Not a big fan of their sandwiches. It’s heavy on the bean sprouts and tastes do dang healthy for me. With that out of the way there’s one definite reason why I’ve gone there routinely over the past 20 years… breakfast. I like other well-known spots for their fancy eggs benedicts and foofy pancakes… but I come to Andy’s for the best omelettes. My favorite hands-down is the Spanish omelette. Hot, good size and seasoned perfectly. Get it with the home style potatoes. I’ve tried their bacon and spinach omelette too. OK… more accurately I ate my wife and child’s omelette after I ate mine. :) It was good too. And to top it off… Aunty behind the counter never forgets my name when I go there even if it’s been months since my last visit. I don’t know how she does it.

Andys is the best. Great food, great customer service. Always will be a return customer. The aunties there always make you feel like you are going to your grandma’s house as a kid to have a sandwich. There are so many choices on this menu but I always have the Ahi spread melt. Smoky and savory. To die for. Add avocado and you are in heaven.

My favorite lunch stop in Manoa! Super nice staff, super simple yet delicious food! Somehow the sandwiches and salads I make at home don’t taste as yummy as Andy’s. Must be their secret spices and sauces, and food served with aloha. My favorite dishes here include the ahi melt, turkey tuna avocado sandwiches, and papa tostada. Their blueberry and apple turnovers and guava cream cheese pastries are a sweet way to top off a meal!

Sandwiches were pretty good, but nothing special. Fresh ingredients and friendly service.

Yum! The avocado sandwich is healthy and leaves me satisfied! I go to UH and will drive off campus for a good sandwich at a good price! Can’t wait to try the smoothies! Little old lady making the sandwiches/taking orders is so personable and friendly!

I have been going to this sandwich shop since I was a child and it is very close to my heart. I love their sandwiches, especially the Ahi Melt and Mushroom Medley. They also have delicious tostadas. The workers are always so nice and friendly. I also like the fact that they are open early. Sometimes I will stop by there to grab some food before I go to work and it is a great start to my day. :)

Andy’s serves fresh foods which incorporate a lot of fruits and vegetables. It is located in a pleasant spot across Manoa Marketplace. My two-star review is based on only one visit, because I probably will not return. I was surprised that a sandwich shop would offer only one kind of bread(their own which had the texture and flavor of sawdust). They also did not have any yellow mustard available so the counter person suggested papaya seed dressing as an alternative(???). I was expecting turkey breast but the turkey was actually shredded light and dark meat, and mixed together so it wasn’t possible to get rid of the dark parts. Although I had specifically requested NOSPROUTS there was a huge handful of alfalfa sprouts stuck to the avocado, and in order to remove all of those sprouts I had to scrape off all of the avocado. My turkey/tomato/avocado sandwich cost almost seven dollars, but the only edible parts were the lettuce, tomato, and carrots. Andy’s appears to be very popular and there are probably some good items, but my first experience was of substandard food and service.

No sandwich is better than an Andy’s sandwich. The bread is made in house. m and the ingredients are always fresh. My favorite is the hot turkey mushroom melt – whole wheat bread, real sliced turkey – not the gross deli turkey, sprouts, tomatoes, carrots, their«secret spice» blend, and of course, papaya seed dressing, all held together by melting cheese. I’m drooling just writing this… They also have awesome smoothies, salads – gotta try the baby tostada and bird’s nest – and delicious baked goods. I must visit each and every time I come home. The wait is long, and there are almost never any seats, but it’s always always worth it!

I dream about their Tuna Melt with avocado. All their sandwiches are so good, even talking about it now just makes me want to drive to Manoa and buy myself a sandwich… which I probably will… Parking is super irraz here, sometimes I’ll park in the church parking lot but just know that you risk getting towed. I typically park there if I’m just running in to get food. The same aunties that worked there while I was in high school ARESTILLTHERE! Haha. And they look like they haven’t aged one bit. It’s probably all that amazing alfalfa sprouts and papaya seed dressing. Their Tuna Melt is the best I’ve ever had. It normally doesn’t come with avocado but I order it anyway(additional $ 1 – 2 I think) without carrots and ugh paired with that papaya seed dressing is godsend. I don’t really mess with bread that’s not toasted but their bread is so soft and fluffy at Andy’s that I don’t even give a shit. Love it here.

