Surprisingly delicious. Very unassuming restaurant with one guy taking the orders and making the food. But both the green curry and the drunken noodle were awesome!(Although the drunken noodle was made with chicken instead of pork). I will be back!

Good lunch specials. Love the pineapple rice. Drunken noodles are my favorites. Prices are very reasonable

It was not as good as I hoped, unfortunately. The spicy wontons looked just soaked in some brown sauce and was gummy and not too flavorful. I had a shrimp curry in which the shrimp tasted overly cooked and rubbery. It was definitely a lower quality of shrimp that I’ve had at other Thai places. Was a bit disappointed. Ok in a really bad pinch I guess. But other places would be better. Prices are at least less that surrounding areas; but for a reason.

I truly love this place and I am not a fan of Thai food and will only eat it here. There very resonance in prices and if you choose to dine in they serve your food on beautiful dishware and it looks and tastes like something that only the rich people would ever see. You also have not lived until you try their Thai Iced Tea and pinaple fried rice! Deff a great and quick place to get amazing food!

This time I didn’t order anything with liquids just to be safe… I ordered the beef drunken noodles with extra extra extra spice, and it was delicious! And spicy! The spiciest I’ve had to date in Connecticut! The mango sticky rice was also wonderful and included a whole mango. I’m no longer angry about your takeout containers, Thai spice. My car no longer smells like broth and celery.

This is one of my favorite small places to get a bite to eat. The food is decent, you get a good portion, and it’s very reasonably priced. It’s easy to miss when you’re in the plaza because it’s just a tiny hole in wall place right in the corner but after stopping in one afternoon for lunch and getting a pad thai it was love at first bite. It’s just good, simple thai food here.

My comfort food station. Made to order; I always order and then go on to shop at the plaza which is helpful. They were open through most of the hurricanes which is a life saver. Try the new puffs on menu!

It’s a good enough Thai take out that delivers, which there aren’t many of in Hamden. The food isn’t life-changing, it’s just fine. Delivery is prompt and our orders are always correct.

My husband and I were frequent visitors to Thai Spice when we first moved to Hamden(for years ago). We were there weekly! Babies have slowed our going out rituals but Thai Spice is still one of our«go to take-out places.» The family that owns that place is very friendly. So much so, that when we noticed a year ago that the new chicken they were using was chewy, they fixed it! Since then, we have had no issues with anything we have ordered and guests request Thai Spice when they steer in town. It isn’t exactly West Coast Thai, but it is as close to it here on the East side.

I’ve never ate at the actual restaurant. But the food cart they have in new haven is amazing! I don’t even know what the name of the stuff I get is. But it’s the best thing I’ve ever ate! The chicken has so much flavor and the yellow rice is delicious! *droooooooools*

Ok delivery Thai food. Thai Awesome is a MUCH better option if you are willing to pick it up yourself. Doesn’t even compare.

Did not even compare to all the other Thai restaurants I have had. The food lacked spices or something that would have made it taste like authentic Thai. The set up inside and the food made this comparable to «fast food Thai»

The food was good. BUT my Vegetarian drunken noodle came with Chicken in it and I was too hungry to send it back.

This is my favorite take-out Thai restaurant in the Hamden area. Food is great, owners are friendly and they deliver in the area. Try the Ku-Gai, it’s amazing!

Used to love this place but lately the food and the service has been subpar. We ordered food for takeout. Half an hour later we arrived(when they told us to come pick up) but the food had yet to be cooked. 20mins later we took home our food only to find dirty, unshelled shrimp and unseasoned soup. I probably won’t be going back.

Excellent Thai takeout. Great curries; love the basil beef. Quick service, friendly staff and reasonable, too.

My only complaint is that I didn’t realize this was here before now. After debating on what to get for takeaway tonight, I made the executive decision(based on online reviews) to give Thai Spice a shot. Definitely paid off in spades. We ordered several things, hoping that if one sucked we’d have others to eat. Crispy spring rolls are the yoozh, which is what I expected, so yay. Shumai was surprisingly better than I expected. Texture was good and I didn’t get any unnerving chewy chunks, which I’ve experienced before. Basically, if you have the option to eat Thai Spice’s shumai or the shumai in the British Airways Lounge at the Hong Kong airport, Thai Spice is the way to go. I picked my Thai standard, hot basil chicken. Husband got chicken with green curry and tom kah gai soup(the coconut one). Everything was spicy to the point of upper lip sweating, which is completely FTW. Nothing was greasy, the chicken was absolutely chicken, and everything was freshly prepared. Plus it was ready when they said it would be. And when I parked to pick it up, I finally found the fabled duckpin bowling lanes of Hamden. All in all, deffo a win and this is going directly into our heavy rotation.

I love Thai Spice, food is always quick the owner is ridiculously friendly and I’ve never had a bad experience. I go here quite frequently and in spurts I notice. I compare all other Thai food to here and I LOVE it. It’s more of a take out place but don’t be afraid to sit down and eat. If it’s slow the owner loves to chat. Again, there is nothing here that I’ve tried and haven’t liked. Scratch that, there is a weird soup I wasn’t a fan of but it was just too weird for me personally. I will be going here for a long time and have recommended it to many people. All my friends who have tried the food have liked it. Couple hints, 1) you can get lunch portions at almost any time, I think I’ve asked for lunch sizes as late as 4−5pm. 2) They will accommodate to whatever you like in your meal you can take out some vegetables and substitute others.

For the price, this place has the best Pad Thai around. Get hot sauce(the pasty thick kind) on the side and mix it in for a great dish. Quick service and very consistent.
