Great place for the family. Food was great. German chocolate cake was excellent. Service could have been a little faster.

The place was excellent service, and food. It’s a big restaurant with lots of room for everyone, with a small bar also, gift shop too. I had the Swiss Stuff Cabbage Rolls with a salad and mashed potatoes. The prices are fair for the what you get. I loved the menu, some of the desserts sounded good. But didn’t have room for it. Will be going back there again for sure.

To much fat on the pork roast chicken is really bad and bland some of the waiters are rude if the meal isn’t worth eating you shouldn’t get charged

Service and food is always great, once in awhile you’ll come across a bad waitress. But the food is awesome and definitely worth trying if you haven’t! Ask for Cindy if you can!

I had driven past this place many times on my way to Mt. Hood and I was intrigued. The parking lot is always full, it is a huge building with a unique looking exterior. If it is that busy it must be great, right? Well, I would say it is not great. It is not utterly terrible though. It is like stepping back in time when you go in to this place. The reason it is so packed is because they offer a senior menu. And the seniors pack this place. The people watching here is incredible. Imagine listening to two WWII era ladies talk for an hour about their day. It is just a place from a different era. We ordered the combo — appetizer, meal and dessert for $ 12.50. We got the boneless hot wings and they came out like little lonely dry turds on a plate with a cup of hot sauce on the side — no celery? No blue cheese? Then the main meal. I got the salmon with loaded mashed potatoes — it was decent. My friend go the teryaki chicken and it was disgusting. I think you could have gotten a better meal from a frozen dinner. Dessert was a slice of «sugar» pie and ice cream. Meh. But my friend said to give them a star for serving ice cold beer.

I no longer live in Oregon, I get to visit every couple of years. This is one of my have to have places to eat. Especially when I have a sweet tooth and need a sit down restaurant. Today I got a banana split and yes as simple as they seem, they are so yummy here. They used all three different flavors of ice cream, had full strawberries and loaded with whipped cream. For 5.50 it was huge. Definitely shared mine. Our service is always excellent. Always very satisfied

My husband’s grandmother used to take us here nearly 15 years ago on a regular basis, I didn’t mind coming, but we never just went on our own. Sometimes I would bring my dad when he came out for a visit because he loves this type of diner type of food. The last time I realized I had taken him was in 2005, so suddenly they were back on the radar just to mix things up. Even though it had been almost ten years(trust me they flew by and I want those ten years back!) it was like we had just eaten there last week. Nothing had changed, NOTHING. the little gift shop still had the same stuff, same everything. Something was nice about that for some reason. The menu was pretty much the same. We weren’t eating hot wings ten years ago, so that shows we have evolved. Now they were on the menu and we started with those. They are pretty good, but you get 7 in an order for around $ 10 and that is kind of steep. Since July 2015 we have been in a handful of times with various members of the family, and the service is always good, but the food can be a little hit and miss. They have great specials if you can get in there Monday-Thursday after 4 pm, most run around $ 12 – 13 and include appetizer, entrée and dessert. My husband did the salmon the other night and it came with loaded mashed potatoes. He didn’t believe me when I told him it would be cheese, onion and bacon, but it was. The salmon was a decent portion size and the potatoes looked like half the plate. They don’t give you a veggie side here, which I kinda don’t like that about them. We got KPTV’s deal of the day so it was $ 15 for $ 30 and that makes it more reasonable. Otherwise there were times just the two of us left with a $ 50 tab and that wasn’t dessert, just wing starters. The turkey is roasted in house and the first time I had it, I swear the dressing was stove top dressing. It wasn’t bad, but I haven’t ordered it again. I do like the Boca burgers and the fried chicken is something I try to avoid but there are those times I feel I really need to eat it. They pressure cook theirs and my first order a few months back had zero seasoning. ZERO, But as a note, Sayler’s steakhouse did the same thing a couple years ago, so it happens everywhere. This time I felt brave and ordered it again with a bakes potato. The chicken was really good, and I was thinking I need to make sure it didn’t become a habit now that I know it could be this good. Not too bad for a change. I do like them better than Elmer’s up the street, but I think my husband might like Elmer’s better, so give them a shot if you are looking for a different place in Gresham to eat.

What a great place. We stopped for breakfast on a whim. From the minute we walked into the door we were greeted with kindness. The staff is incredibly friendly. I had a great breakfast. The blitzes were really good. Not only do they have a German theme, the food is like going back home. The wait staff never let the water get low or the coffee get cold. Always with a smile and sometime with a kind word in passing. So not only do I recommend the food, I praise the staff for the old school care and kindness that you just don’t find anymore.

