I have ordered from DP Dough quite a bit and their food is absolutely amazing. The calzone’s are very fresh and taste amazing. Now you may be wondering why are you giving them a three star rating if I order from them on a regular basis? Well I would say at least one out of every three orders they get it wrong completely. Not just a little wrong, but a lot. I’m talking I order a cheese calzone and a buffalo chicken calzone or a ham, sausage, and bacon calzone shows up. I get that everyone makes mistakes but this is a little much. They are worth a try but be prepared that you may get something completely different than you want.

Call me the Calzone King, Lord of the Zonie, Connoisseur of the Crust. I have tasted many calzones from far away lands and local INSTITUTIONS. I judge on not just quality, but size as well(Size matters, don’t listen to your sexual partner). Let’s just say, before the Calzonies owner binged out on coke and lost his bussiness in Brockport, they had the best calzones in the state of NY. I have never felt so disrespected by the size of the calzone I’ve experienced at D.P. Dough. It felt as if my status of Calzone king had been blown to smithereens by the cannon fodder D.P. Dough brought to my door in the wee hours of the morning. This was not a calzone, but a mere chunk of bread. Chicken, cheese, and bbq sauce were few and far between in the vast land of yeast and flower that continued to dry out my experience calzone palate. My lack of judgement influenced from a compound synthesized by Albert Hoffman most likely interfered with my expansive knowledge to ALWAYORDERTHEPOUNDEDCALZONE but i digress.

The guy who owns and runs this place does a phenomenal job. He goes out of his way to make things right for people of and when they get messed up. He even tried to learn a little bit of asl when we were there, so he could talk to the deaf students. He even shook mine and my boyfriends hand after we got our calzones after they messed it up the first time. Genuinely enjoy going there!

The food is nothing special. I would expect that the calzones would be better than normal but I found that most local pizza places have better.

D.P. Dough makes great calzones, that aren’t too greasy. I really enjoy their speciality calzones. The«Buffer Zone» is their version of a buffalo chicken calzone. It came with marinara sauce, but I think I’ll ask for bleu cheese next time. The«Falling Roc» is not on the menu, but if you order it the staff knows how to make it. It has potato, cheese, and bacon in it. On Wednesdays, they have 2 calzones for $ 10. Each day there is a $ 5 calzone of the day, and it will be in their calendar, and Facebook. Sometimes they feature deals randomly if the U of R or the RIT sports teams win a game. They have fountain drinks or bottles. If you’re in a hurry, call ahead. The inside of the establishment has a few tables and chairs. The bathroom is kind of gross, but it’s a drunk college kid spot, so that’s expected. Anyway, delicious food, decent portions(I usually save half), and not too greasy. D.P. Dough it up.

Good location, fast quick service, competing prices, and the Calzones are great. One of my favorite places to eat in Rochester

Great late night resturant. Its very good but the dough is a little soft. When we got the food it was very hot and fresh. Recommend if you like calzones this is your place thats the only food food they make however this location does offer a rochester twist with their garbage plate zones. My fiancé and i both enjoyed our experience we will return

Every time I called the phone would ring and ring and noone would answer. Id then call and someone answered and hungup without ssying hello, done trying to deal with these clowns. No stars for this poor exscuse of a restaurant.

Live near location and found an online deal — so we checked it out. I was pleasantly surprised! Not the most user friendly online ordering page but was pleasant and easy to call order in. Order was ready in 20 minutes when we picked it up. My husband got a Italian Calzone with multiple Italian meats, cheeses and large side of flavorful marinara for dipping. Lots of meat and cheese in the calzone and good flavored dough. I got a «make your own» with meatballs, jalapenos, pineapple, cheese mix and Garlic Parm sauce inside the calzone. I will say my husband’s was better — a lot less toppings in mine and the garlic parm sauce tasted very artificial and oily — not my fave. The cheese sticks were good with marinara dipping sauce and well done/crispy cheese on top. The apple pie zone — just skip it. The dough is covered with small amount of cinnamon/sugar but flavorless. The apple filling really is missing something — the apples needed to cooked more, seasoned better — maybe a little sweeter. The vanilla icing may have been a canned frosting, but was actually the best part. They have a $ 5 Special calzone daily and on Wednesdays $ 2/10.00 for any. DP Dough is tasty and pretty decent quality for the price for late night or lunch college style eating. They have salads and boneless chicken wings that sound pretty good as well — may try next time. Pleasant and helpful staff. I believe they still have some groupon deals which make it an insanely good deal, check it out!

