled peppers. Fried Mandoo: Yummy! It was big too o. o Kimchee pancake: Was very big… I think we forced ourselves to finish it. it was good but the only thing that kind of ruined the dish was how the kimchee was in chunks instead of strips… So when it came out, we thought it was pineapples. Spicy pork belly: If you like spicy, then this is a good dish. It has a lot of sauce but we couldn’t finish since we were full. There were a lot of pork belly pieces. Bbq chicken: Oooooooh this was so yummy!!! The chicken was soft and cooked perfectly! I think this was my favorite dish out of the four we ordered! Service wise was a little slow, but can’t complain since there’s only two of them working. I saw a table where they had to keep raising their hands to get their attention. Tip for those that wants to go try, I recommend you guys calling them over because they don’t really check on you unless there is a dish coming to you. We had to call them over a couple times to refill our water. Overall, this place is not so bad. I would come back but probably with a groupon since this place can be a little pricey. :O

Fairly close to authentic Korean food. Good service during lunchtime. This place offered lunch specials and a variety of meals. Though the staff are Korean, the waitress who served my table spoke English.

Been there for lunch several times. Always good fast service and good food. This time we had the Nagmyun, a Korean cold buckwheat noodle soup and the Seafood Korean Pancake. Both were excellent. The soup broth was super good and refreshing with a slightly sweet vinegar taste. The Seafood pancake was thin, crispy and had good garlic flavor. The room is simple and clean. Lots of metered parking in front.

I don’t know if always having a deal on Groupon is the best thing. Does that mean the establishment can’t get steady business without it? Then again, that’s what pulled me in to try this place. FOOD: We had the typical banchan: radish and cabbage kim chee, chopped cabbage with dressing, and picked peppers. We ordered the meat jun($ 13.95)and kim chee jun(9.95) to share(kim chee jun doesn’t come with a side of rice). The kim chee jun was definitely big enough to share and flavor was good but it was so soggy. None of that nice crispy outer layer. The meat jun was alright, typical flavor you can get anywhere. SERVICE: Good enough. There was only one lady working the restaurant during the lunch hour. We could’ve used a refill on our waters but I understand things get hectic when there’s only one person managing everything. The food we had today doesn’t compel me to come back but the Groupon would so I can explore more of the menu and find that one stand-out dish.

Purchased the Groupon and arrived just before 7pm to try this place out. Got seated right away and delivered menus, cabbage salad and jalapeños. And we never saw the server again. Even after closing our menus and trying to flag down someone but no one came to take our order. Numerous parties strolled in after us and they had their orders taken right when they got their cabbage salad! After waiting for 15 minutes, we bailed. Plus each dish was average price $ 15.00. No thanks, bye.

This is a small Korean restaurant it can hold approximately 20 to 25 people. Atmosphere: it is not fancy, quaint and has Christmas lights all around. It has a large screen TV that had the football game on. The volume was loud enough to hear some of the game. There is a rest room for man and one for women. The women’s restroom also had two chairs inside to sit on and there was a grab bar near the toilet for the handicapped. Parking: free parking or you could park on the street. Food: we ordered Kalbi, barbecue chicken and the soft tofu soup with beef. Banchan:kimchee, turnip, spicy pickled onion and a small shredded cabbage salad. They have fewer dishes then most Korean restaurants that I have been to. The chicken was boneless and skinless. It was cooked very well. It was moist and well seasoned. Perfectly cooked. The Kalbi tasted very good. They gave about nine pieces of meat that were 2×2 inches Each piece had meat with A bone attached. The tofu soup tasted very good. We had the tofu soup with beef. My only complaint is the beef was very tough. It might have been better if we ordered the seafood one

We go all the time! Get the Groupon, $ 15 off. The Kim Chee is good, the spicy chicken or beef soup is good, and the BBQ chicken or Bulgoki is great. Big & tasty mondoo, love the fresh garlic & jalapenos, and there are a lot of other things I haven’t even tried! The ladies who work there take pride in their service, and always remember us. Food is good, Service is great, and there’s free parking. Winner!

Groupon deals are da bomb here! Basically half off. The Korean style oxtail soup hits the spot after a night of drinking and the Kim Chee has the prefect flavor. My friend tells me that the fried man doo here is the best she ever had.

Soooooo good. You know a place when they nailed 4 out of 4 dishes. The chap jae was very flavorful and tasty. The Korean soy bean paste soup was absolutely delicious. The cold noodle dish was super refreshing and the broth was just right. My mom had the anglerfish stew and she really enjoyed every bite. I would definitely eat here regularly if I was a local. So good!

Came here for dinner on a Sunday evening around 7:45PM. We were seated immediately. They didn’t seem busy as there were only two other tables there. We ordered the zucchini jun as an appetizer. It was a little too much grease because I guess they must have not deep fried it in hot enough oil or something. It gave me a headache later that night. It was pretty pricey $ 12.95 for ten slices of zucchini. I ordered the ox knee soup as my main entrée and my aunt ordered the deon jung jjigae. She seemed to enjoy her stew even though she was recovering from surgery so that’s definitely a good sign. I couldn’t finish my soup because I was starting to feel sick from the grease overload from the zucchini, but the soup did help wash down the grease. Overall, I’d say that their soup is not too bad. Although a little on the pricey side, I’d still come back if I am craving.

Groupon deals are always awesome! I just discovered a hole-in-the wall place? I would never notice this restaurant hidden in a bar and club location. This place is absolutely scrumptious! We decided to order the Seafood jun pancake(very popular), $ 15, and the BBQ chicken, $ 15. I never seen a korean pancake that big. It was soft and chewy… with squid, octopus and shrimp. Dip it in the sauce, taste is just right. BBQ chicken was my most favorite! Not too burnt, savory, and tender. The taste was soooooo right… and sooo good! Broke da mouth!!! The lady was the only one serving there. There were like 5 tables she was serving… she’s good! Demanding people and such. she still gives good service. Kudos! Will be back for more when I crave korean food!

Chogajib isn’t one of those Korean restaurants that provides a dozen mini plates of ban chans, but that’s okay because their kim chee is outstanding! It’s really fresh, not too sour nor soggy and it’s crisp! I wish they could package it and sell it. Aside from that, the jeon is also addicting and yummy. It’s literally the size of a pizza. Usually I get it with seafood and ask for it to be extra crispy… mmm! The only thing is the menu isn’t very lengthy, but what they do they do well, so I can’t really fault them.
