My family drives 45 minutes just to eat at Dragon Fly. It’s hard to find good Chinese food so when we came across this place we hadn’t been to another one since. The food is always fresh and very good. We love it!

Well… Several years ago this place was much better. We keep trying it and each time it gets worse. The last time we ordered take out we arrived to pick up our order. The guy behind the bar openly admitted that they had accidentally made orange chicken Instead if general Taos chicken. Nice. Except fi the fact that he followed it by asking us if we wanted him to make the correct meal and oh by the way, it would take 15 minutes. Ha! We said no, we would take the incorrect meal. We got home and opened the bag and there was NO sweet and sour sauce for our sweet and sour chicken. What a waste of money. We r done with this place.

I ordered a Sesame Chicken dinner combo with an egg roll… and had to brush my teeth after my meal(that I didn’t finish) because of how much sugar was in the sauce. I would agree with the Unilocaler that said that, «Their sesame chicken does not taste generic,» but only because generic sauces aren’t loaded with that much sugar? The rice and egg roll were fine, but I’ll never go back to this place. It’s just about never that I don’t want to finish a meal. The place was empty for a reason… I’m surprised that it has good reviews for food. Perhaps I should have ordered something else?

Very disappointed. The menu looked promising with some more authentic dishes listed. We ordered takeout. When we got back to the room and opened the container we discovered that the food was scorched. People can have different opinions on what does and does not taste good. But burned is burned. The dish was a brownish grey and smelled burned. The cook had to have known this when he boxed the dish. We called the restaurant for a refund of the dish. We were told to bring it back in and they may fix another for us. I’m not giving them the chance. Stay away.

This is good Chinese food. However, the last two times we got take out we did not get… egg rolls… the first time and rice with egg foo young the next. I don’t really give a rats ass how good food is if I don’t get what I ordered. Done with this place.

Best Chinese food around! Their sesame chicken does not taste generic. It is amazing. The dumplings are great!

My fellow conference participants headed over to Dragon Fly to have dinner this past Sunday, Feb 24th. There were 10 of us and we were easily seated right away. The server was attentive, friendly, and had no issues tending to our needs. Little crackers with duck sauce were placed on the table for us to much on while we looked at the menu. They had quite an array of selections on their menu from appetizers, vegetarian dishes, poultry, seafood, and more. The prices were really good too. I ordered an egg roll, Kung Pao Chicken, and a glass of Pinot Grigio. I wasn’t impressed with the egg roll, but the Kung Pao Chicken was really, really good! It had the perfect amount of spice and proportion of peppers, celery, carrots, chicken, peanuts, and a few other tidbits. The steamed white rice was fluffy and made just right. My Pinot Grigio was very good. All those at the table really enjoyed their entrees as well. I wish I’d known about this spot when I lived in Greenville as an undergrad, but having dinner there with some professors who live there year around confirmed that this is definitely a spot to hit up regularly. One of them even admitted that she and her husband get takeout from Dragon Fly every week! It’s really cool that their website allows you to place an order online as well. I don’t think they do delivery though. Next time I’m in Greenville and craving Chinese I’d definitely hit up Dragon Fly again. Most enjoyable and very affordable as well.

Rated one of the top 100 Chinese takeout restaurants in the U.S. in 2011, and deservedly so. This is some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. The general chicken is all white meat and still crispy even in the sauce. The rice is always fluffy and perfectly cooked. It’s never sticky. When my little boy turned four his grandparents came to take him to lunch. You can imagine the surprise when he requested Dragon Fly instead of somewhere like McDonald’s. Definitely give them a try.
