Finally came here for brunch with my wife on a Sunday. Although the tables were full we were able to get a seat at the bar. The overall atmosphere was very inviting, the layout was nice looking with plenty of space so you don’t feel crowded and the staff was helpful & friendly. They have a pretty decent selection of wines, beers & liquor. I had the Grand Marnier French Toast & my wife had the Steak & Eggs. The food was good, not great but good. However the experience was overall enjoyable. It can get a little pricy especially when ordering multiple mimosas as we did. But we will definitely be returning.

Came here with a friend for brunch, I am all about trying new places and I have only been in Virginia for a week. Stopped in here for brunch and ordered the 3 cheese bacon quesadilla and if was pretty good. I wouldn’t say anything was wrong with this place, but nothing stood out as over the top either. I would go again.

Well this is gonna be a strange one. But I got absolutely hammered between here and Venture and lost my wallet. I am hoping it is here, at this gem of an establishment. Please, please comment back if so. It is a black and white chevron pattern wallet. Literally the same size as credit cards. Thank you either way. Off the subject, obviously a great place to party if you can keep your shit together. Which apparently I can not. Highly recommended this jam. Update!!! Found my wallet. Now I just need to make sure I paid my tab! Please contact me if I did not. I was wasted. Grassy ass.

My husband and I had our wedding at Conch and Bucket. The restaurant and back patio were absolutely perfect. The kitchen staff did an absolutely amazing job on our food and all of the guests kept telling us how good it was. The owner could not have been more accommodating with allowing us to come in early and set up and making sure that we had exactly what we wanted and needed for the party. The bartenders were tons of fun and kept everyone’s glass full all night. Everything was absolutely wonderful from the venue to the staff and the food. I can’t say enough good things about the restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to throw a party or wedding in this area.

Had Brunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. To me, one measure of a kitchen is whether they can serve Salmon properly. I had the bacon wrapped salmon from the brunch menu. It came with a potato pancake fresh veggies, scrambled eggs. The Salmon was prepared perfectly, not dried out or mushy, and the bacon wrapping did not make it greasy, either. Very enjoyable. The Trout spread with Pita bread appetizer was a suggestion from the server, so I tried it, and it was delicious. I liked the patio setting, with a wisteria vine canopy providing shade, yet letting the breeze blow through, it was quite comfortable despite the 90 degree heat. Service was timely without being overbearing or rushed. Check my reviews. You have to either be very good and exceed my expectations, or very bad and tick me off for me to bother writing one. This one definitely earned a return trip from me, and a good review.

Was visiting the area and this place was recommended by a local friend. He must not mind waiting forever to have water refilled, painfully slow service and it taking FOREVER for everything in this restaurant — from ordering, to getting your food to getting the bill and THEN getting your credit card back… Absolutely horrible service. The waitress did eventually apologize for her lack of service, so my assumption is ownership doesn’t invest in labor, because the concept is unique, food was above average and ambiance is inviting. However, my time is valuable and a steak dinner experience should not take two hours from the time you walk in until you get the bill. If you are looking for great service, this is NOT the place to go

Still love this place. Got the Parmesan crusted snapper special($ 18) with crispy potatoes & broccoli last night and it was fantastic and well presented. Wife had the steak special, Charred NY strip with a mustard based sauce, garlic mashers & grilled asparagus $ 20. I do have to say her Medium Rare was more Rare but it was still tasty. Had crème brûlée cheese cake as a shared dessert. Fantastic also. My only slightest of complaints is that restaurant service always seems slightly unresponsive. Bar service is always great & I recommend.

We waited 40 mins to just order and then had to wait another 45 mins for our food. The food is excellent but service and wait is not worth it to me. And let me add it was not that busy. The waitstaff seems very inexperienced.

Our favorite date place on this side of the water! Good food, great wine list, good prices. Plus, Taphouse is right next door with a great rotating draught list!

We arrived with a group of about a dozen people seated at two tables — admittedly a large group. Drink orders were quickly taken but our waitresses then disappeared. When drinks were finally delivered the waitress disappeared again. Note there were only three other tables occupied so hard to believe staff was overwhelmed. When orders were finally taken we had to wait another 45 minutes before food was delivered. Most dishes arrived cold. An order of «shrimp and grits» arrived as two shrimp in congealed melted cheese and no grits. And one of the people at our table did not receive his meal until about 10 minutes after everyone else. Imagine sitting at a table for 45 minutes waiting for food, then 5 out of 6 are served. When we were done with our main courses the waitress brought our checks, didn’t even ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. Maybe the experience would have been better with a smaller group?

Came in on a Wednesday night with a party of 10. There were maybe 5 or 6 other people in the restaurant sitting at tables. Once we had ordered our food, it took over an hour and 15 minutes for our food to get to the table. It was unreal. I felt so bad for the waitress, she was so nice. My shrimp burrito was just ok, kind of dry. Service was awesome, but the waiting and bland food just won’t have be back any time soon. They do fill growlers there for $ 12.50 for most of the beers they offered.

