Wooooowwwwwiiiiiieeeee! So I’m visiting my great Aunt Ruth who’s about to turn 105 this July 4th and I’m here in Spartanburg SC with some time to kill and I’m starving after the plane ride down. Best best best brisket I’ve EVER had. They do this perfect. .the sauces… all of then… we had the mild the spicy(not spicy at all which is good for me) and the vinegar sauce… wow…all perfect and a great compliment to dipping ur brisket. The baked beans. …they must have been simmering overnight bc they were sooo soft and had bits of meat mixed in for a perfect unique blend. If I could give this place a 6th star I would as the owner was walking around thanking our patronage and topping off our teas. What a nice touch! This place was so good that when or if I come back to Greenville /Spartanburg area u will make sure to make a stop over at Smoky Dreams! Well done, chefs!

Their ribs are HANDSDOWN the BEST ive ever had, and I like ribs. If ribs are on the menu at a restaurant, I get them. Ive ordered there ribs probably almost ten times. Every time they were spectacular. Once I asked my husband to pick them up and they happened to be closed so he ordered from a nearby BBQ place. NOPE. Cant hold a candle to them. And the folks that work there have always been nice, on the phone or in person. My mom told me the brisket is awesome too but i cant stop ordering ribs! Maybe i need to just break down and get both!

Very friendly people running this place. Stopped in tonight and they were almost out of brisket, but offered a taste. The brisket is different than the Texas style we are used to from the initial sample, but will try it again when they have more. Their beans, smoked wings and Mac and cheese are all good. Enjoyed their sauces as well. The only downside was the potato salad. It seemed too warm, which concerned me a little so I passed on eating it. Will try eating here again.

I had the brisket meal, and my wife had the pork sandwich. I’m not a connoisseur, but that brisket is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve had brisket in a much«finer» restaurant in town, and this was, by far, the most moist, it held together(so it wasn’t crockpot roast), and had a really nice charred edge. The potato salad was a very small side, but was so rich it didn’t matter. Her pork was very moist and tasty, and a very ample portion on a good-looking bun. She says this is our favorite BBQ place now, and we have«specialized» in BBQ places! And the management folks are as nice as you would ever meet.

This place was pretty good. I had the ribs and my bf had the brisket. Not sure which I liked better. And the sauces that were given to us(he let us sample all) were great. Thank you!

This is definitely the best barbecue in Greenville. I feel like I can only second what the other reviewers have already pointed out. The people are friendly and treat everyone who comes like family. The food is astonishing. I had the sliced brisket, which is considered one of their specialties. I don’t think I’ve had any that good outside Texas. It certainly doesn’t need any sauces to send you into immediate ecstasy, but turns out this place makes for sauces of their own, and this is the first time I have ever loved all of the sauces at a barbecue joint. The sides were also tasty, and a wonderful combo of down-home and slightly sophisticated. When I want to thank the kitchen, they were humble but clearly gifted, and they insisted that I try samples of their wings and their curried smoked chicken salad. Both were phenomenal, and I don’t think you could go wrong with anything you order at this joint. May they stay open forever, and may other restaurants of all sorts follow in their example.

Family owned & slinging great cue. Ribs, chicken, wings, pulled pork, brisket… Try them all, you can’t go wrong. Sides are great. People are friendly. They catered our daughters first b-day — everyone was more than pleased with the fare. Top notch.

My family and I are regulars. I am obsessed with the chopped chicken, Mac & cheese and sweet potato crunch. My husband is a brisket connoisseur and says he’s never had better. We always finish the meal with the delicious peanut butter pie. The employees always make us feel like family.

If I could give half rating, I would give this place 3.5 stars. We had brisket, ribs, pulled pork, Mac and cheese, and the sweet potato crunch. It was solid BBQ, but forgettable. Everything was average, except the sweet potato casserole– which was phenomenal. Brisket was tender but whatever they do to keep it warm continued to cook it, giving it a pot roast texture/flavor. The ribs were tender and the rub was interesting/unique and tasty. The pork was well cooked, but nothing special. Overall decent BBQ, but nothing special.

Amazing bbq for a great price. I have driven by several times and never stopped. When I finally did it was more than worth it. The brisket is perfectly cooked and the sauce to pair with is awesome. I would recommend it to any friend I bring into town. Shout out to the amazing friendly staff! Keep it up!

Going to Smokey’s is an odd experience. If by some strange circumstance these people treat me if I am family. The nice woman there treats my kids as if they are grandchildren. The owner is always kind and patient. The effort made to make you feel at home is abundant. There is love in these people’s hearts. Sounds cheesy? Don’t talk bad about my BBQ family. The building bares resemblance to a shack, one you would drive by a thousand times and never notice. However that would be your loss. Smokey’s brisket is meat that men have assembled troops to war over. I don’t say this lightly it is beyond amazing and quite possibly the best I ever had. The pork melts in your mouth. The sides are delicious and quite filling. We are lucky to have this eatery here.

Very, very good food. Family owned and very friendly. The owner is one of the nicest guys I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. And the sauces and food have been passed down from his mother and grandmother. Small little building, but very clean!

All of the other reviews are dead on accurate in regard to the food. It is excellent! We tried the pulled pork sandwich and the ribs. Both were outstanding. For sides, we had macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole, slaw, and baked beans. All were excellent. The tea was perfect. The staff was very friendly. They told us about everything on the menu and made sure that we did not want for anything during our meal. We will definitely be going back to try the brisket. Smoky Dreams — check it out for sure!

OMG, best bbq I’ve ever had. Had the bbq sandwich and picked spicy mustard-based sauce. Sides were Mac and cheese and sweet potato crunch.

If I could give a 4.5, I would. I was not really sure how to order because the dining area was separate from where you order. They ere so friendly, I couldn’t hold that against them … The baby backs were some of the meatiest I have ever held in my big hands !!! They were tender… and … tasty. They brought me some brisket to try … You know Franklin’s in Austin, Tx, 4Rivers — Orlando, FL, theres a place in Baldwin, Fl and … Smokey Dreams just misses my Top Three by a hair… a thin hair!!! The brisket is good enough to drive … hmmmmmmm … at least 100 miles OUT-OF-THE-WAY for it! why not a 5??? guess i need to make it a 5 … the sides were ok. the potato salad was very good and I’m peculiar about my potato salad but that’s what i try everywhere — beans & potato salad, so I can compare apples to apples — oranges to oranges. The tipping factor is the family behind this family run eatery! OhMyGawdd — they are great people! You would think they were your long lost classmates that you hadn’t seen since high school on Senior Skip Day and you were the one that skipped class and they went but didn’t snitch on you … They take it over the top for sure … The husband & wife are special people and their sons are good people. I even interviewed one of the sons, Chris, for my on-lins sports radio talk show. He did a good job. Stop … and Enjoy!

This is my first time visiting this location but the food was great. The ribs, mac n cheese and sweet potato crunch were very delicious. The chopped pork, brisket and chicken was very moist and tender. The customer service was amazing. I was given many samples. I will definitely be returning.

Wonderful customer service — extremely friendly! Enjoyed the Chopped Chicken Sandwich with the Smoky Dreams white sauce. Mac-n-cheese and baked beans were also very good. The meal also came with a Sweet Tea. Great prices, great food, and great, friendly, service!

The only thing better than their absolutely awesome BBQ is their super kind and courteous service. I’ve been here twice this week trying both the chopped chicken sandwich and the brisket. Mwah, delicious on both counts. We recently moved to the area and this has been a gem of a find. I will definitely be a regular.

Since moving back to SC we have tried at least 4BBQ places recommended by friends or from lists of «the best». We were never that impressed… until now! This is a family owned tiny place, looks like a red barn, the family were so nice gave samples of everything chatted up the kids, pies made in house from old family recipies. Mac and cheese was slap your mama good. Brisket was the bomb and the chicken wings were fantastic. Both had so much flavor they didn’t need any sauce.
