A good place to get In contact with my imaginary friend in the sky, Jesus Christ! I would give it 5 starts, if it wasn’t for the high school kids playing the sacrilegious, devil guitars. Remember kids, God flooded the entire world, killing all people, babies, women and children for such sacrilegious acts!(Noah’s Ark. Read your bible kids!) Besides that, this is a great place for me to get in touch with my loving God, Jesus Christ!

What a big wonderful coffee house. There is all kinds of ecelectic seating, lots of artwork to admire, many books to read, great service, baked sweets, and the coffee drinks are perfectly made. I stopped there during a visit from Paso Robles to see the town that inspired Marlon Brando’s «The Wild Ones,» and enjoyed the visit. Most coffee shops are small and crowded, but this is certainly not, and it looks like they have plenty of music and poetry readings and that sort of thing often as well.

At one time(in 2009) Mars Hill had a fun and diverse environment were anyone could go in and feel comfortable after buying one of their delicious cookies with a coffee. However, after my last visit, Mars Hill took a 180° turn. From a business perspective, if you are looking for a place that maintains CONSISTANT hours and promotes a DIVERSE(& not one sided) atmosphere, this place is not for you. After they discouraged bands and people from performing there(because music is so sacrilegious), the music scene in Hollister shrinked died. Kinda sad. My suggestion, make the trip to San Juan to Vertigo Roasters.

Small coffee bar, giant living room. Great space for studying, meetings, or just hanging out. Always ask the baristas for a recommendation. I’m personally in love with their seasonal red velvet mochaccino.

Service here is amazing! I love the chai lattes I don’t think I have tried any of their other drinks. It is cozy, the Internet works well. It’s very spacious so it’s easy to find somewhere to sit. I love the variety of drinks they offer also the snicker doodle cookies are amazing.

All you Starbucks sheep are missing out on the best coffee EVER! Mars Hill uses real Ghiradelli syrup, not powder, for my mocha. You really should give it a try — it’s so good and it’s a LOCAL business! Love you guys.

This place is awesome… It’s where a writer can come be inspired or get away and gather their thoughts… It’s a well thought out idea come to life … I can’t say enough great things about this place … The coffee is good, it’s HUGE inside and very comfortable… It’s like the friends house where I used to cut school and go chill at lol. It’s quiet but not… There’s a library section that is perfect. I think people would love it here if they got over the Starbucks addiction … This is everything I envision when I think of a coffee house… it’s where I’d go grab a mug of coffee and snuggle up on one of the many comfy couches and watch the rain fall as I write

This is a rare gem! Great spacious but homey coffee house reminds me of central perk from friends but about 10 times larger with a stage and lots of event space. The drinks put Starbucks to shame.

Always interesting to see businesses use old buildings to their benefit. The place is huge and while the coffee bar is smaller, doesn’t affect the service. Only had a hot tea so can’t speak the to the coffee but if you wanted a place to hang out, read, talk or just sit, drink your coffee/tea and contemplate life, this place would fit the bill.

Mars Hill offers quality products at reasonable prices. Mom & Pop owned with a nice staff. It’s truly a gem to our downtown. There is lots of seating for whatever your needs are. There is tables and chairs for a sit down or ‘get your homework done’ environment as well as couches for a little more ‘home like’ social encounter. They keep it really, really clean in there considering how massive the space is. In my opinion Mars Hill is the best local coffee shop in Hollister.

Defintley one of my favorite places to chill at when im in hollister. I love coming here after school for some quiet time to do homework. They also have pastries and tea in case you ever get hungry ;)

This place and the staff are wonderful. We were in town for the Hollister bike rally(such an event can be very taxing on local businesses). We went looking for a local coffee shop the first morning before things were set up, and it just so happened this place was right across from our booth. It was a welcome place to get away from the heat and crowd during the day when we needed a break. The staff was super friendly, the restrooms clean(and open), and the atmosphere peaceful. Thank you ladies for taking such good care of us.

The coffee spot is big as expected. Nice spacious coffee spot with antique furnitures. They served more than a couple of pastries that would go well with their specialty coffees.

Love love love this place! It’s such a peaceful and friendly environment. I always come here to get my studying on, or to simply enjoy a nice cup of coffee while reading a good book. The place is spacious with comfy, old-fashioned furniture, and lovely artwork from local artists hanging on the walls. Their coffee is way better than Starbucks or any other local coffeeshops I’ve visited. Unlike other coffee joints, you can actually taste the espresso shots, and their syrup/sweeteners aren’t too sweet. Their scones are the best scones that I’ve ever had! I got addicted!

Came here during my lunch break and the place was absolute crickets. If this coffee shop was located in any other town other than Hollister it would surely be packed. The setting is beautiful. Located on the corner of an old fashioned block of downtown Hollister, large windows wrap the whole outside of the building. Great for people watching. The greater part of the inside(which is very large) is filled with vintage couches and chairs, tables and bookcases. Local art and décor help create a wonderful feeling of closeness and community. A stage set on one side of the shop is set with a full sound system and is ready for full band concerts(Live music on Saturdays). The beverages. Simple menu and a nice clean bakery case. I enjoyed a soy spiced chai. Made perfectly. Plenty of choices available and all reasonably priced. Quite a contrast from the local Starbucks located a few miles down the road. I can’t wait to go back. I am a usually a drip coffee only fan, so next time I will be trying that. Prices are fair. Only issue is that they are not open at all in Sunday. ??? If ever lost in this farm town, take a quick break and grab a java from this honest local shop.