Found this place on Unilocal & after reading the reviews decided to give it a try. I had the $ 20 steak brunch special and two mimosas. The steak was very flavorful & the mimosas«champagney»(lol). Everything was fine until I got a bill totaling $ 37 which didn’t make sense because the mimosas were $ 4 a piece. My waitress said my original total was $ 29 but after tax it was $ 37…& that apparently downtown Hampton taxes 13.5% ?! I see no one has mentioned this in reviews so maybe it’s normal? Anywho, she even brought out the calculator, and even my friend(a business owner) didn’t believe it added up. Never been taxed this much being from Hampton and also eating at their neighbor restaurants Marker 20& Taphouse. In conclusion, if you want a decent BRUNCH for one and for $ 40 go here.

We’ve been trying to get back to Conch & Bucket for a while, but they haven’t made it easy on us. Their hours are different based on which website you’re checking out. For example, today’s hours. According to Unilocal,it’s 4:00−7:00(which are their happy hour hours). According to Google, it’s 4:00 — 10:00. Their facebook page has no hours listed, and they don’t have a website. Honestly, the lack of information they provide is enough to make me not want to eat there. Besides the lack of hours(or inconsistent information about their hours), they also don’t have a menu posted, which is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to restaurants. Anyways. We ended up at Conch & Bucket for dinner. We got a table instantly, but they were out of menus and silverware(seriously?). So, we waited for a while for someone to find us some menus. I wanted a cocktail, but they didn’t have a menu for those at all. Our server told me that the bartender could make anything, but frustrating for me since I’m not a big drinker. I told her I liked pineapple, so she suggested a pineapple upside down cake martini. It was really delicious. It tasted like pineapple upside down cake, but with the slight burn of vodka. Since it wasn’t on a menu, I have no idea what was in it, but it was tasty. For an appetizer, we shared the shrimp and«andouille» flatbread. And I say andouille like that because we found two very small pieces of sausage on the whole thing. And, it didn’t taste like andouille. Honestly it tasted like regular ham. It was good, but it wasn’t what we were expecting. We both ordered from the specials board for our entrees. Graham had the tuna with a blueberry-balsamic gastrique, blistered green beans and a root vegetable hash(which was really just a mix of roasted sweet potatoes & white potatoes), and this dish was very disappointing. The tuna had zero flavor. The sauce was good, but there wasn’t enough of it. He requested more salt from the server, and that helped some, but it was just really disappointing. The potatoes were good, though, and he said the green beans were the best he’d ever had. I had the New York Strip with sherried oyster mushrooms, garlic mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. While G’s dinner was a total disappointment, mine was perfect. The steak was perfectly cooked, the mushrooms were delicious, as were the mashed potatoes. This was a huge plate of food, and I shared a ton of with Graham. I probably ended up giving him about 1⁄3 of my potatoes and steak. So, yeah. Good dinner, but not great. Annoying quirks and really slow service. If you try this place, don’t go if you’ve got someplace you need to be. Go on a night where you’ve got plenty of time.

What a wonderful place for Sunday brunch! This place had all the essentials for a perfect Sunday brunch: *no wait time *excellent service *great food The experience was great all around; from the music in the background, to the décor of the restaurant. I went with two of my friend and we all ordered the French Toast with apples on the side, with eggs, & a meat. It was yummy & I can’t wait to go back to try the shrimp and grits. I definitely recommend this place for brunch!

Rather than fight the traffic, we came over here to Conch & Bucket in what looks like a very old part of Hampton for an excellent meal. With a focus on seafood and a whole lot of wine, Conch & Bucket competes with a few other restaurants in the area. We opted to go without a starter, which might have disappointed our waitress a little. But the mains we chose were great. My mom went with the mixed mushroom and cream pasta(three different kinds of mushrooms!). Nice sized portion and plenty tasty. Good for you veggies out there. I had the catfish with cheese grits and grilled roma tomatoes. Heavenly. I cleaned the bowl completely. Nice and flaky, tender fish with a nice level of spice. The grits were perfectly al dente. Well done, C&B. We’d have never found you without Unilocal

Definitely a hidden gem of Hampton! I’ve been attending Hampton University since 2011 and never have I dined in downtown Hampton. A pleasant surprise to say the lease, I went for an early dinner/happy hour and I was blown away. Homely atmosphere with open space, extravagant wine and beer menu, and the freshly cooked food was great. I ordered the capellini muscles and my friend ordered the crab ravioli both were fantastic in regards to taste and presentation. You have to appreciate freshly cooked food with so many franchises available. Highly recommend to anybody in the Hampton area.