Finally found a great sandwich place that I feel like going back every other day! Living in LA for more than a couple of decades, I was so used to good variety of fresh, healthy, and tasty sandwiches. It seems easy but hard to find here. This place uses home made bread, whole wheat slices, and all sandwiches are made with this bread, no sub or fancy chiabatta or panini. If you like alfalfa sprouts, oh boy you’ll love it here. So far I tried hot pastrami, tuna melt, chicken burger, and Manoa delight. I have not tried any of their daily special(non-sandwich) dishes yet, but they sure look good, and the smoothies, and the bakery! We parked in the church lot behind the store, put $ 1 in self pay box. The shop itself is hard to see but it’s right next to «green» Starbuck’s across from Manoa marketplace.

Come here if you eaten half an hour before and you’re still hungry and looking for cheap eats. It’s right next to this full on green vintage looking Starbucks and is easily hidden by their sunshade. I’m not really sure where to park so I park across the street where McDonalds is. When my friends and I got here, the line was almost out the door but we managed to squeeze inside xP There was so much to choose from and I really wanted to try the ahi melt but it was kinda out of my price range so one of my friends and I decided to split the tuna & avocado for about 5 bucks. She also got the piña colada smoothie. The food came out pretty quick and we were able to snag a table inside(WOO) the sandwich was bigger than I expected and it comes with sprouts and mayo and mustard(upon request). I’m not a big fan of sprouts but I guess it was alright. The sandwich was pretty good for something basic but the smoothies are something I definitely would like to come back for! The piña colada is not what you expect, it’s a more sweeter version because you can’t really taste the pineapples but the coconut taste is definitely there and it’s pretty good that way.

Whenever I come home, it’s full of eating out and drinking with family and friends. How did I never notice Hawaii cuisine favorites are just protein, fried food and carbs? Lots and lots of carbs. After about a week, I feel fat, bloated, and unhealthy. This is where Andy’s steps in. For $ 6– redemption of the case of the unhealthy. My go-to here is the turkey sandwich with cheese, avocado, tomato, lettuce, sprouts, and carrots. YUMMY. It only comes with mayo so no condiment overload. Simple healthy goodness. The acai bowl here is also great. It come in a scoop container like ice cream(probably pre bought somewhere) but I like the texture here, much more hardened and icecream like than some of the thinner textured acai bowls that can be found on the island. A+ for Andys.

Makes you feel home. I wonder why I didn’t Unilocal earlier! I always come here, perhaps every week, when I feel I am tired of cooking or eating outside. I love their acai bowl and veggie burger. the bird’s nest was also good. I ordered small, but it was pretty big! Best place to go and get relaxed for awhile.

Best lunch under $ 10. Always come here for when I crave a salad, especially the birds nest. I request a little more alfalfa sprouts which the two sweet ladies always oblige with a smile. I love the guava red bull smoothie. I never sleep before 1am and I get a lot of $#!t at work done when I have one of these. True mom & pop establishment and Andy’s such a chill dude. Keep up the awesomeness.

I’m not sure why it has taken me so long to review this wonderful establishment. I swear I am here almost every week… ok maybe every other week. But since it is Thanksgiving, and a day to be thankful… what better way then to review an establishment that I am so thankful for. I LOVE the ahi melt sandwich with the papaya dressing. It so so SODELICIOUS! As a teacher I don’t always get to enjoy my food hot due to interruptions so it’s great that the ahi melt tastes so good hot or even after it’s been sitting for an hour! The staff at Andys is super friendly. I swear this place is always busy but the lady making the sandwiches is always smiling no matter what. There isn’t a lot of room but I usually take my sandwich to go. I always think about trying something new but I just can’t bring myself to it!

It’s a little hole in the wall restaurant with really good food. They have many great healthy and fresh selections. It’s a tiny little place that gets busy. They have anything from breakfast to sandwiches to smoothies.

