1st time visit here around 11:30am; I thought they would be out of pastries; looks like I was lucky today. I ordered a take out of their Portuguese sausage chili bowl($ 8 — which was a little spicy, but great… would definitely order it again). It came with a choice of corn bread(spicy or sweet); choose the sweet, as it compliments the spicy chili. The only thing I’m not sure of is that I thought it came in a bread bowl, but mine came in a take out bowl? I gotta ask them the next time. The lady said I could add an egg(I think for a dollar more). I also ordered their Yuzu glazed and chocolate Ganache donuts($ 1.50 each — both were great), Pepperoni Epi($ 5 — it was okay, too bready for me), and 2 An Pans($ 1.55 each — one with Azuki /one with Lima Bean — both were ok as well, also too bready for me; I prefer the ones from Liliha Bakery which use a softer bread). Service here was great. I will be back to order their chili and Yuzu donuts again. Their breads looked pretty good too; maybe will try their hotel bread next time; the lady said it has a little sweet taste to it. :)

Scratch baking at its best! If you’re in Manoa, make sure to stop by the Breadbox. The epis are to die for, the different quick breads shouldn’t be missed, the hotel bread makes amazing French toast, and the cookies and donuts are perfection! Everything is scratch baked daily, so freshness is guaranteed. Reasonable prices and fantastic customer service round out the overall wonderful experience! So glad we finally checked them out after drooling over their Instagram feed for almost a year now! Plus, if you have allergies, they had local honey AND bee pollen, which are the two best ways to combat allergy symptoms, so check ‘em out.

I heard a lot of positive things about this place, so I had to try it out. Let me just say that the service here is amazing, I had a chance to meet the owners and they are very nice down to earth people. You can taste the passion that goes into the food, everything looked so good but some of there popular items were sold out, you must get here early if you want certain items, because they sell out fast. My favorite is the little pepperoni pizza pastry, unfortunately I don’t have a picture, because it smelled so good that I forgot to take one.

I’ve always wanted to come and try the baked goods here since my friend showed me their Instagram. I’ve read reviews that I need to come early because they sell out real quick! The one day I decided to leave my house earlier in the morning so I have time to drive here to try, they are closed! It is a Wednesday and they are closed! I get here 7:45 am and nothing! WTF at least post something on social media that you wouldn’t be open today so this kinda of thing doesn’t happen. I love sweets and baked goods and I would have been a return customer if not for this. So I recommend you call first before heading here, even then you still wouldn’t know if they are open but whatever.

I absolutely love this place. They have new and different items everyday, from breads to cupcakes to doughnuts and so on. There are both sweet and savory items. Everything is homemade and delicious. The owners and employees are also super friendly.

So they’re forcing me to write this because they had this pillowy soft sour dough that was so fn good that they’re not making because they want to perfect it! It was hella good and perfect already. I was so bummed because it would go well with my pizza dip. I ended up buying a white bread which was also pillowy soft and I’m ok with that but I want the sour dough back so others can see it was perfect already.

I had the Portuguese sausage chili bowl and it was excellent. The bread was soft and the meal was delicious A mother with her child was assisting us and was very polite, excellent marketing skills and provided professional customer service. She was able to multitask. I will definitely come back

I received a warm welcome entering the Breadbox and got a good explanation of the different products including the ingredients, flavors, textures and alternate uses. I chose a loaf of hotel bread and the nice worker offered to have it sliced for me even though I didn’t ask which was great because I do like sliced bread! I waited until I got home to eat the bread. It’s soft, dense and flavorful. I ate two slices and put the rest in the freezer for later.

Breadbox is located in the Manoa Marketplace near Subway, Manoa BBQ and Island Manapua Factory. Came here in hopes to try and get the brownie smores. Sad thing was that when I got there around 3 pm, it was sold out :(regardless, I was going to try something since I made my BF drive here from Kapolei. My favorites were the bacon chocolate chip cookies, fugdy chocolate brownie and the heart cinnamon puff. There was a good mix of bacon and chocolate chips. Cookie is soft and chewy. My sister loved the brownie too. It was so moist it would go perfect with ice cream or milk. The cinnamon puff pastry was flaky and soft. Everything is made from scratch. I recommend to go early if you want to get the pastries you want! I probably would also call ahead to see what they have available. Shop is real clean. There is bread available for purchase which I am planning to try. Lots of parking too!

