This review is mainly for our amazing and attentive server, Frankie. The restaurant was pretty busy and we were just there for drinks and appetizers but he still made us feel like a priority. He was very helpful and his appetizer recommendations did not disappoint! The drinks were delicious as well. Will definitely be coming back, hoping to get Frankie as a server!

Pretty typical golf club lunch spot. Except it has a great view of the Pacific Ocean… I had the halibut vegetable sandwich(halibut was bland) and my husband had the salmon sandwich(amazing!!) we started off with the tuna tartare(absolutely recommend!!) service was good and the place was very clean. A lot of golfers of course but got a seat right away. There aren’t many good options in Half Moon Bay for lunch so overall pleased with our choice! Oh, and try the Bloody Mary!

Very disappointing experience from beginning to end. Epic fail. They were playing 70’s elevator music. Website said they opened at 6:30am for breakfast. We walked in at 6:55am, and the server said the kitchen does not open until 7am. My daughter ordered the bagel with cream cheese & lox, but they were out of lox. My husband ordered the Southwestern Eggs Benedict, but they were out of chorizo. I ordered a latte, but the machine was not working. We waited more than a half an hour for our food that still had not arrived, so we left. Did I mention they opened the front door to do routine maintenance when it was about 50’F outside, and we were sitting right next to the door?

Got there just before 7 am and the website said open at 630 am. Kitchen did not open until 7 according to the server. We waited, ordered and then we’re told they did not have any ingredients they needed. Surreal. We waited for 30 minutes, and still no food. We left.

Stunning views of the golf course perched on the cliffs to the Pacific Ocean. Excellent spot to catch a cold one and a bite after you’ve played a round or two.

Samantha — Who I believe is one of the managers is a class act. Any time there is an issue or we needed something her & her staff are on it and accommodating. It’s world class customer service. We have been here several times & the food is always a great value & well prepared. Nothing in life is perfect, but this place is close. One of the better places on the west coast to relax, given the view & the live music! Don’t think twice, just valet & go in.

Fortunately for me I get to play music there with Evan Thomas Blues Duo every other month and the food and drinks are excellent, the staff is great and the view is breathtaking. Golf and easy access to the beach. You have to check it out

Great service. This place is in the middle of nowhere stopped by while traveling. Drinks are weak but the Ahi and sweet potato fries were awesome. Gorgeous view but not a large menu selection. Very upper class feel to it. But not a place that leaves a memory but was convenient at the time. Our server was kind and helpful. Large alcohol selections, a true golfers paradise

Oops. More than I little fall off as the staff has changed and the wine list has been replaced with weak cocktails.

Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning and everything was delicious, service was great and the young lady who served us was very attentive. It’s mostly standard fare but as I was off golfing I went for the breakfast sandwich — light but filling. They also do a pretty good lunch here for that post round fill up

They don’t answer their phone. How do you run a restaurant without a phone?

We had breakfast last week with a party of 8, and the food was excellent. I had the Southwestern Eggs Benedict which was the best benedict I ever had. However, we waited 15 minutes to get a server with menus. Then we waited another 15 minutes for the coffee to be served. We then waited 30 minutes for our breakfast. Totally unacceptable. We returned today with a party of 8, and it couldn’t have been worse. We were served coffee right away but it took 20 minutes for the food to be served after our order. My benedict eggs were cooked hard and so was another’s eggs which should have been poached. Then they served me two poached eggs in a cup 10 minutes later after I finished most of my breakfast. My wife ordered blue berry pancakes and they forgot the blue berries. When my wife informed our waitress, she insisted that the blue berries were in the pancakes which they clearly were not. Then they tried to serve her fresh blue berries on the side. My wife refused that and they made new pancakes. The pancakes were obviously cooked in the oil of fried onions because they had a strong onion flavor. The manager came to our table and apologized and compted our meal, but our 3 of breakfasts were just the worst. After we left there are signs on the grounds that say«best breakfast at Mullins and get a free Mimosa on Sundays from 7 am to 1 pm. We were never offered or given mimosas. A total screw up. We’ll give them another chance, and hopefully both the food and service will both be good.