Some may say that this is a hole in the wall type of place, but I particularly enjoyed every bite of my bacon mushroom Omelette. To be quite honestly, I was not expecting that high of a quality from such a small place. Located near the farmers market, this place had everything for a perfect breakfast. The Pancakes are a must have!

Went to Andy’s for the first time in a while and had the Ahi Melt! This place is definitely a winner being about a 5 minute walk from my house. It can get pretty messy eating this sandwich, but I wouldn’t change a thing about it. The papaya seed dressing is the finishing touch to this simple but delicious lunch!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been to Andy’s and it’s always delicious. However, I couldn’t bring myself to give them 5 stars as both my friend and I ordered the same thing. And both of our orders were WRONG. However, it was delicious. And it wouldn’t be a bother if we didn’t pay for it. $ 6.25 for tuna, avo, tomato, and cheese. There was no avocado in either of our sandwiches. Albeit we did go into Andy’s 25 min before closing… but still. Sigh :/we would’ve gone back in to let them know but it closed by the time we saw what had happened. You can see it in the picture I posted. I will of course give Andy’s another shot to get the 5 stars… kind of disappointed my return to here was not 5 stars though.

Ever since Covenant Book Shop closed, I was literally in tears because they had the BEST Hot Pastrami Sandwich I had ever sunk my teeth into here in Hawaii, and there wasn’t anything remotely close that tasted anything like Covenant’s and I was in Post Pastrami depression until someone told me about this Sandwich Shop in Manoa called Andy’s and there was a light at the end of the tunnel and gave me a glimmer of hope thinking that I could sink my teeth into another stellar Hot Pastrami Sandwich that would give me an orgasm of the mouth, and after taking a bite of the Hot Pastrami Sandwich here at Andy’s, I think I had more than one orgasm of the mouth with each and every bite. Located right across the Manoa Shopping Center is where they are located. All you have to look for is the Starbucks at the corner to your left and they are right next door. The parking here is extremely limited and be careful parking across in the Manoa Shopping Center because you might get a ticket or have your car towed. Park at your own risk if you must Andy’s is also a hole in the wall sandwich shop so there aren’t many tables in the eatery and I can tell you that they do get extremely busy during the lunch hours and it can get pretty stuffy in that place during peak hours. As for me, I go after lunch hours when it’s empty and that’s me a very happy camper. The menu here is quite extensive and quite a bit of everything from Soups of the day, Daily Specials, and Sandwiches that are just amazing and Smoothies which are also a delight to try. They even have fresh pastries made everyday which are located at the cashier area. Now if there is one thing that captivated me about this place and keeps me coming back here to Andy’s is the Older Local Lady who makes the Sandwiches each and every time I’m there. She is the sweetest woman who always greets me with a smile and is always pleasant and for someone who makes hundreds of fresh sandwiches a day and has a pleasant attitude like she does is one reason I keep coming back here. Customer Service to me is so essential for me and no matter how good the food is at an establishment, if the customer service is bad and the servers here have a crappy attitude, then it’s most likely that I wouldn’t come back on a regular basis, but this Lady who work the counter at Andy’s is a gem and a total sweetheart. She is so full of The Aloha Spirit and that is something you can’t teach, it truly comes from the heart. As for the Sandwiches here, I always eat the Hot Pastrami Sandwich because I’m a creature of habit and never want to blame myself if I chose something else and wished I had never ordered it, but yesterday I thought take a risk and try the Hot Turkey Mushroom Sandwich and boy oh boy it was another home run choice for me. They actually use REALTURKEY when making this Sandwich, and with Lettuce, Sprouts, Melted Cheese, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, and Mayo, and a lot of love put into this masterpiece, it’s gonna be another option now when I come to Andy’s. I also had the Soup of the Day which was Chicken Gumbo, and the soup too was hearty and was a finishing touch to another stellar meal here at Andy’s here in Manoa. So in ending, if you are looking for a Sandwich Shop in or around the Manoa area, I would definitely give this place a shot and I can almost assure that Aunty at the Sandwich Counter will steer you the right direction if you have a hard time making a decision.