Another first for me. The girl at the counter was super friendly and welcoming. Made me feel like I was a regular here when in fact I’m a noob here haha. She was very knowledgable about her products and I will be back to sample some of their new fancy donuts next time I’m in the area.

So many choices, so little stomach space! Decided to stop here after lunch as we had time to kill and we will def need to make another trip back! We got the bacon maple biscuit, monkey bread, pb&j donut, and lilikoi donut — all were very unique in flavor, the only downfalls found is I’m not a fan of the consistency of the actual donut. We also got a mini loaf of the 9-grain bread(sweetened by real strawberries), will try that for breakfast tomorrow! Overall, I HIGHLY recommend the monkey bread and would go back for more! So moist and flavor is on point. Also need to go back to try the savory items, can’t wait!

I don’t eat doughnuts that much in Hawaii. Call me weird, call me picky, call me a Doughnut-hole… I’m not sure if it’s the moist air, the water, or the availability of ingredients, but they just don’t taste like mainland doughnuts. The funny part is… I love doughnuts… I could eat them everyday. Well, I wandered into Breadbox when I was killing time and I needed a snack(daily occurrence). I picked up a few items to nosh on, and out of the corner of my eye, I see that there are doughnuts in the case. Do I try them or not bother??? I check the flavors and they have yuzu! Yuzu doughnut… brilliant. So I buy the doughnut, along with assorted pastries and a breakfast pastry. As I sat in the car and returned emails, I methodically worked my way through the box of goodies to see if I would get them again. Everything was pretty good… and then I bit into the yuzu doughnut. My head sunk, I said ‘Oh Crap’(to myself), and got out of the car and went back in to buy more yuzu doughnuts. They were Amazing!!! Fluffy, intense, sweet, and addictive… that’s how I would describe this doughnut. I have been back many times to visit Alan and try the rest of his delectables… The egg bread(hotel bread) and the ‘Japanese’ milk bread are very tasty and each has their own distinctive taste. The cookies have great flavor. I love cookies that have enough salt in them… really brings out the flavor of the cookie… and chocolate chips. The pastrami epi and bacon epi breads are a perfect snack. Each ‘bulb’ is stuffed full of meaty goodness, and he uses a pinch of mustard in the pastrami epi, which really balances out the pastrami. I will be back soon, now that I noticed he is making chocolates as well. But my new addiction from here… lilikoi doughnuts…

How have I managed to survive without coming to this heavenly place sooner?! My tummy has been missing out on all of this deliciousness and so is yours! I’m not much of a pastry fan as I don’t usually eat donuts or biscuits or even cookies. But I wouldn’t mind having this! Breadbox Hawaii knows how to make people happy not only with their food, but also with their customer service. Both visits, I walked in late on a weekday afternoon to see that their shelves we’re almost empty. :(They have a few items left but their selection is limited since everyone bought everything earlier in the day. :( Cranberry Cream Cheese biscuit with a strawberry drizzle($ 2.45). So delicious; let me tell you! My intent was so eat half of it and save the rest for later. I wasn’t very hungry. I took that first bite and I thought I had just chomped on a piece of heaven. I just couldn’t stop! Next thing I know, it’s all gone and I’m wishing I had bought more. Good thing I can come back! :) Chocolate Bacon cookie which was awesome if you like sweet and salty! Cookie was moist and very flavorful. You could taste the bacon and chocolate! It was a nice ratio between the two and they weren’t skimpy with the chocolate or bacon! I hate when other places only put in one or two chips :( Monkeybread($ 1.00/slice) wasn’t what I had expected. Maybe i confused myself with monkeybrains? The one you pull apart that tastes like cinnamon rolls? Taste of peanut butter and chocolate in a loaf. Wasn’t incredibly moist. Banana bread wasn’t like Ani’s if you’ve had that. The banana wasn’t strong and the loaf was on the drier side. I probably wouldn’t buy this again. Maple Bacon biscuit, like the cranberry cream cheese biscuit was good! However, I prefer the cranberry over this one because this one was saltier from the bacon. There we’re real pieces of bacon though! Pastries run about $ 1 to $ 3. Breads are more expensive about $ 7 a loaf. I still have yet to try their melon pans but each time I go, there’s only the strawberry ginger one. So if you want a quick pastry and some extra dollar bills, try stopping at Breadbox! They have plenty of parking available! Here’s the catch: they stay open until they sell out. According to the server, majority of their stuff sells out by 12:00pm on weekdays and weekends. So go in early! However, I stopped by around 3pm and they still had some pastries. I’ll have to come in early on a weekend to see more of their menu but from what I’m seeing already, I like it and would recommend it! Also, minimum $ 10 to pay with a credit card!