This is an unexpected delightful find. Staying at a nearby hotel we saw this place and wanted to try it. The staff is always smiling happy and friendly, made us feel so welcome. Thereafter aunt spotless. I am on a diet and they have been willing to do anything to make my dining experience good. All the food is good, and so wonderfully fresh. we have since finding this place eaten here every day of our vacation. This is a gem! Carmelita is the Best, fast, sweet, and got my difficult order correct.

Well, considering he was only given one pancake to replace the two that came with his order, I was not satisfied. I also had to argue with the manager in order to get a refund for just his portion of the meal. Are you kidding me? I worked in food service. When a customer has a complaint you replace the meal in its entirety and then give them something for the trouble… like a discount for example. It was honestly the worst customer service experience I have ever had. My friends and family will never be back to this establishment.

Boyfriend and I live down the road and have been here twice now– lunch the first time and breakfast/brunch the second. Lunch I remember being expensive for what was ordered. I had spaghetti with meat sauce which would be a $ 3 meal at home. It was like 10 or 11 dollars. Good, but not great for the price. I must have been craving it that day. However breakfast was great! We ordered waaay too much food. We both got eggs Benedict, and peach crepes to split. I didn’t realize the crepes were so huge. Everything was delicious and we took most of the crepes home to snack on later. Not too sweet, they were perfect. Also the servers are always extremely nice and accommodating. They have to wear those German outfits and seem to be good sports about it. Cute little place, I’m sure we’ll be back for breakfast again!

Don’t go there. French onion soup too many sweet onions ruined the taste. My chicken salad had olives in it and they put mayonnaise on my Croissant. Not a fan of it but can tolerate in a salad. Melanie’s cabbage roll was soso. She said sauce just tastes like tomatoes. I tried it and I too thought it needed seasoning. Was hoping dessert would save the day… not! Ordered chocolate éclair and it tasted old and stale even though they told me it was made today. Best part about dinner was leaving! If I could give it zero stars I would

I have been to Heidi’s many times, The restaurant is a family oriented environment with great specials. My self I’m a breakfast guy, and would not pass the opportunity to eat in this restaurant or even in the lounge. Oh the lounge, the lounge has a special that they run everyday that is the bomb. «The Sportsman» A large cheese burger with all the fix-ens on a hoagie bun with fries, soup and a Beer for around $ 11. My buddies and I have spent many a days after golf eating that special.

Service was good and they all greeted us promptly and were very friendly. The wait staff all wore costumes and the décor was unique. The food on the other hand was pretty bland. My boyfriend and I ordered the fondue for an appetizer. They did give a healthy amount of bread and cheese but the fondue was pretty basic. I like fondue with more flavor. If you’re someone who likes to get fondue, i recommend going to places like urban fondue or Gustavs because they do fondue right. For our entrées we ordered thier lunch special which was an open face pot roast sandwich with mashed potatoes and an order of their cabbage rolls. The plate arriving looked good but once we dug in to the pot roast we were disappointed by how dry the meat was, even though it was smothered in gravy. Then to the mashed potatoes… sorry im not a fan of flakes mashed potatoes from a box and that is exactly what they tasted like. Finally the cabbage rolls… finally something right. I did sprinkle a little salt on them, but these rolls filled with beef and rice toppes with tomatoes were actually quite good. I haven’t been here since i was a kid and apparently i wasent missing out on anything. With all the great food in portland, restuants really need to step up their game with the quality they put out.

The exterior is fun with the water wheel and all, there is a neat little gift shop where you can buy trinkets and coo coo clocks. Wife and I ordered sausage dinner and chicken fried steak. Chicken was average, nothing notable. The brats looked fantastic looking but had little flavor, warm potato salad was good. Service was good and people were very friendly. Price was a little steep for quality of food. 45 bucks for two meal and a bread appetizer.

If you’re seeking a German experience then keep driving. The menu resembles Elmers, iHop, and the like. Crowd is seniors, ambiance is ‘70s/‘80s. That said, their version of traditional Eggs Benedict was very good and the portion was ample. No high-end ingredients, but it works. The Beef Barley soup(you know, like Campbell’s) was also above average. Homey feel and good service lend to a packed parking lot.

I came here for a Christmas party and it was awesome! Granted i didn’t have to pay for anything so that may have contributed to my satisfying experience. :-) I ordered the salmon and it was a HUGE portion. It had a unique sauce on top which i didn’t care for too much but the salmon itself was flaky and delicious. It also came with a large baked potato. For dessert i got one of their many selection of pies. I think it was the German chocolate. I didn’t eat too much of it since i was stuffed but what i did have of it i loved. Overall i had a great first time experience. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a good meal.
