McAlister’s Deli

Awesome food and great service… I will for sure come back the next time I am in town… Reasonable prices with quality food.

Have to give a huge shout out to Jacob at this location. We tried to visit the location on Congaree but they were out of spuds! I know… crazy but I called the Woodruff Rd store and spoke to Jacob who assured me that not only did they have plenty of spuds but he took our order over the phone and it was ready when we arrived. #freakingawesome that’s the way business should be done.

I ordered my food online so it can be ready for pick up. When I got there, they couldn’t find my order. When they finally found it, they got it together and everything was fine. The bad part was when it came to my salad. My lettuce was so bad that it was icy, frozen and almost like jello. The leafs were transparent. You can tell it was old. I called and the manager gave me a free meal but that really left a bad experience. I doubt I’ll ever go back for that meal. The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because the manager was nice.

This is a little outdated on the inside compared to some of the others I go to, but the staff is extremely friendly and I love coming here. The food is great. I always order the ultimate nachos and they are great. This is my go to place when I am traveling for work. I will continue to come here!

My order was placed at 12:52 and delivered at 1:23…
Over ½ a hour of wait time for a simple lunch (2 hot dogs with a side of chips for my son and a sandwich with a side of mac&cheese for me).
That’s right. The kicker is that the place was only about ¼ full yet ½ the tables were cluttered with the residue of prior customers. If this was not a pre-​pay establishment I would have walked out.
To top it all off the food was simply average.
First and last visit & I will not recommend this restaurant yo anyone.

Clean deli and friendly service.
Lots of seating and parking.
I got take out. Club sandwich was top shelf.
Soup was also very good
Savannah salad was like a healthy Thanksgiving meal.

This is one of the *best* McAlisters in the chain. The food comes out fast, and the staff double check to-​go orders right in front of you (they literally open the boxes with you standing there, showing you exactly what you will be taking home). This should become standard practice at all McAlisters, because orders can get complicated.
I can tell they have a great GM here. This location «feels» clean. Parking is in their private lot, and it’s free.
Would recommend grabbing a cookie while you wait for your food to be delivered to your table. They are made right in the store, same day.
Highly recommend this particular location.

Unprofessional staff and dirty restaurant. A group of 10 of us went on a slow Monday night. They managed to get 4 of our orders wrong– one order they got wrong twice! Two of the orders that were wrong were a completely different menu item than what we ordered. In addition to the wrong orders, one of us was served cold Mac n cheese and one had raw carrots in our spud that were not cooked as they are supposed to be. One order took a really long time to remake as well– because one employee dropped four entrees coming out of the kitchen after ours. One employee managed to say sorry. The rest did not blink an eye. We asked to speaker with a manger — who, like the rest of the staff appeared to be 18 or younger. We told him our complaints and he immediately gave excuses such as «we are short staffed and one of my guys has the flu». We had to ASK for him to do something for us for our trouble– he offers some free desserts– we had a birthday cake on the table! So we asked for something else and he brings out two free meal cards– one of them being only partially stamped– thanks ALOT. As we were leaving, one of the 5 other tables in the whole restaurant received an incorrect order as well. We couldn’t get out of there fast enough!

A price hike since my last time in… Losing customers fast enough. What happened to the stronger days of this place?

I love the reuben sandwich at McAlister’s and I always look for this deli whenever I travel. So I have been to many McAlister’s across southern states. Like all the others, this place was clean and friendly. Unfortunately, the reuben was not great. Toast was burned and the pickle was broken/​smashed into 2 pieces. It was like eating a sandwich with bits of charcoal… Hopefully it was just an off day.

Surprise… another chain… and I am surprisingly neutral here… I would not choose to dine here often… or for dinner… or for any reason other than I am trapped in the car and put on the spot for a neutral place for the work crowd…
So, the joint is efficient… no one seems to wait on their food for a lengthy amount of time and everyone looks like they get exactly what the menu says… it’s not particularly flavorful or memorable… it is served in an appropriate «work lunch time» at a «work lunch price»…
I chose to play it safe with one of their «spuds»…(and yes, they call them that on the menu)…the bacon and cheese it was for me… it was rather large… kind of like two potatoes had a head-​on collision in the kitchen… and it was just that… a giant baked potato with bacon and cheese… although they could have added a bit more bacon to balance the cheese…
Overall I left wondering who could finish that hunk of potato and with a giant plastic cup full of half-​and half tea, as I can’t seem to get the hang of drinking tea so sweet it could make my dentist blush…
