Got my much anticipated New York black and white cookies from Gimmee Jimmy’s today. What a disappointment. I paid $ 20(shipping included) for 12 cookies scarcely bigger than a silver dollar. Each cookie weighs just under an ounce, so about 11 ounces of cookies for $ 20. Sure, they come in a nice tin and are packaged well, but I would have preferred to receive it in a plain box if they could’ve saved a few bucks to put towards ingredients for a larger cookie. This product is obviously geared towards corporate customers who don’t care how much they spend nor about the value of what their clients receive. I should’ve bought from Amazon. Lesson learned.

We travel miles to get a great bakery item – including Manhattan and Brooklyn. Thought we would try place in Hawthorne. What a big mistake. Went to the Hawthorne location with the intention of getting cookies for a birthday party. Not much of a selection, and was told cookies have a short shelf life. Was told Thursday purchase not be okay on Sunday. Did get brownies, chocolate cookies, and biscotti(already double baked). Tasted the brownies day of purchase – were dry and awful – not the decadent, moist, intense chocolate brownies you want to serve guests. The biscotti were almost flavorless and cut in a haphazard way: some very thick, some extra thin. Not a good presentation, and another item to avoid. The chocolate cookies were good – even on Sunday. What a waste of money. The worst part was the manager – denied my discount, complained, and finally was given a small discount – not the value I was supposed to get. Why offer a deal and not honor it? Will I go back? Never. Much better bakeries out there, without hostile employees.

I haven’t ordered online yet but I always used to go to the shop in Montclair. I LOVE their Red Velvet cake, cupcakes, and great cookies.