Have not dined in the restaurant, but have done takeout. The breakfast burritos are to die for. The rings are amazing along with the quesadillas! I’d stay away from the dry hamburger sliders though,

Mullin’s hosts a lovely Easter Brunch Buffet, which includes an Easter egg hunt for the little ones. The Easter bunny dropped a lot of eggs on the first hole of the Old Course. The kids had plenty of eggs to find and plenty of space to run. Everyone had plenty of eggs at the end. The brunch buffet was excellent, everything you would expect and want : — carving station with prime rib and ham — omelette station — seafood with chilled shrimp, mini-bagels and lox, oysters on the half shell — salads Perfect for the kids were: — made to order pasta station — Mac and cheese at the hot foods area — crepes which may be topped with a variety fruits, chocolate, and whipped cream — dessert table The setting was very beautiful and elegant. We hope to return and make this a family tradition.

Apparently… This is the only Ritz in the nation where you can sit an entire 2 hours… and not get a refill. Or silverware. I ate my chilli«Survivor«style baby. Tilt the cup back and let it flow. Oh to be rich!!!

The Ritz Bar and Restaurant managers should frequent this golfcourse restaurant for a little schooling.(We ate at the Ritz 1 time and at Mullins 4 times during our weekend stay at the Ritz!) Fantastic service, food and drinks! Staying at the Ritz this week-end and disappointed with their run of the mill food and mixed drinks, we ventured to Mullins. Beyond the typical golf course restaurant décor, the food was pretty great(much better than the Ritz across the board) and so fresh. Beef sliders appetizer(you get 4) was a meal in itself and were so tasty. Comes with butter lettuce. The crab cake salad was delicious with a huge bed of spinach and cherry toms. The AHi Tuna Tartare was ok, have had better — but I’d pass on this alone for the fact that they did not know if this was sustainable Tuna. You can’t just say Local… Restaurants have to know where their fish is from and notate on the menu if it is sustainable. Fish and chips were amazing… Fish so light and fluffy — but again didn’t know if it was sustainable. Great breakfast sandwiches as well. Drinks… Racer 5IPA… My husband was very happy. Me, a nice crisp Napa Duckhorn Sauvignon Blanc by the glass vs. a crappy New Zealand offering they have at the Ritz. Service was personable, warm and attentive. If we come back to the Ritz… We won’t be eating or drinking at the hotel — you will find us at Mullins.

This restaurant is all around great. The location(fabulous!), the food(amazing!), and the atmosphere(great!) all come together for a great little dinner. We couldn’t have been in a better mood after my husband and our friend got done golfing one of the two courses, with the amazing views and great weather. But the food topped off the whole day. One thing I noticed a lot of people reviewing incorrectly, is that this restaurant is a Ritz Carlton. It is NOT. It is the Half Moon Bay golf course restaurant, that happens to be next to the Ritz Carlton. Great location if you ask me, and in my opinion, less expensive than the Ritz, although it is a *tad* pricey. We came in from having a drink on the 18th hole(at the actual Ritz), watching the sun set and enjoying the weather. We ordered another round of beers and that was our only disappointment of the experience. Our Coronas were served in glasses, not bottles, without asking. Anyone who drinks Corona, knows its not a beer to be served in a glass. But it wasn’t a huge deal, and if we had asked, I’m sure they would have replaced it. Food. Excellent. We ordered the Ahi Tuna appetizer that was great! Really, so flavorful and tasty, and a good portion. Definitely would order that every time we dine here. Because we happened to be dining on a Wednesday, they had their Wednesday night special Pasta Bar, and two of us ordered that. It comes with a salad as well, made to order, and it was $ 17.99. Our server encouraged us to go check it out before we decided, and once we did, we were sold. It looked amazing. The chef’s made your salad to order there as well, and the choices for pasta were unlimited. Many different toppings, meats, sauces, and pastas. I ordered a white sauce with shrimp, chicken, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and onions. It was delicious. Really. My mouth is watering just thinking of it. That and the Reuben sandwich($ 15) that our friend ordered. It was definitely the best Reuben I have ever tried. He ordered it with onion rings that were unbelievable. I would say what set this Reuben apart from the many others I have tried would be the nice crispy bread(Reuben’s tend to have soggy bread because of the toppings) and the, what tasted like, caramelized onions. I want one right now. Overall this place was delicious, and if you’re in the area, I would definitely try it. Be prepared to spend approximately $ 20 a person and you should be fine. Also make sure to spend a little time walking around the Ritz and checking out the views, it makes for a great trip and turns lunch or dinner into more of an excitement. Quick Note: Parking. It has NEVER been an issue for and we have been several times. You do NOT need to valet, you can simply park the car in the lot to the right of the restaurant(not far at all!).

