Unpretentious, straight-forward breakfast and burger diner. Can be crowded on Sundays. Portions are large, so refrain from ordering sides right away.

I had the chorizo breakfast burrito once. It was good. This place gets good business and seems to be one of the accepted establishments in Hollister. Lord help us if we ever get a Denny’s or IHOP or Costco or something heavy hitting outside what is «local»!. Lol!

Stopped in for brunch before a wedding and we were pleasantly surprised. Some locals at the bar we went to the night before suggested this place and said it was one of the best breakfast places in town. We were kind of in a hurry so when we saw a bunch of people waiting out front we got a little worried but were lucky enough to see two bar seats open. The place was much bigger then we expected, the bar area was small but there was a ton of tables. I think the wait on that Saturday morning, around 10am, seemed to be about 30 minutes. We started out with a couple of mimosas, of course. I got the breakfast burrito with chorizo and asked for refried beans in it too, super good! They have a homemade hot sauce/salsa also that was really good. My friend had the basic eggs with bacon and potatoes. We were both super satisfied with it.

This place is just OK… The food is not fresh and tastes greasy… Please get rid of those plastic cups!!! They are tacky and make me fee like I’m eating in a cafeteria… Dam what a sham… Could be a cute place

RAINY Tuesday. Got to hollister too early to handle business, got a great breakfast, great service, in a shop where it’s all family and friends. Needed a couch for a nap afterwards, only glitch was the gravy on the biscuit. Seemed canned? At very least, not sausage old-school. Other than that, great spot!

Went to this place with coworkers. I had already had breakfast and was not looking for a repeat but on second thought, I should have. It’s loved for Its country cooking especially breakfast. I went for the chili burger, bad mistake. The fries were good. Tasty but nothing spectacular. The burger patty was bland not much flavor but edible. The chili was actually pretty decent! I enjoyed the top him and the chili! The bottom bun appeared to be thicker than the top and maybe that’s why it tasted different. But the top bun was crunchy and buttery and served well as a spoon to eat the chili!!! Overall I give the burger a B– I would definitely try this place again but the breakfast for sure. If you decide to dine in go for the breakfast! All the breakfast plates passing by while we waiting for our meal looked delicious.

The burgers here are EXCELLENT! I was in town on business. My coworker had the biker burger with regular fries, and I had the ranchero burger with sweet potato fries. Very delicious. If I ever come back to Hollister again, this is my spot.

I’m relatively new to the area but I’ve been here several times. It is by far the best breakfast place. Great food, great portions, great price. I absolutely love it here! It does get busy on weekends so plan ahead. Still worth the wait.

I just had to update my review! I only had 1 bad experience here in the several years that I’ve been coming. Since then, service has been WONDERFUL and the food as always the best breakfast in town! Also, I just recently discovered that you can request garlic oil on your potatoes. It is AMAZING, try it. You can also request salsa, this salsa is the BEST I’ve ever had. Try that also!

Perfect breakfast place for all, LOCALS and NON-LOCALS! Our group of 10 came from different cities about two hours away. We came across this place on Unilocal and it met all standards. It was Located in the downtown area of Hollister and corner lot, therefore parking was very accessible. The restaurant itself was very spacious and clean.(The restrooms were even cleaner!) They accommodated and seated us very quickly and the server(s) were very polite and attentive. There really isn’t anything negative to say about this place because the breakfast was amazing and the service was just as good. They get extremely busy around lunch/brunch(all tables occupied) so try to get there early.

This is a lovely place to have breakfast. Fast, friendly service coupled with good food and plenty of it at very reasonable prices makes me want to come back here again. Definitely stop here for breakfast if you have the opportunity. The breakfast enchiladas were delicious and so were the hash browns… but really, who can eat that much food for breakfast?

If you’re a person who values GIANT portions of breakfast foods — the classic diner breakfast — please continue. If not, move along.(Maybe to West Hollywood or Miami.) Country Rose Café has been voted Best Breakfast in San Benito County for 7+ years. This one is a new location, and the OG location is now called Ding-a-ling? What I ate: Veggie Omelet(which is actually more an omelet-shaped scramble) loaded with veggies, side of sourdough toast and perfectly crispy slab of hash browns, and a cup of coffee(black). Delightful. I’m lucky and got a waitress whose LIFECALLING is to be a waitress. Couldn’t adore her more. Also, the hostess kid is about 12 years old but is a total pro already. Bonus tip: I tried my dining partner’s French toast. GETIT.
