This is starting to be one of our favorite stops before we head home from anytime we are in Dallas. It is the CLOSEST Braum’s to San Antonio The Service is top notch and the burgers are downright mouth watering. Love the fresh hand scooped shakes as well. Ya can’t go wrong with Braum’s when you are hungry for some good Hamburgers and Ice Cream

My friend and I stopped here on our way back to Austin from Dallas. The burgers taste fresh as well as the veggies inside of them. I really liked the strawberry shortcake sundae. There’s also a mini store inside in case you need anything else. I’d honestly pick this place over some of the other burger joints like In N Out or Freddy’s. However, service is a little slow despite not many folks being in line. Either way, I will be back the next time I’m in the area.

We always stop by here on our way back to Austin from Dallas and the service has always been fast. The employees are not honestly friendly or remarkable when it comes to service but they have never failed to be fast at least. There prices are very good and we like to pick up their egg nog during the winter season! Plenty of parking … oh! and their kids meals are cheap and filling, too!

Is it an ice cream shop? Is it a quasi-fast food joint? Is it a mini-grocery store? Yes. It’s easy to miss despite the ginormous sign because the actual building is next door to a gas station, which also has a mini-market. If you follow the ginormous ice cream beacon, drive a little further. There you go. I had a single scoop of butter pecan in a cup. Tasty. Good. But nothing to make me think Texas had some how cornered the market in frozen confections as well as oil, barbecue and guns. If you happen to be driving between Dallas/Fort Worth and Waco, it’s worth a stop. You can fill your gas tank and have a sweet treat.

People are nice, food came out quick, but not hot. The cheese on he burger was stuff and cold. The meat was cooked good, but was like warm. Fries were great though.

I too am from Oklahoma so grew up on Braum’s. Have lived in Austin for decades so when we plan a trip north, I plan it around stopping at Braum’s. Best ice cream ever. Hamburgers are, bar none, the best in the state. Love the fries too. We stop here for the combo and ice cream cone, and by the time we get to Denison, we stop at Braum’s and get another ice cream cone before crossing the Red River. Love it!

I love this place. Whenever I drive between Austin and Dallas, I have to ask my wife if we can plan the trip to stop here for lunch. Parking has always been easy. There is plenty of space to also walk your dog. So honestly, I think they have some of the most underrated burgers. I would take their burgers over In-n-Out, P. Terry’s, Shake Shack, Whataburger, EASILY any day. You bite into that and it tastes like real beef. Bacon — real bacon crunch. A real size — not that microwave stuff you see at other places. Sesame bun that is toasted. Fresh onion and tomatoes. Pickles that have some bite. My wife just gets a plain cheeseburger because it’s that simple goodness. We have to get a mint chocolate chip shake all the time too. Never too thick or thin. This place was doing cherry limeades before Sonic made it more popular. This place was doing their mixes before the DQ Blizzard. Stick with the place that all those addictive things started at. Braun’s is it’s own kind of comfort food to me.

I went here during my college year way back in the days… had to stop by reminisce and have some yogurt ice cream! I love coffee ice cream and their cappuccino chocolate chunk yogurt on a sugar cone is the best!!! Its a must try if you love coffee treats. Its a convenient place to get to. its off I35 and close to the outlet. They also serve sundaes, milkshakes and food!!! You can also get a pint or gallon of yogurt awesomeness to go!

One of the better fast-food burgers I’ve had in a while. Fresh bun, well-done burger, and a thick slice of American cheese. Crispy crinkle-cut fries and a Coke completed a very nostalgic burger meal.

Sure do miss all my favorite places in San Antonio, but if I’m gonna live in a town with so few options for dining and groceries, then Braum’s is a lifesaver. I used to enjoy them on motor forays into North Texas and Oklahoma. But now I live within blocks of Braum’s southmost location. Their burgers and ice cream are outstanding. Salads, too. But we also enjoy their meats, dairy products, produce and snack items. Good store to have nearby.

Good fast reliable food! Great shakes and desserts! Easy off and on 34, which makes it a favorite travel stop. Wonderful customer service. Ask for the peppermint shake!

