Bleh! If you want cheap, over-salted, greasy food then sure, head to Parkers. If you want good ENCBBQ, then go to Moores. What’s up with those tasteless, dry corn sticks???

Always love eating here when I’m in town. Food is delicious and consistent. People are always friendly and helpful. If you haven’t been here it’s worth the trip!

Last time we will eat at Parker’s. My first bite of bbq had a big glob of fat. yuk! Would not recommend the Mac and cheese, either, it was cold and like something out of a box. Very disappointing.

Here for the day and came for lunch. Very friendly counter help. Needed a menu to know what the options were but the lady behind the counter was more than helpful. The BBQ dinner was shredded pork or chicken, 4 small sides and a «bread» which was a choice of either hush puppies or corn sticks. No diet sodas here! Has the lemonade which was great. As for the food, I had the pork which was okay, nothing special and I used the vinegar sauce. It was moist though. The sides were string beans which were good, really great fried okra and a not so good boiled potatoes. Oh and fries which I didn’t eat — I wanted something southern like sweet potato fries or collared greens but no dice. My daughter had the most amazing juicy fried chicken with Mac n cheese. She liked the fries. The corn sticks were like giant fat fries with a corn taste which I found okay and my daughter loved. We both loved the hush puppies, soft and sweet. Stuffed for the day and, to think, only $ 22 for two giant meals! All in all still a four star meal,

Best BBQ ever. This place is busy as can be. The service was great. The staff was patient as I decided what we wanted and we’re eager to answer our questions. I love the food here too.

Worked in Greenville for a day, and when we had time for an afternoon break, my co-worker suggested we eat at Parker’s. Parker’s is counter service, no wait staff. I ordered a barbecue sandwich with macaroni & cheese, and my co-worker ordered a combo plate with barbecue, fried chicken and fries. Orders were ready with minimal wait. Enjoyed the flavor of the barbecue sandwich, with that well known Eastern NC taste. Must be well liked in the area, as we were there around 3 pm and this place was constantly busy. Be aware that the DONOT accept credit or debit cards.

Fantastic! Authentic Eastern NCBBQ restaurant. There are many variations of Barbecue in the US, and eastern NC is one of those unique styles that isn’t done anywhere else. The restaurant was clean and fast to serve us, and the food was very tasty. I want for the combination plate, and the fried chicken took me by surprise. Loved the BBQ, and stew, Hush Puppies were fresh and hot. You could tell the owners were still involved in the business, there was a great deal of attention from the staff, who were friendly and accommodating. Can’t wait for another plate!

Barbecue is average at best, service is quick. The pulled pork tastes like alpo.

specializes in barbecue, which is cooked with gas(better to cook with oak, hickory). barbecue is so-so. We really like their fried chicken. One pleasant surprise that I have discovered lately is their fried oysters & shrimp, actually quite good. Slaw is not real good. Sides are so-so.

I had take-out from here while on vacation. The fried chicken was tasty, crisp and had visible spices in it. The BBQ chicken was boiled perhaps, I have never had chicken like it. It appeared to be boiled in sauce and the meat was very juicy. The cole slaw was awful! I had one bite and that was it. I have never had any that tasted or looked like this did, must be a southern thing. The corn sticks were tasty but nothing special. The boiled potatoes were again not like I had ever seen before. No skin, and they were boiled in bbq sauce. I liked them. The brunswick stew was very good too. I have never had it before and loved the sauce and all the beans.

We Northerners ate here on a road trip in July 2008. We got a bbq sandwich(pork), Brunswick stew, potatoes in tomato sauce, cole slaw, macaroni and cheese, corn sticks(fried), some kind of savory fritters, unsweetened tea, and some kind of deep fried apple pie. I enjoyed everything but my girlfriend disliked the sandwich. It didn’t taste at all like the kind of tomato-y/molasses-y bbq we eat in the north(and other parts of the south), but I still liked it. I liked everything for how different it was from other parts of the country I’ve eaten bbq(Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Chicago). I would definitely stop here again if I was driving through, and I strongly recommend it to tourists like me(no reason to recommend it to people living locally because it was already packed with them!). You order and pick up your food at a main counter(its basically set up like McDonald’s), and they sell a lot of items by the piece or in very small(and cheap) quantities, so you can try just about everything on the menu for not much money(I think our bill was around $ 12). It didn’t seem like they were used to serving tourists so the menu was a bit cryptic to us, but we just asked someone in line about it and of course its the South so she was nice and helped us out.
