I like the bread here, baked fresh every day and have been buying it since 2003. The place does get busy, because it is popular & is a local gathering place. Show Up any morning & you’ll find the regulars«old timers» that enjoy a cup of coffee & a sticky bun, a Who’s Who of Healdsburg. Maybe I’ll join this group in a couple of decades. The sticky buns here are the best i’ve had & are highly recommended.

For locals(our maybe a few tourists) who were less concerned with status and bragging rights than good food, this place fit the bill. Their omelets, homemade biscuits, wraps and fresh made chips were excellent. Sad to say, they were bought out by a Windsor restaurant trying to make a mark on the Healdsburg square; the business is CLOSED while being remodeled, probably into what Healdsburg doesn’t need — another overpriced, pretentious, status-driven restaurant.

I came here with a few coworkers to eat lunch. It wasn’t busy and we were seated right away. It had an interesting décor and reminded me of a BBQ place because of the tablecloth was the red and white plaid design. The menu consisted of a side for all of the breakfast items that were served all day and the other side had things like wraps, burgers, salads and soups. One of my coworkers told me she ordered the Tomato Basil Soup with Grilled Cheese($ 9.00 and add country ham for an additional $ 3.00). It definitely would have complemented the rainy weather so I ordered that. A few other items my coworkers ordered were the Thanksgiving Sandwich($ 9.00), the Caesar Salad($ 9.00 and converted into a wrap), and the Center Street Burger($ 10.00). The majority of the table had water for a drink and they were served in plastic beer mug which was interesting. The food came out shortly after at the same time. The Tomato Basil Soup was good and the Grilled Cheese was nothing special to me. I dipped the Grilled Cheese into the Tomato Basil Soup and that made the Grilled Cheese taste better. I tried a homemade chip from my coworker’s Thanksgiving Sandwich and thought it was good. This restaurant was a-ok to me.

This place is «ok» for breakfast, but I will probably not be back. The service was horrible and tbe biscuits and gravy was bland. The Cinnamon Walnut French Toast isn’t even thier own creation… It’s the Cinnimin Walmut Bread From Costeaux French Bakery. I really wanted to like this place.

How this place stays open is beyond me. Front for mafia perhaps. The worst service I’ve ever had. I don’t know why I give it other chances. This is the last time though. I was the only person in the place and was virtually ignored by wait staff. So after about 15 minutes I just bailed. Did they expect me to literally build my own omelette?

As a local I love my little breakfast place. They know our order, are always sweet even when they’re slammed and have creative specials like their daily scrambles and fresh watermelon lemonade. A nice alternative to Hbg tourist formal focus

The food was ok at the most. Didn’t have too much flavor and we felt as if we were being watched while eating. They asked us if we wanted a box when we weren’t anywhere near being done. We weren’t told about the specials like other customers around us. We received better service when we received the check and our plates were being picked up.

I’ve been here a few times and always had a decent experience. My first time was a few years ago when I was craving for ice cream and saw people leaving with ice cream. I walked in not knowing what to expect, but I ordered and love their gelatos — and I do even more now that Powell’s is gone. :( The most recent visit here wasn’t the greatest restaurant experience. The food was good, but the atmosphere was very dull. We didn’t come at a peak hour for restaurants, but I expected there to be more than four people in the entire restaurant. It was very quiet, and awkward at times, but what made it worse was that the staff wasn’t friendly. They hardly said anything to us and trying to get water was a hassle.

Decided to try this spot again because it had been awhile and we were pleasantly surprised! I had one of the best omelets that I’ve had in a long time! It was filled with creamy goat cheese, avocado and chicken apple sausage… delicious! It also came with your choose of toast or coffee cake. I opted for the lemon coffee cake. The coffee cake was great too and not too overly sweet. The rest of the group had delicious breakfasts too. Hubby had a Chorizo Scramble which he loved. Service was efficient and friendly and the ambience was a cute 40’s retro style. It is located on the plaza in Healdsburg.

Food for the most part is ok. Seems it used to be better. Good luck if you get the waiter; seems to have an attitude. Used to be our favorite stop when traveling to ft. Bragg from Bay Area.(At least once a month) Need try somewhere else.

Sometimes Healdsburg can be too fancy — that’s why I love Center St! Great breakfast, amazing service and no high-brow pretension. The Damn Good Egg Sandwich is as true as it’s name — just expect to get a little messy fingers(and love it). A great hearty breakfast before a day of wine tasting or riding down the Russian River.

