Outstanding! The flavor of the Lomo saltiado delicious. Had lunch today at The Pollo Shack, and I must say it was delicious. Their home made sauces were so good. I will definitely return.

The food is delicious. Been coming here for a couple years. And considering I’ve been eating at several Peruvian restaurants in Southern California, this place ranks highly as far as savory taste is concerned. However, I must update Unilocalers that they’ve recently boosted their prices on all items across there menu significantly… I understand inflation however, there was also a noticeable decrease of meat of their entrees both in the previous chunky cuts and quantity of meat. Glad I found a savory comparable Peruvian Restaurant downtown named Itiriyamy with just as much flavor and fair price.

I’ve not only used the chicken shack 2 times to host 15+ people but it’s my go to for when I’m not interested in cooking. The seasoning on the chicken is outstanding and always so moist. I could bathe it that YELLOWSAUCE!!!

I have driven past this place so many times and always wondered what how the food was from the chicken mobile spot! I tried it out and must say food is excellent! The yellow sauce is awesome! You must use this on your food! I recently went to the El pollo Inka and that place is terrible in contrast to this spot for Peruvian food. A big plus is they are also on the door dash app. If you don’t know what that is its like an über for food basically. A place where participating restaurants allow for a 3rd party to deliver food to your door. I usually get the«Shack sandwich» you can’t go wrong with it.

Excellent Peruvian pollo a la brasa cooked in an electric roaster. The Chicken Shack is a great place to eat in an area with mostly cheap pizza and fast food joints. The classic cut is my favorite plate because for 11.50 you get a succulent half chicken with your choice of 2 sides. You need to try each of the three sauces in your first time around. The green aji sauce and white yogurt sauce are my favorites.

Ordered the lomo saltado… I wouldn’t say it’s to die for but it isn’t bad. It is definitely way overpriced for the portions. I’d still rather go to el pollo inka.

They changed their Chicken Fried rice recipe and now use rock hard, well done, old chicken. Also raised the price 3 dollars for this great change, do not recommend!!!

The Chicken Shack is a small operation on Aviation. It’s now serving ribs. It has delicious rotisserie chicken that’s simple yet delicious. I really love the green hot sauce! I ordered a plate of ribs. My ex husband had the chicken with pasta. I also requested a Shackadilla to go for my daughter. The service was nothing less than 5 stars! The young girl who waited on us always kept our water cups full. I would like to try the more traditional Peruvian dish next time.

Best lomo saltado around! I also love the signature sauces. There was no public restroom however, but thankfully it wasn’t an issue for us. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy but the food is reasonably priced and not bad at all

Ok food, over priced. $ 13 for chicken friend rice! $ 15 for pasta and beef. Not a full service establishment so these prices are not justified. Flys everywhere.

My experience: i was craving good flans so i ordered chicken + soda + 2 flans. the girl taking orders did not repeat the order over the phone, did not ask me what unit i live in. didn’t ask if i want sides. etc Results: the chicken came but no soda no flans! and a frustrated nice customer. her solution: come over pick it up because the drivers are busy!!!(i wish she used better words or showed sympathy .or something!!) conclusion: For the price the chicken gets 4 stars, could get 5 stars if they learned the basics of restaurant business. Tips: Give the girl taking orders professional training or lower the prices. at that price point the restaurant options are limitless example: «el torito grill» p.s: delivery lady on time and very nice. i will still pick up food if i ever drive by however no more delivery for me.

A giant chicken head stuck to the top of a car is what drew me in. … and im glad it did. We had the lomito sandwich and pollo saltado. The steak was nice and juicy and the sauce was excellent. The pollo was about as good as chicken gets. Super moist and again the sauce was on point. We will for sure be back. :-)

This has to be one of my must eat at, when in Hermosa. The chicken is grilled to perfection and does not contain hormones and antibiotics etc. I am a huge fan of the chicken since it’s simply flavorful and juicy. There is a yellow sauce that is accompanied with the chicken and it has such a district taste, its similar to crack, I can’t get enough of it. The sides are typical as far as rice, beans and fries. The prices are also pretty low considering the area so that’s another A+…Aka you can feed a family of 4 for only $ 32.00. I am never dinned in here but it seems as if everyone picks and go. The staff are always nice. There is always parking available.

A coworker and I drove by this place and decided to give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the depth of the menu. What looked like a traditional small chicken house served not just that but also some great Peruvian dining as well. You MUST have the aji Amarillo(yellow) sauce. The perfect sauce for every aspect of the meal. Parking sucks. Can’t avoid that. But its worth a two block walk.

For a place called«The Chicken Shack,» I think it surpassed expectations. It really is kind of a shack, but it is clean inside. There’s no restrooms available, so headsup. Parking is semi-sucky(the lot was full, I parked on the street but watch out when opening your door). The food is flavorful but the Lomo Saltado(which is what I usually order the first time I go to any Peruvian joint) that I got was slightly salty. This is like a «come on a rainy day in your sweats because you’re tired of Pizza or Thai take-out» restaurant. Not really a «bring someone you reaaaaally need to impress while wearing your hottest outfit» type of place.

I used to love chicken shack but with my experience today, I will never eat here again. Ordered my favorite grand chicken salad for delivery and half way through noticed that the avocado slice had blood on it. I posted a picture. So disgusting. Hope I don’t get hepatitis:(

I’ve tried all the other chicken places in the area, so it was time to try this one. After all, it has a yellow chicken-shaped car out front. How could that lead you astray? I’ll have to update my review when I actually try the chicken — I couldn’t help but order the beef saltado when I visited. It sounded unique so thought I’d give it a go. It’s basically cutlets of beef with diced tomatoes, grilled onions and all the juicy meat juices on top of a bed of french fries. Sounds kinda strange right? Who cares — I couldn’t get enough.(It comes with a side of rice too) In terms of price, I thought it was a little steep at $ 14 but I figured it would stretch into 2 meals so it was worth it. Well, I could have done it, but I was super hungry and it was just too good to stop eating. Just mashed it all together, soaked up the juices and enjoyed. Before I knew it, it was all gone. Everything compliments well. I suppose the juicy, tender meat was worth the price. I ordered to-go — was in and out in about 8 minutes. There’s a little bit of seating inside, but it’s not glamorous. I mean it does have shack in the title. I’m excited to try something else on the menu — I’m sure it will be equally as flavorful and satisfying.

We just left the restaurant and we ve been here a few times, our favorite its their Pesto saltado . Their steak its very tender and they have like 5 diferent kinds of sauces on the table. I have tried their chicken and it was just ok, we also ordered their Arroz chaufa and it was from the scale of 1 to 10 ill give it a 8 just a little dry . We will be back for their pesto saltado . Service its good and friendly, be patience cuz they get alot of togos and deliveries. They have a small parking lot and not homemade drinks :(

The Chicken Shack is known for it’s COCKMOBILE parked out front with the glorious rooster head on top of the roof of a classic vintage car along with the tail feathers on the trunk. The service here is excellent, very fast and friendly. The food here is good. I had the roast chicken. You can’t really go to The Chicken Shack without at least trying… The Chicken. This is a Peruvian restaurant, so has lots of other dishes which sounds great to try. It’s not necessarily a rotisserie chicken place per se when you compare the prices to other places or super markets that sell roast chicken, ‘tho it’s similar. Peruvian restaurants are slightly different with a more expansive menu too. Parking is easy. They have a lot, with handicapped and standard parking, the lot is small, so there’s also adjacent street parking in the area. The day I went it was«cash only» but am not sure if it was a policy or if the credit card machines were down.
