Always love staying here when I come to town! Clean rooms, great kitchen in the room! And they have tons of stuff you can borrow

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Candlewood Suites. For it to be in the«budget» category, it was very clean and had all the essentials. The business center had enough for me to print some work I had to do, and the staff was very friendly when I arrived a few hours early. You don’t miss having free breakfast because with the money saved you can go up an exit to a ton of restaurants. Overall the room was clean, quiet and a good few nights stay. I highly recommend if you’re needing a hotel but do not want to be in the middle of all the action of downtown.

I have stayed in many hotels all over the world this extended stay hotel was great for the price. The large bed was very comfy with lots of pillows and being it was in its own private bedroom, I was able to block out any noise and sunlight, and get a great nights sleep. The living room area was large with a nice TV, rocker/recliner, and a sleeper sofa. The large office desk area was great. The computer chair was very nice for long times spent on the laptop. The kitchen with full sized fridge, granite counter tops, microwave, dual range burners, and large sink was excellent. Free gym, free laundry, and an honor system in place if you wanted any candy bars, popcorn, canned foods, snacks or drinks from the small convenience area, just write down what you took, the cost, and your name and room number, wow! That goes to show you, no dishonest thugs stay here, lol. Most of the residents seemed to be long term, clean cut, well dressed 50 – 60 yr old engineer types that were in town working on building new hospitals or other large complexes. The AC and heat both worked great, all the clean towels I wanted, neat clean, safe parking areas, friendly and helpful staff, overall great room for the price. I highly recommend.

Nice place with LOTS of amenities. Had some trouble with the key cards but the guy at front desk was quick and helpful. The heating in the room was great. Very warm for a December but the drafts were TERRIBLE in the living room area. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but it did it’s job. Great water pressure and hot water in bathroom! I’d go back again.

Mr Brutally Honest and I were in Indiana for The Boy’s graduation, plus a little relaxation time and time to spend with The Boy. I looked around online for hotels(I’ve been using lately, which I highly recommend doing), and I found this place for a mere $ 90 more than I would have paid for a Super-8, which was further away and didn’t offer even half the amenities Candlewood offers! The first thing you notice when you enter is the fact that the place SMELLS new. I mean, seriously new; no smell of Lysol or stains on the carpet or any of that. It’s really very nice inside. The staff is at the desk from 7am-11pm(and there is also a night clerk on-call after hours) and they’re incredibly helpful, friendly and amazingly accommodating. Once we checked in, we went up to the room and found it to be very spacious indeed, and wonderfully appointed. A full-sized refrigerator, 2-burner electric stove, dish washer and complete line of dishes & cookware(including kitchen linens, soap and scrubber), and microwave in the kitchen area. The bathroom had a roomy tub, plenty of cabinet/counter space and lots of linens. The bed was amazingly comfortable, with nice fresh linens and lots of pillows. The air conditioner was very efficient(which was very much appreciated in the heat & humidity we encountered during our visit!) and plenty of lighting; there was a flat-screen TV, satellite connection with HBO, free Wi-Fi, a DVR, and a leather recliner; nice flooring in the kitchen, tiling in the bathroom, and decent carpeting in the rest of the unit; the black-out curtains took a little looking for — they were tucked well behind the shades and faux draperies, but man-oh-man were they ever effective! Pitch-black in there with those things closed! OH! And there was coffee, tea, and a bag of microwave popcorn waiting for us, too! You don’t get bugged by housekeeping daily(we were there for 6 days); housekeeping cleans your room top-to-bottom before your arrival and then weekly thereafter. If you need more supplies(coffee, linens, trash bags, paper products) you need only ask at the front desk. Large trash receptacles at either end of every hall provide a convenient place to empty your trash, and are emptied twice daily to avoid stink. To add to their already stellar service, Candlewood also offered a «pantry» with foods, beverages and laundry supplies; it worked on an «honor system»(fill out a form listing what you’ve taken and they charge it to your room), as well as a fitness center with modern equipment(but NO pool at this location), and FREELAUNDRY! Yes, you read right: FREE laundry. 4 each of front-loading washers and dryers, that wash and dry quite efficiently… HUGE bonus points there. There is also a modest movie lending-library at the front desk if you’re so inclined. They also have the basic office services: package receipt(which we did have to use), a computer with unrestricted internet access, a printer and some basic office supplies, all tucked neatly away in a separate room that is room-key-accessed. Candlewood is conveniently located near a main road, with a Super Wal*Mart and a Kroger groceries only a couple miles away. And because of the huge fridge, we were able to buy plenty of food to prepare on our own and saved a bunch of money on meals we would have otherwise had to buy in restaurants. I was even able to make dinner one night when The Boy joined us for a meal. My SINGULAR gripe is the fact that smoking is allowed in the hotel. Candlewood did designate the top floor as «the smoking floor»(something failed to realize and/or mention, although to my credit I DID specify non-smoking at the time I booked) — and I was unaware of this until I mentioned it at check-out — so we had a room that smelled of stale smoke upon our arrival, and a near-constant supply of fresh cigarette smoke during the evening hours. So, if you would like a smoke-free room, be SURE to mention that little tidbit on check-in. If it hadn’t been for the smoke issue, I would have gladly given a full five-stars. All-in-all, if you’re going to be staying for more than a day or two in an area with a Candlewood(and they’re all over the place), I highly recommend that you check them out. If the rest of the chain’s locations are anything like this one, I can definitely say with confidence that we will be back.
