This place is your average Vietnamese phở restaurant. Their broth was okay but not memorable. The bowl was decent size with a good ratio of noodles to meat. For three bowls of phở, they brought out one plate of veggies, which didn’t seem enough. I wasn’t blown away by my phở, here but if you’re looking to get your kick in, it does the job.

Horrible service. Basically ignored and the waiter can barely speak English with made it impossible to ask any question about anything. I could deal with all that if the food was great. But I didn’t really like it. and the bathroom is horrible. There are tons of better places in Greenville.

I’m torn about this review. Good food, TERRIBLESERVICE! Ask for two glasses of water, they bring one. Order an appetizer, it comes 10 minutes after the main course. Ordered lemonade for the kid and they brought a limeade drink and then charged 3 bucks for it. I spilled a hot cup of tea on the table(and myself) no one was paying enough attention to even offer a cleanup so I cleaned it all with napkins. The topper was, they have new prices but bring you a menu with old rates that you order from. You find out about the price changes when you get your check. And not the cleanest place. My advice is… go to Mekong

Great little Vietnamese restaurant. Although I’m not a huge Vietnamese food expert, I loved my entrée. I had thinly sliced pork served over broken rice — DELICIOUS! Great service.

I gotta say — I love phở. It is a balm against the harsh chilling winds of time; however, this phở place had a soup that smacked of can. I’ve had great authentic phở — and this was not it.

Not a bad phở. Wish they would serve larger portions but their broth and the noodles aren’t too bad. Whenever you have the phở cravings, this spot will satisfy your cravings.

I’m surprised that this place is one of the lower-rated Vietnamese places in Greenville, because I probably had my best bowl of phở in Greenville here. The décor is cleaner and more stylish than most Vietnamese holes-in-the-wall, and the staff is younger and more friendly. We got the 99 special, which has every kind of beef topping — brisket, tenderloin, tendon, and meatball — and all of them were good. The menu is limited to the phở with different toppings, a few other noodle dishes, and spring rolls, but that’s a point in their favor in my opinion.

The phở here has always been on point. The eggrolls are good too. I’ve always ate here even though the lack of water refills and service. The phở is good! Reminds me of other authentic Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to. Just call on the wait staff when its busy to get a refill or more spices. I always bring my own spices anyways. I like my phở red spicy!

In town for business and decided to check this place out. Sad to say but this is the worst Phở ever. It tasted like dirty dishwater.

Great Noodle Soup! Tried the chicken noodle soup(Phở Ga) and Beef Noodle Soup(Dont remember the name). Tasted good, cooked well. Dont go for ambience or service. Just go, get a bowl of soup, pay 8 dollars and get back home happy :) PS: Was served sprouts and fresh basil leaves when we went in. Was not sure how it was supposed to be eaten!

Had lunch with my mom a few weeks back and saw my friend there while we ate. The day after myself, my mom and my friend had terrible food poisoning. It was kind of scary realizing that we all three got food poisoning from eating there on the same day and we even had different soups. I won’t be going back because food poisoning is not fun and I just don’t want to risk getting it again. It’s too bad because I really enjoyed their soup.

This is a great place for authentic Vietnamese food. Before you go, please read so you know what you’re getting yourself into if you decide to try this restaurant. The service isn’t going to be your traditional American waitstaff. If you expect great service, then this isn’t the place for you. The service here isn’t bad service, but it’s just different. You do have to ask the waiter when you need something. Out of water? Just raise your hand and ask your waiter for more or they’ll assume you’re doing fine. Need more spices? Once again, just let the waiter know and he’ll get you some more. Don’t be afraid to ask for anything because they’re really nice. They’re just not used to the American protocol of dining service, so they won’t check on you to see if you’re enjoying your meal. This is very typical of most traditional Vietnamese restaurants. When you’re done eating and ready to pay, you walk up to the cash register and pay up there. They won’t bring you your check. With that being said, I believe you aren’t really required to tip at this place, because I don’t think the waiters work for tips. I assume they’re being paid an hourly wage for their work. If you feel comfortable enough with this type of service, then I suggest you try this place out, because I think the food is really good and cooked fresh.

Food is good, not great. The waiter honestly couldn’t have cared less about us. I would go back if I wasn’t looking for a meal or good service

The waiter was more interested in the football game than in attending me. I had to get up and ask for the menu. Then I had to call him to get a cup of water. Service was subpar but the meal was good. I ordered a seafood Phở with beef broth. It seemed authentic but I’ve had better. I would go back but not during a football game. The place doesn’t look like much from the outside but it’s clean and spacious inside.

I’ve tried many places for Phở(On the west and east coast). But this place is just ok. The Phở tasted alright and service was speedy. I don’t know what it is but this place just lacked some soul. The server was meh and the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. But hey if you only come for the food then bump this up one more star. Otherwise check out Saigon Fast Food on Pleasantburg Dr or Phở#1 on East North Street.

Pro — They bring you fresh veggies for Phở Contra — Service: slow — Dining: room dirty — Restroom: dirty In addition to the General feeling of poor hygiene(which someone could argue is subjective) both me&my wife suffered stomachache&diarrhea the second time we had dinner at Phở-99

Hey! What’s up? Phở 99 is kewl. Especially if you are conscious of your own white privilege and don’t get your knickers in a twist just because you are in the minority and not being fawned over like a priceless treasure and the center of attention. Get over yourself! Tommy’s Ham House is a social club, btw. Nice broken rice platters. Cheaper and better flavor than at Mekong. Clean and not smoky. Several large ventilators on either side of the door but they weren’t on when we were there. Cheesy Asian pop music playing, which is essential. Don’t dig the deafening silence at Mekong. Service was efficient and completely benign. Will go back to check out the phở. Mrow. Thank you I know.