We ate lunch there on September 11 and it was quite fine. My husband ordered the tuna & roasted tomato melt sandwich($ 11) and he substituted sweet potato fries for regular fries($ 2 extra). I’d *intended* to order the Center Street veggie sandwich because it had goat cheese(my cheese«obsession»), but somehow my eyes wandered to the item above it on the menu(turkey berry sandwich [$ 9.50]) and I mistakenly ordered that. The latter was certainly very tasty and the portion size was very sufficient. My husband also liked his meal. Our server was very pleasant and the other workers also seemed pleasant. The interior is large and has a «diner-type» ambiance. Also, the restroom was clean.

Great burgers and sweet potato fries. Also, omelette and onion rings were excellent. Service was perfect. Our waiter, Vincent, did a great job. We would definitely come back.

It’s what you would think it is. It’s a good little spot with decent food for a decent price. We came here 3 years ago and it was good. Came here again and it was the same. Breakfast burrito was pretty damn good.

Came here for lunch to grab a sandwich to go. Turkey berry sandwich was 9.50 and was generally pretty good. Service didn’t take long at 12:30 on a Tuesday, will come back to try another sandwich later. Staff was friendly and worked quickly. The place is definitely a basic café feel but honestly that’s kind of nice to have in a plaza full of expensive places. Reviews for the sit downs have been poor but for a lunch sandwich I thought it was fine.

Service is a bit spotty. The food is good and it is a great location. Best biscuits! Clean the bathrooms though,…come on people!

We were looking for gelato and this place popped up. I read reviews about people complaining about the décor, but personally, I liked it. They’ve tried to maintain a rustic look which I thought was cool. A man greeted us as we approached the gelatos and my friend and I wanted to try a flavor. The lady who gave us the sample, apparently gave me a bit too much. Let me tell you, these are the tiny spoon samples, we weren’t getting more than just a taste with them. In Spanish, the man scolds the lady telling her she gave us too much. Lucky for me, I don’t look like I understand Spanish, but unlucky for them, I responded to them in Spanish and he just looked embarrassed. Tacky much? I only ordered the gelato and went to pay. I am usually the kind of person that is super friendly and I am always polite. But the guy at the register rubbed me the wrong way when he didn’t even greet me. I said hi, and it took him a bit to even respond. I decided to not say a word throughout the transaction and let him talk to me. Afterall, I’m not the one works there and needs to have good customer service. I quietly paid, signed my receipt, grabbed my items and started to walk away. I’m pretty extroverted, so it was killing me to not say a word. I only said thanks until he sighed and said, ‘thank you’. Ugh, why so rude? I’m not tempted to come back here again. There are plenty of other places I found nearby that seem to be better options.

So we stopped here for lunch. right on the square in Healdsburg. I am very surprised at he poor reviews. Good hearty breakfasts and lunch menus. I had the tuna and avocado sandwich. Very fresh ingredients and not weighted down in mayo. Good service and a nice place to take e family for a reasonably priced meal, thanks Ethan for the fine service. By the way, my wife had the farmers breakfast and the breakfast potatoes were awesome.

The breakfast special, chilaquiles, was a complete bomb, though it came recommended by our waitress. The flat, dry pancakes required both knife and fork to cut(no joke). No one ever returned to refresh our water(which we drank all of), or to ask how our meals were. And we were seated directly AT the waitress/cashier station, so we were constantly in view of our waitress. With two children at the table, waiting over 30 mins for pancakes was unacceptable. THREE measly little canned blueberries donned the«Mickey Mouse» pancakes as the eyes and nose. I wonder if anyone has ever tried reporting them for copyright infringement…(Oh, and never mind that after the pancakes came, we had no syrup. Our waitress disappeared off to Never Land to find some, I guess, because 5 minutes later, I found myself asking another waitress, who also had to disappear to find more syrup… Wow. Almost 7 minutes to get syrup for the pancakes that took over 30 minutes to deliver. The huevos rancheros were *just* edible and the guacamole was oxidizing. The fresh-squeezed orange juice at $ 3.50/glass was delicious. Best thing going for them. It tasted like Odwalla. Prices are typical Healdsburg, I suppose. My huevos cost $ 10. Seems a touch exorbitant for what you’re just not actually getting: fresh, tasty, quality food. Such a cute place. Total shame they can’t step up their service and quality. I am actually amazed they were so busy. Clueless out-of-towners probably keeping them in business.

Edible, but pretty horrible. So sad, b/c this place is so cute inside, from the gingham tablecloth to the funky décor. The toast wasn’t burnt, but it was similar to a beige colored slice of Wonder Bread, toasted to the crunch of a croûton. My huevos locos was so bland, not even Tabasco could save it and the horrid goop of lukewarm cheddar on top was dreadful. Will not be back.