I came here on a groupon. Not too shabby of a deal. The prices are great for the variety that you get. Most calzones they offer have a variety of stuff you can add or pick off the menu. I do believe some extra meat is a little extra though. They are pretty big. I was only able to eat half. Friendly staff. To start off just tried your regular old simple calzone with cheese, pepperoni and ricotta. Taste/texture– The dough was excellent compared to other calzones I’ve had. Great texture and flavor. The sauce was good. So overall put together I was a satisfied customer. Will definitely be back to try many other yums. DP For the win!

This placed just hit the spot. The calzones are good and priced well. We liked the friendly, spunky staff working too! We will definitely be back.

D. P Dough is an establishment that is talked very highly about among my wrestling brethren. Whether you’re just looking for a good calzone… or stumbling in for a little sobering up. Nevertheless, the concept of an all calzone stop, I love. Especially if I can make my own calzone! Did I mention, all the clever names they have? Danger-Zone, Oh-Zone, Buffer-Zone…you have me with the clever names! Now on to my order. While I will admit, I am very disappointed to see that Broccoli was not on the list of things to stuff in my calzone… no literally, tears were shed. I had this whole dream calzone in my head that never came to life. Tragic really… but I digress. I ended up ordering, BBQ Sauce, Chicken, Cheddar and Onions. It was great, don’t get me wrong. But I was swindled. For I did not see the(Add additional toppings for only .50 cents!) right beneath the ingredient list. I thought I was only limited to 4… the tragedy continues. So with these two travesties unfolding, it effected my experience. The calzone itself, was delicious! My only problem was that I think it was baked. At too high of a temperature. My filling was not as hot as the outside. And my cheese could’ve been melted more. But delicious nevertheless. With all this transpiring, I have to go back and have a better experience. Because I know what I’m going into now. So with that being said, stay tuned for update number two… where I damn near pass out after the first bite of my dream zone!

People are really nice and appreciate tips. When I was going to RIT I lived off of this place. Buffer zone is amazing and cheese sticks are a must get. Honestly I’ve tried the majority of their menu and I would recommend it all. So good

Excellent calzone, which makes sense because that’s their specialty. The bacon cheese tots aren’t bad. Menu is sports-themed and the staff were friendly. There are tables and chairs but takeout and delivery seem to be the majority of business. If you’re in the area I highly recommend stopping by.

I have been a huge fan of D.P. Dough since my college days, and I couldn’t be happier that one has now opened up in my neck of the woods. This place is the real deal. Some pizza shops offer calzones on their menu, and they’re okay, but D.P. Dough is dedicated to making only calzones. That means their creations go beyond just the toppings you can find on a pizza. They make specialty calzones that are the best calzones you’ll ever have. Every day they have a $ 5 special; a new calzone goes on sale for only $ 5 that day, and sometimes they throw in an extra calzone if local sports teams are having a great season or just won a game. I can’t say enough about this place. You’ll just have to check it out for yourself.

There are restaurants, and then there are restaurants. And this is one of those restaurants. When you’re in the mood for a one of a kind calzone, there is only one place that will pop into your head, and that’s D. P Dough. The best calzone in Upstate, NY. You will NOT be disappointed. You will be blown away with the customer service, quality, and speed of service. This is as good as it gets. When that late night craving hits, and you don’t want a «Plate filled with Garbage» this is the place to go as so much love and passion goes into making each and every calzone. They also serve a variety of other items as well(breadsticks, wings, cookies, and tots) !!! Again, you can’t go wrong when you’re looking for high quality food at an affordable price! See you there, I’m the guy at the corner table stuffing my face with an End Zone Calzone and plate of D.P. Dunkers! #LifeIsGoodWhenYouReAtDPDough