You pretty much need to decide what’s your first priority when it comes to timing your visit. Don’t come too late or the donuts will be sold out. But don’t come too early if your heart is set on a bacon epi because those savory items churn out around 11:30am — closer to lunch time. The donuts are heavenly. Soft and sweet. They also offer a variety of cookies, breads and even mousses as well as freshly baked bread. Service was super friendly! Located in Manoa Marketplace next to Wholesale Unlimited. For purchases under $ 10, cash only.

Came to this new bakery when the doors opened on their first day. They had a lot of interesting selections and the owner clearly puts in a lot of effort to separate himself from the average bakeries nearby. I like that they have ‘adult’ alcohol flavored donuts. The melon pan and their specialty diamond shaped pastry with filling were the best items, but the biscuits were decent enough and the banana bread was good as well. I was disappointed that they didn’t have Mango Lemon bread which was mentioned by another reviewer in their soft opening. I’ll bet that would have been great. Overall, I liked Breadbox a lot and will probably see how they are doing the next time I’m in town. «I’m a fan.»

Great new spot for pastries, snacks and desserts. They have an array of different items from breads, Japanese pastries, cookies, mousses, and donuts. But by the time i got there at about 9am, more than half the items were sold out. I had an An Pan, Breakfast pan, Old Fashion sour cream donut and a ganache donut. Everything tasted fresh and yummy. The breakfast Pan is topped with bacon and egg with a smudge of mayo. The sweet bread, saltiness of the bacon is brought together with the mayo to make it savory and moist. The two donuts i had tasted similar but different. I like the old fashion a little better. Both were cake-like but not too dense. I usually don’t like cake type donuts(KK kinda guy!), but these were yum. An Pan was just ok for me. I ate it later in the afternoon so it didn’t have that fresh taste by then. As of now they do not serve gluten free items. I heard another customer asking and they stated they will start a gluten free day in june. They want to make sure all their equipment is well cleaned the day before so it will not affect those that are sensitive. Customer service was great, everything was explained well and they seemed very eager to serve and earn your business and loyalty. Seems they already have regulars already. Great start Breadbox Hawaii!
Soooooooo incredibly excited for this bakery to open in place of old, beloved Bakery Manoa! I usually want my fix of Liliha Bakery once in awhile, and to see that Bakery Manoa wasn’t open at convenient hours of the day… my pastry and sweet cravings were hardly ever satisfied. Until NOW! I love St. Germaine’s, Liliha Bakery, all the little bakeries in Shirokiya, so I’m super excited for Breadbox! They are a great addition to Manoa Marketplace. It really is the bakery Manoa has been ready and patiently waiting for! Their selections are unique, in taste as well as how they make it! No fillers, no preservatives… all natural and all GOODNESS in one bite! I got the cranberry cream cheese biscuit with strawberry and the breakfast pan! Mike, the owner, came up with the recipe for the breakfast pan and and it beats Liliha Bakery version of it! Their prices are comparable to Liliha Bakery, but because Mike also owns awesome Baby Awearness upstairs with his wife, I’m already automatically loyal! They generously give out samples, and considering the traffic in there… I think they’re hiring! Congratulations to Mike for the grand opening of this place! And I pray all the success for you guys!
