I got the steak and garlic shrimp, the steak was very little and all flat, it looked less than an oz. I had more rice and salad then meat and shrimp and my meat wasn’t cooked right. This place in my opinion rips people off. Won’t bother coming here again

One of my favorite places to stop in for food when I’m hungry and can’t decide what I want to eat. Always get a steak plate and the free little drink with plate purchase is great! The inside could use some tough love but I never stay inside to eat and my food has always been exactly what I wanted

Not impressed. Figured i would try this place out so I got a steak sandwich and acai bowl. I feel gross after eating here because it’s so unhealthy and the food is mediocre at best. The acai bowl was frozen sherbert and way to sweet. Im pretty sure that’s not how it’s supposed to be. The sandwich was just ok and greasy. I definitely will not be returning.

Super bad. This place has really gone downhill. Idk if their other locations are better but this one sucks now. I got a grilled chicken plate and a steak & chicken plate for my bf. The CHICKENWASPINKINSIDE. It made sense now why the order came out so fast– they didn’t even cook it all the way through! The chicken also tasted super bland. No seasoning or anything. My bf’s steak was also pretty crappy. It’s not even how it used to be before. it’s like some type of fatty flank steak now. Not the good, juicy, meaty steak it used to be. Nope. Not going here again. I noticed that they have a lot of different food choices now but if they’re going to be sacrificing quality for a wider variety of food choices, I would rather have just a few choices and higher quality food.

I’ve gone to this Blazin’ Steaks location several times, and it used to be pretty good. I’d usually get a large garlic steak plate to share, or a regular plate for myself. The portions were pretty good and the prices reasonable. But it just went seriously downhill. The steak portion and quality got smaller and smaller. The final time was last January(sorry, just got around to uploading pics!). We ordered a mahi and steak combo plate to share it it was just gross. The fish was fishy and barely seasoned. The«steak» should not be called that. Like others have said, it was more like a bulgogi meat, but without any flavor. I don’t know if they changed owners or what? The extra star is for their service — their cashier is always nice.

I normally go to atkinsons blazing steaks, but today they were closed. So opted for this location since it was closer. Made a take out order of 2 Large Steak And Shrimp Plates. I ordered mine with brown rice. She gave me an estimate of 5 – 10 minutes. We got there in about 15 minutes with good parking ^_^ Sent my BF inside, 5 minutes later he came out with our food and 2 small drinks. We had no idea it came with drinks. Which is a plus because most blazing steaks don’t do that. The steak is thin, but a lot of the blazing steaks I’ve been to cut their steak that way. I got what I paid for and the service was A1 Lol ! Also, the shrimp is already PEELED compared to the other location across of the convention center. So I’m satisfied and will make this a Go-To spot from now on. Ohhh and they sell Poke bowls here tooooooo! but instead I went elsewhere. I added half a pound of Spicy ahi poke from foodland(right down the road from here) and OMG it was heaven in my mouth!

I went here for lunch today and ordered Korean chicken. I’m bit disappointed that they don’t have mini plates here. Anyway the chicken was tasty but it was nothing special. It tasted more like chicken with teriyaki sauce and some sweet chili sauce together. The steak here is standard but nothing extravagant. They don’t offer brown rice option and they also don’t give enough salad. Overall this place is ok.

Giving this place two stars because it’s filthy as fuh inside and they screwed up my order. I asked for the Garlic Steak and somehow the girl thought I said just the plain steak? Whatevs. This place is located on the corner of University, you’ll see it from the road. The parking inside this little thing is so small it’s insane, lol. The plates come with a small drink with purchase of any plate. The steak they give you is cut really thin and hardly recognizable as steak. I guess you get what you pay for, but seriously?! I’ve been to way better blazin steaks this one by far has been the worst by far EVER. I have this place three tries, each time equally not impressed, and for that one time they got my order wrong the chick gave me hella attitude. So two stars for you Glenn Coco! Lmao

We came here for an early dinner after a long day and my hiking buddy insisted we grab a bite here — because this place is bomb. Place is on the other side of University avenue across the street from Puck’s Alley in a little mall with Ezogiku and Smokey’s. I got the Mushroom and Onion Steak with white rice and macaroni salad. It was alright. Macaroni salad was kinda bland. Place is really small — just a few tables — but it wasn’t crowded at all. Parking is whatever you get but if you come during off peak lunch/dinner hours you have a good chance of finding parking right in the lot.

I was in a rush and needed to grab a quick lunch before choir practice and found this place off University St. Atmosphere: Bare bones, very much like a grub joint you’d find in a college town. Service: Cashier and cook were just sitting during peak lunch hour on a weekend. I was a bit surprised but nonetheless they both greeted me and service was good. Food: I ordered the spicy bbq chicken plate lunch. Very affordable place and although I was in a rush it wasn’t too bad. Intangibles: Hard to say why it wasn’t as busy as I had expected given its location and lunchtime but I would come back if in the area.

This place is awful. Over priced and have received nothing but bad meat and food poisoning. I am sure they will go out of business in the near future.