Google maps is straight up wrong about how to get to MB&G. We must have turned around 4 or 5 times trying to find this spot. I was becoming carsick from driving round and round and round Half Moon Bay. It’s actually right next to the Ritz-Carlton of Half Moon Bay. It must be designed to cater strictly to hotel guests or patrons of the insanely expensive golf course next door, because it is also incredibly difficult to park at this spot. You’ll be asking yourself, «Which valet do I use?» If ever in my life I have to ask this question again, I will turn around and leave. After a 45 minute drive, we finally arrived. Obviously that kind of drive engenders the need for a drink(and fast). I ordered a beer and my sis ordered a glass of sparkling wine. I tried to order a Mojito, but they didn’t have mint(?) I ordered a cup of clam chowder and an appetizer chicken quesadilla with ancho chili. My sister ordered a chicken entrée. My little niece insisted on ordering the Kids’ Salmon, although I was certain she was going to hate it. The clam chowder was the belle of the ball at our table. My sister loved it, my little niece loved it, and I also thought it was swell. It’s a New England Clam Chowder with a kick of Manhattan. I thought it had too many potatoes in it(filler), but I must admit it was pretty flavorful. My quesadilla was disappointing. There was so much of the ancho chili, it completely overpowered all of the other flavors. My niece didn’t seem very into her salmon(surprise!). It’s kind of nice that the Kids’ Menu had that option – usually Kids’ Menus are pretty awful, nutritionally speaking. Significantly, the bathrooms were pretty nice. Anyway, if you’re staying at the Ritz or you’re doing some bourgeois golfing, it’s not a bad option.

After being rejected by the Ritz Carlton Pro Shop directly connected to Mullin’s Bar & Grill, I decided to eat at Mullin’s for lunch. I actually wanted to rent a golf cart not to play golf but to ride around the 36 holes of the golf course and look at the beautiful scenery of Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay. But I was quickly rejected, I think they thought I was going to pull a Thelma & Louise and fly off one of the sides of the cliffs and end up in the Pacific Ocean. Ok ok, it crossed my mind but everybody knows that I couldn’t possibly get to a speed necessary to be worthy of getting any type air or hang time in a golf cart like the Ford Thunderbird in the movie. But on to my enjoyable lunch on Memorial Day. Mullin’s is really a perfect Bar & Grill for a golfer after a round of golf or a guy like myself who just wants really good bar food and drinks. HDTV’s in every room, nice bar area, outside dining area, and a cozy fire place with a couch. We went with the fire place in the middle of Mullin’s. A simple menu of a couple different soups and salads. Quite a few appetizers to choose from. Sandwiches, angus burgers, skirt steak, and chicken entrees are availiable. All for a reasonable price. But what does a manly man like myself eat at a bar & grill? Finger food of course. I don’t want to use no stinkin fork! So I ordered the Party Platter which is a combination of cheese quesadillas, angus sliders, and spicy buffalo wings. Along with a Blue Moon and Diet Coke. Usually when ordering a party platter, one of the items will fall flat and I’ll usually make a mental note not to order the party platter next time cause of that one item but not at Mullin’s. All three items were great especially the sliders that were cooked a perfect medium rare with cheddar cheese melted and put on soft toasted bread. My server Juan was friendly, attentive and helpful. His service sets Mullin’s apart from a lot of bar & grills where service is poor or nonexistent. If you’re in the mood for million dollar scenery, manly man food, and good service Mullin’s is the spot. But don’t expect to get a golf cart without playing golf. Like Donnie Brasco says«Fugget-about-it.». Here’s a clip:
