I was so excited to discover that Val had gone back to her Brazilian roots and opened Paulista Delight. I love the mix of foods she has on her new(and changing) menu. Her take on a Cuban sandwich was so good and was her Brazilian potato salad. She has 2 – 3 tables in the back of The Drop In convenience store. It reminds me of some true Brazilian«mom and pop» places. Took 2 pork tamales home for lunch(one of the Tues. specials) and ended up fighting my son for the right to eat them. Can’t wait to return. Welcome back Val!

Wow, what a great little find near downtown! We stopped in for some takeout, and left with two salgados, which are fried lumps of yumminess stuffed with meat of your choosing. We tried the beef and the pork, both of which were delicious, with the extra-deliciousness award going to the pork. We also tried the tacos, beef and chicken, which are served three to an order and stuffed full, served along with salsa and made extra spicy at your request. All of this for $ 11, and it was more food than we could finish. We’ll definitely be back to try the cambui and feijoada next time. She has daily specials listed on her Facebook page, too.

Oh my goodness! When Paulista Grille closed last year, we were all afraid that we’d lost one of our favorites for good. But she’s back… and right in the heart of our neighborhood! That’s right… she has set up shop in the back of my favorite little corner store(the Drop In store) on North Main, between Earle and Stone. Just blocks from my house! I may never cook again. Honestly, one of the best chef’s around. I’ve had dreams about her beans and rice, which I guarantee are the best you’ve ever had. Go! Get the word out! There are a few tables set up, but better yet grab it to go, with a bottle of wine, and enjoy your meal sitting on your couch, right out of the box. Feel free to skip the glass and drink the wine straight out of the bottle… no one is looking, and I won’t tell…
