Before I start: I’ve been traveling and staying in motels every night for the last ten days. There’s always someone with high standards, complaining because a motel isn’t the four seasons. Yet I’ve found all bar one of those prior motels just fine. This one, however, is everything you worry about with motels. They make you take a code of conduct list with you(seems more like a halfway house). They have a list of banned patrons displayed at the front desk. They have a curfew. The room STINKS of cigarettes and chemicals. The bedding has stains. The TV hutch has a door ripped off. The TV has incorrectly named channels and only basic cable compared to the expanded cable every single other motel seems to have these days. The walls have weird dark marks. The peephole on the door is punched out so there’s just a hole to the hallway and passers by can stare in at you. The sink has all kinds of stains. As does the toilet. And the bathroom walls. And the tub. The mirror is covered in splotches and has a chunk missing from the corner. I’m lying on the bed to type this… And itching. And, for what it’s worth, I blame Google. I searched for an Econo Lodge. I’ve had great experiences with them. Google swore this was an Econo Lodge even though its an Economy Inn. I was tired and paid before I saw/smelled the room. Thanks Google. Checked Unilocal and no reviews warning people, either. Doing what I can to fix that.
