Was the best deli, but I had a very bad experience which stopped me going. Me & hubby had gotten takeout here for years. Always a roast beef Italian combo sandwich, though one time we also got a meatball wedge, which was okay. But the combo was great because they didn’t skimp on the roast beef. It was a very, very meaty sandwich which kept us happily returning for years. Then experienced a problem that was not able to be resolved in a manner that was acceptable to me. I was sick so husband went to get a sandwich for me and bring it home. As I’m eating it it becomes clear that there’s hardly any roast beef when I open the bread. I mean like almost none. So we are paying over $ 8.50 for salami basically? I don’t think so. Heck, there wasn’t even a lot of that! So my husband calls and he gets someone who works there who was aggressive, annoyed and did not want to rectify the problem. He says to come back and he will fix it. So husband drives back and and he hands him a small package and thanks him. He takes it home and when I open it, it was another half a roll with hardly any roast beef on it. I was really angry to be honest. So my husband encourages me to call in the morning and try to talk to somebody else. I do this and speak with a woman. She says that she and her brother own the place. She says I spoke to her brother and that he shouldn’t have treated me this way, and they don’t want to give the impression that they don’t value their customers as they rely on us for business. I was really grateful that she was nothing like her brother and understood how business should be done. I told her that if they wanted to charge more for more meat that would have been acceptable, but she said the amount of meat on the sandwich stayed the same. I told her that I’ve been getting it a long time, and recounted our return visit the day before still with unsatisfying results and she did the right thing and apologized. I told her I wasn’t trying to get a free sandwich, as I can pay for that. I just want to get what I paid for. She said she would take my name and leave it on the board and whenever I come in I can get a free replacement sandwich.. I felt very good about them after that, but didn’t want to chance it so we called again for a sandwich that evening. Again, I got the brother and he said he didn’t know anything about a name on the board or free sandwich and then said he knew who I was and I wasn’t getting another free sandwich. I would have a choice word for that guy but you can’t say that on here, and it isn’t classy. So I’ll just say: «Free sandwich! Free sandwich? I have yet to receive my full sandwich of roast beef.» Anyway, it really soured my feelings for this place and I can’t legitimize that behavior with my patronage. So much for not wanting to lose business. After all, I would think you would make another sandwich even if you had to eat the cost, to retain a long time customer. Besides, like I said in my other reviews, why go out and spend your money at a mom & pop store that gyps you, when you can buy salami, iceberg lettuce, french bread and mix balsamic vinegar and olive oil and put it all together and make something that is almost exactly as satisfying for less money. I hope this review makes the owners think twice about displeasing the residents of a very, very small town they rely on to stay in business. I hope no one else has such a bad experience.

They have pretty good to go food. It adds variety and a good balance to the choices in Hastings.

This is not a real review. My two kids are Amy and Jody and we took a little from each of their names to create AMJOCORP( ). I rate your store name with five stars! Where did the name come from?

I always stop at this place when in the area for work. If you like to eat an early lunch like me, this place will have you in and out quickly. They have a daily hot food bar and have no issue making me my grilled chicken wrap fresh when I order it. Solid deli for a weekday lunch. No real seating so expect to take it to go. The staff is always super nice.