I see that this place has an average rating of 2.5 stars but I’m giving it 4 because of the renovations since I’ve last been here. Sure, the last time I came here was a couple of years ago, but I remember that time that it was dirty, kind of dark-ish and they only accepted cash. However, my most recent trip I felt was a big improvement on my last one. After hitting the gym, I wanted a steak plate, which might be counterproductive but… protein! Anyways, I walked through Ala Moana to Grylt and didn’t like what I saw, so I decided to just drive on over towards UH since I knew that there was a Blazin Steaks there. I almost forgot to check the Unilocal page to see if they accept card, and they in fact did, so I already knew that I was going to eat there. I went inside and the wall-paint was yellow, and a lot more welcoming than I remembered. The menu was simple, with 10-ish choices, but I decided to get the Steak with mushrooms and onion. When I ordered, the cashier put a cup on the counter and I was thinking«oh, is this for someone else? I didn’t order a drink.» So I left it there and actually walked away. Seeing that the cup was still there, I assumed it was for me and it was, and I learned that you get one free small drink with every plate purchase!(With unlimited refills!) Just like the old Blazin Steaks! I know people complain about the type of steak and how it’s a little thin, but I’ll say that I was completely satisfied with all parts of my meal: Price, amount, and quality. After all, it is a fast food steak place. I didn’t expect a Ruth’s Chris steak. This Blazin Steaks restaurant gives me hope for all of the others! –JC

I thought it was pretty good. I had firecracker shrimp, extra extra hot. My wife had garlic shrimp. Both were good. I would have given it 4 stars but my food came out about 15 minutes after my wife’s. I didn’t understand that and they didn’t offer an explanation. Food was all good tho.

OMG… I’ve been to other blazin steaks and this one deserves no stars. The meat wasn’t even the chop steak how the others are. I should’ve read the reviews first… Is there no control over this franchise??? Makes me not want to go back to any bc I don’t know if I’ll get this bulgogi looking plate or actual steak. STAYCLEAR! AND I ordered a large steak plate and didn’t even fill a ¼ of the plate

Blazin steaks. are disappearing? Why? Had to stop by here while heading to Bubbies and try it before it’s gone too. This is a really small place. Like 4 tables. I ordered the Spicy Peanut Chicken, thought it was interesting and I LOVE peanut butter anything. The plate included 2 scoops of rice, a salad with dressing, and 2 piece of chicken breast. First bite of the peanut sauce on the chicken, OMG. it was delicious. Maybe I’m over exaggerating it. It was sweet and savory. The chicken was tender. Omnomonom, I finished it all. I was satisfied, and full. It wasn’t too spicy but I do see the chili flakes. Will be back for more when I have the chance. Plate was around $ 8. Decent price and portion.

Nice staff, that don’t know how to cook a «medium rare». I ordered medium rare. Not RAW!

Food was good! Drinks — free refill Service. — friendly Parking isn’t easy to find. Small lot. Other then that — no complains! I wanted my steak medium rare and I got it medium rare. Not a lot of people in there so I got my order FAST! Free sauce. It’s really a good and cheap way to eat steak. It’s not as good as Ruth Chris but it’s only 1⁄5 the price — think I paid around 13 $ for large plate. Rice was yummy. Salad — well ok, it’s just greens and some sauce but its blazin’ steaks not blazin salads. So all good! I recommend is place

They changed from real steak to shredded meat, not good anymore especially for those prices, might as well go to Burger King around the corner. Fake steak, college kids won’t know the difference, I won’t be going there anymore, the food quality has really gone into the crapper. I called and complained and all they did was make excuses, will be out of biz soon …

I come here once or twice a week for my post workout meal. I always get a large steak and eggs plate with all rice. Choke food with all the extra rice(no additional cost). I’ve gotten the salad before but am not much for iceberg lettuce. Obviously a cost thing for them but its useless to me(just eating water…) and I need the carbs after a workout. The steak, I’m always in love with, and the eggs are always cooked fine. I’ve gotten all the variations of the steak minus the kimchee but have enjoyed it everytime. It’s like $ 12.50 after taxes and you’re getting streak so not a bad deal. If it were teriyaki it should be almost half that, but if you’re ever asking where’s the beef, it’s here.

I went the other night with my boyfriend and we ordered the garlic steak plate with all rice and the garlic steak and shrimp combo and we took it to go. I was shocked with how tiny the place is(it was my first time there) and I was even more shocked with how limited of a menu they had(I’m used to the extensive menu at Atkinson St). There were two guys working and they were nice enough to give us each a small drink cup for free. Then I was shocked again when I saw that they were taking sliced steak from a steel container that they had under a warmer and putting it on the grill to mix in with the garlic sauce… Meanwhile they had put fresh steak onto the grill(I’m guessing to cut up more to put in that container instead of putting it towards my plate, boo). After the first bite my bf took of the rice, he got up and went to the trash can. I was really confused and when he came back he said that the rice was crunchy. WTH?!? Those guys either : 1. didn’t know how to make rice or 2. scooped out all the dried up rice from the bottom of the pot or 3. gave us old rice that dried up in the fridge or something I felt so bad for my babe since he was having an aggravating day already and I didn’t have any extra pre-made rice for him in the house. So he just ate the steak and was still hungry afterwards. The steak was sliced very thin and the garlic sauce was a bit overpowering. The lettuce in the salad was wilted and browned. It was pretty gross. I guess I’m really spoiled with how the other Blazin Steaks is and the quality of food over there. So I’m going to stick with what I know and just drive the extra half mile for better food.