Stopped in while in town for family reunion. Walked over from our hotel. Cool little grocery store. A tad bit of everything(from fresh to frozen from regular ol food to gluten free foods). A HUGE selection /variety of their ice cream to take home. We also went back in the evening for dinner. It was fairly crowded but worth the try. I had chicken strips, so I can’t account for the burgers, but my dinner was yummy. Fries were good and the small chocolate shake I had with dinner was rich and creamy. Other family members stopped in for breakfast the next morning and said breakfast was a nice size and good as well. I’d say the ice cream itself is worth the visit! We will be stopping in here next time we are in Hillsboro.

This place was hoppin’ when we stopped by. We stopped for ice cream real quick since we were driving through. Cool concept of having a few groceries you can buy, eat a burger and fries, and then get some ice cream all in one place. We ended up getting a shake which are massive, some sundaes, and just regular ice cream. All of it was delicious. Definitely a good place to stop on road trips.

Never been to a Braums before and after seeing them in several states stopped to try this one. I like the concept of the groceries and burgers. Who doesnt like the option of buying stouffers frozen meals and a head of lettuce while buying a burger and fries? It was fun! The ice cream selection for the Braums brand was awesome! I would return for ice cream, but not the burger. The meat was of a good quality just … cold and the burger super dry making me drink my milkshake(emphasis on the milk) too quickly in order to swallow the burger. There were tons of older people there and I was wondering if it was for the food or nostalgia? Anyways, the cashier was kinda short tempered and you could tell she was annoyed when my husband asked what kind of flavors they did for milkshakes. Evidently, never being there before we were suppose to automatically know that we had to walk down the way and read the names on the tubs of ice cream… okay. 3stars 1 for ice cream flavors 1 for clean bathroom 1 for concept of the place If the burger wasnt cold and the cashier friendly I would have given it 5…

I would be 500+ pounds if I lived near Braum’s. The ice cream is just that freaking fantastic.

So whenever we are in this region of the country we have to stop at Braum’s at least once. We got hooked when we lived in Oklahoma. The fast food offerings are nothing special. Their dairy products rock. For one reason is that their operation has the dairy across the highway from the processing plant, so the milk is some of the freshest you’ll get anywhere. Another reason is that they have a special process for their skim milk, evaporating some water from it to increase protein concentration and improving the mouth feel of the fat free product. The best reason is the inexpensive yet delicious ice cream… and milk shakes. That’s my go to item — mint chocolate chip shake! The stores do seem to vary tremendously in their level of service and cleanliness of the restaurant portion. However the quality of the dairy products is pretty consistent.

This review is based on my delicious peppermint(with those yummy green and red candies) milkshake. You can pick any flavor ice cream you want from their freezer and they mix it with milk into a creamy and home-made tasting treat!

Braum’s is where you can find some of the best and cheapest ice cream cones around. The peanut butter cup and mint chocolate chip are really good, yes, better than Blue Bell. You will really want to try their amazing lemonade. Besides an array of ice cream treats, the rest of the menu is very traditional hamburger chain-ish. There’s a small market inside the store where you can pick up milk or bread, their excellent ice cream, produce, meat, etc. During the Christmas season, Braums sells the best eggnog around, so pick yourself up some! Their eggnog ice cream is really really good too. The service may be good or bad depending on who you get. I’ve received some excellent service when a not-up-to-par cone was replaced, as well as really melty cones. The décor is kind of hokey and old, but that’s what adds to its charm, right? By the way, you might get some odd looks from the diners here if you’re not white and rural looking. But it is the most southerly Braum’s location for us Braumsless Austinites.

i love Braum’s. I’m not even gonna front. I grew up on Braum’s. I’m from Oklahoma. My favorite ice cream of all time is a Braum’s flavor!(French Vanilla, Cherries and Pecans) i have been eating at Braum’s since i was a wee kid. The mini grocery store in each location is superb.(You can get fresh milk, cheese, eggs and bacon! My almost 80 year old grandparents that live in OKC still only buy their milk at Braums.) Then you can head over to the counter for a great burger and delicious ice cream! This location in Hillsboro is so important to me! It’s the ½ way point(approx) between Austin and Oklahoma City! So, whenever i need to, i meet up with my grandparents here! This is the closest Braums i can get. They have standards and this is as far as they will get from their central farm /creamery location as they are willing to go. While i wish they would come to Austin already, i respect their business theory. Oh Braums. I love you forever.
