Came here because I wanted an acai bowl and I saw that they had acai bowls in the UH newspaper with an added 10% off. I got there around lunch time 1130 or so and there was a line, about 4 other people in front of me with a few others waiting for their food. When it was my turn, I had to wait a little before I ordered as the cashier prepared some of the plates with rice and salad. When it was my turn I ordered the smaller acai bowl for $ 6.95+ tax, theres also the larger size. With my 10% off I got it for $ 6.53, so about the usual price for acai bowls around the island and maybe even a bit cheaper. I had to wait about 5 mins for the cashier to make my bowl, which also comes with a free small soda. While waiting I looked over the rest of their menu and the food sounds really good, not just your typical steak, fish and chicken choices, and here its not $ 6 plates, more like $ 6.95 for the steak, fish and chicken choices. However, they also have korean kalbi ribs, loco mocos, shrimp scampi, etc. Looking in the back theres only one lady who cooks everything, and boy does she work hard, so be aware that if its crowded then there will be quite a wait. She works fast though and a customer even commented her that their dish was cooked well. As fore my acai bowl, it was just good but just okay, nothing to wow me. It was also more icy texture/consistency. it comes top with a good layer of granola some bananas, blueberries and a strawberry drizzles with honey. I dont know if thats $ 7 worthy but it was okay to satisfy my craving. I def want to come back here to try their food items.

We love this place! We think that out of all Blazing Steaks in Hawaii, this by far, is the best. Not only is the steak quality great, but they also serve acai bowls! This is the only location we know of that serves that and they’re delicious! Unlike the Ala Moana location, they actually ask you how you want your steak to be done. And they also serve fried rice all day! The only downfall about this place is that the staff is a little unfriendly. So if you’re going there to make friends with the staff, this is not the place. Though we haven’t tried any of the shrimp or chicken plates yet, if you wanna eat a yummy steak plate for a good price, you should definately come here!

Rating: 3⁄5(1 more star from my last review) Date(s) visited: 12÷3÷2010, 11/24/2010, 10÷22÷2010… Food 3⁄5 Service 3⁄5 Atmosphere 3⁄5 Price 3⁄5 Parking 4⁄5 I guess I will start eating here on Friday’s, as long as the cute local Japanese girl is working. At least she smiles. She is so much more pleasant than the«Haole,» green eye’d monster that works there. My comments for Food, Atmosphere, Price and Parking remains the same. As for the Service, much better… as long as cutie is scheduled to work.

Ruth’s Chris, they aren’t. You really can’t expect much for $ 7 when buying a steak plate. But, the food is reasonably good though the steak is a bit fatty sometimes. Still, though, it is good food for $ 7. Service is average-to-good. The food is probably 2.5 stars, but the quantity and the«just cooked» steak or chicken pushes them up in to the 3-star range. They do have outdoor seating, though. And that means I can bring my snow dog. That alone is worth an extra star!

Went there this week for a quick bite to eat. They always have fast service especially since they cook the meat once you order. They serve typical plate lunches that you would find in Hawai’i. It comes with two scoops of rice and some salad. The only thing that really bothers me about the food is that there is never enough dressing on the salad, I am not a rabbit. For one type of meat it is about $ 6, there are also combo plates from $ 7-$ 10. You get the options of steak, chicken, fish, and shrimp. For each type they have different preparations such as grilled or a thai peanut sauce. I like just the regular steak plate the most so far. It is great when you want to get a cheap meal in a hurry and the proportions are good sized. Just be prepared with cash because that is all the accept!

man, where did all these steak places come from?! i was hungry after school and decided to pick up some food for me and a friend. i saw blazin’ steaks driving down in manoa and i had to get some. its been awhile since my last steak plate. the wait was pretty long for two 8 oz plates. the steaks were already cooked but i guess the lady was slicing up all the steaks in the process, meh. i got my friend ranch dressing on his and the guy loaded up on the dressing. maybe next time i’ll ask for light dressing. the two scoops of rice were HUGE. waaaay too much for me but that’s ok! ok now on to the steaks! they cut them up into tiny bite sizes. maybe it was good since you get more bang for your buck since they measure it out? idk! cant complain since its like any other steak plate kiosk around. whichever the case, i was full off six dollars and got my starch, protein, and serving of veggies :) gonna try the fish next time. opakapaka for $ 6?! not gonna have that great expectations but we’ll see

What a puny portion! Now I know it’s not a fluke, because my boss got us plates from the Blazin’ Steaks in Kalihi one time and we were all still hungry after we polished it off. An 8 oz portion of steak is $ 6 and 16 oz is $ 10. All plates come with white rice, salad, and a soda or water. I got a combo with the steak and pan-cooked shrimp with a little bit of garlic butter. When I opened the styrofoam container, I was so sad to see only a little bit of steak nestled in the corner of the box, while two huge mounds of rice and a tossed iceberg salad took up the rest of the space. The shrimp was of good size and there were 5 of them, but I really wanted more meat! The small amount I did have tasted good but not great. If I return, I’m only doing the 16 oz plate. But honestly, their 8 oz regular portion does not seem like 8 ounces to me. They also serve chicken and fish with various sauces, such as Thai peanut and Korean BBQ. The service was friendly, but I had to wait a long time for my medium rare order, and I was the only customer.

Yummy steaks and bbq type stuff. Big portions and reasonably priced.
