Food is good for the price, but the service is not the best. Don’t go and 5:00, that is shift change. The bartenders are in a hurry to leave and will make it known that they are leaving so that you can tip them out.

Food was decent and the prices were reasonable. Service was pretty good for the most part. A good place to lounge about and the staff was friendly.

Thursday nights are ladies night & the appetizers are half off for ladies! Very yummy wings & I love the deep-fried cheesecake squares w/a scoop of IceCream. Very satisfying meals each time I’ve dined in.

This is the first time I have been to The Spot and I was not disappointed. The table got the Texas cheese fries and were they amazing. Our waitress was extremely nice and checked on us regularly even though she was only one of two waitress working the lunch shift, a friend and I both ordered the steak bomb, which is an open faced sandwich and it was to die for, I will most definitely be going back again soon.

The food and the service were both good. We sat outside, the weather was great. We had the clam fritters and nachos for appetizers they were good. I had the shrimp and scallop alfredo for dinner. I don’t think it said on the menu that the scallops were bay scallops, but it was good.

My husband and I were trying to find a decent place to grab some light grub with drinks. We had been browsing the area and saw«The Spot.» When we walked in we felt uneasy, and a sense that we just didn’t belong. Tip: if you want customers to become regulars, perhaps being friendly would work wonders instead of having half cocked trivia nights. As for the food– my husband’s steak was inedible. By inedible I mean I took a bite and immediately spit the portion into a napkin. I like to give small local places like this more than one chance, so we will attempt going on another night in hopes that the customer service and food will improve.

This is the best bar scene in Groton with decent food. The Spot offers good specials during the week like 2 for 1 burgers on Tuesday and half price appetizers on Thursdays. During the summer there is also an outside area where you can eat and get drinks.

Horrible service. Sat for 15 minutes without even a hi from wait staff. Looked at hostess to let hwr know we havent been served. She then decided it was a good time to take a break. Had to leave before we got to hot about it. Manager offered to get is a waitress. Thanks, but not enough to keep us there. Holy crap what horrible service.

Great price for cafeteria type food. I had Shepard pie and NE clam chowder for less than $ 10. Staff was friendly and the restaurant specializes in cakes and pies. I highly recommend this place. It just became my local favorite.

I have lived near this place for 20 years and it used to be very good. The food the past couple years has been awful. I went there tonight with a friend and was again very disappointed. I ordered a Ruben and it was the fattiest Ruben I have ever personally seen. The meat was so fatty I pulled a piece of that literally had no meat on it, it was strictly fat. I complained and got no satisfaction. Beware. This place has gone downhill and the food is terrible. To review a visit for breakfast with my son 3 months ago it was pretty much the same thing. The eggs were all over cooked, the sausage and bacon were both deep fried I think and for way too long. if not they had been made long in advance and had dried to a leathery consistency. My son who is 22yo, 6’8″ and will eat anything, even he was grossed out by what they served.

Meh. It’s decent. Went there a little late in the evening for dinner and it was just ok. Nothing special.

The food is good. It is worth the price. But only when the service is good, if you go on a Monday or Sunday sit at the bar. The bartender, Amber, is fantastic. But any other night it is just ok. I was just there and I waited 23 minutes at the bar to order food. I did have a drink, but the bartenders did not check in on my until about 5 minutes after my drink was empty. Although they were pleasant, their service was not worth it. Again, go on a Monday or Sunday. Both bartenders those nights are fantastic. Other than that, I would say only go if it’s convenient.

Great value! 28 Beers on Tap! Wife had 18oz prime rib @ $ 11.99. I had the Sirloin tips… win win! After driving past The Spot over the last 5 years of visiting Groton we finally stopped in to eat. Best meal and value we have had in Groton… well heck in a very long time. When in Groton AVOID the national chains, stop into The Spot!

If you want to be around men in lumberjacks having lunch and drinking before noon, waitresses that have expressionless faces and NEVER smile, and average food. This is The Spot! A smile would have gone a long way. The popcorn machine seems to be a favorite of the regulars. I heard Governor Christie of New Jersey frequented this place during our recent governor elections… Doesn’t surprise me one bit looking around here.

I think we came here on a Saturday night if I am not mistaken. We got in a little early around 6:30pm. Got a high top table. We ordered food and about 2 rounds of drinks. Talking and enjoying the conversations with another couple we came with. Our waitress was really sweet and shy I think because she spoke very soft in such a loud environment. But she was attentive. The food was alright, not amazing, but good for pub/bar food. I had their prime rib special of the day. and it was nice. Very tough but still good. Filling to say the least. The only thing that irritates me more than anything else is when the waiters make us feel like we have to leave. My husband and my friend’s husband had finished eating but was still working on their 2nd beer and enjoying their time off to talk and relax. I and my girlfriend was still working on our food and beers. They came over and asked us if we wanted a to-go box about 4 times. I get that your pub is starting to pick up and you’re trying to seat a table of about 10 guys and their family… however we’re paying customers as well. We tip as well. I’m pretty sure that once you take my money and serve me, I have the right to sit there and enjoy my meal and drinks… right? We would’ve ordered a couple of more drinks but they kept looking at our table… and asking us if we wanted boxes or if we were done. Then they even pointed to our table and told the other guests that once we left they’d have all those tables… so that encouraged the group of men to stand right next to our table… If you were going to come with you wives and children to a pub with your buddies, you should’ve came earlier than 7:30pm. I hope my next experience will be better because I really liked the environment there.

Had a craving for a burger and looked around and found the spot. Had football on the televisions and great beer. Bacon cheddar burger was so delicious, I had the horseradish mayo on the side to add to my burger. It was the cherry on top. Had a couple yuenling beers with my food. Thank you to the spot. Food was«SPOT» on.

The brightest on the scorching Groton nightlife scene? It can’t be any place other than The Spot! If you want to get in the door at this«see and be seen» nightspot, you’ll have to open it yourself because there isn’t a bouncer! When you’re deciding where to party til dawn, this place will definitely hit the spot! Seriously, they have a decent beer selection with surprisingly good options from regional breweries. There are plenty of booths, tables and a nice patio area. I just had beer so can’t comment on food. Service was… leisurely but I thought the lady bartenders were nice.
