Dr. Mac Arnold’s Blues Restaurant

Outstanding Sunday Brunch!!! (Open Sunday from 11:30 to 3 pm which is info critically missing from Unilocal.)
I had the baked chicken which was craft-​fully roasted and had hint of herbs and spice that was savory.
I chose the following 3 sides–
Cornbread casserole which was also a very tasty treat.
Outstanding caddied yams & very good southern style Mac & cheese. Along with sweet tea this meal is the kind of meal you normally get on holidays from the southern finest kitchens.

Enjoyed Mac Arnold’s. The venue and music were great and I plan to go back a number of times but there is still some work to do for this blues joint to reach its full potential.
The pros
— great music. if you like blues — Mac will ensure top notch acts
— great venue. nice site lines large bar. fun location off of downtown
–Food. The food is actually a separate business that is connected. I call it Mexican Fusion. you order at a window and they bring it out to you
Cons — and these are all trying to be constructive
— lighting. You can’t have a blues club with the lights full on. You need to be able to dim the lights as the night goes on. unfortunately, the lighting doesn’t seem to allow this. I really hope they get this right or they won’t have people staying late
— food service. food is great but takes close to an hour from order to when they bring it to the table… that wouldn’t be so bad is not for —
— Bar service. This will be their downfall if they don’t recognize it. They had a large bar with plenty of room to order drinks. Either someone called in sick or they felt they only need one bar tender but it was near impossible to get drinks and everyone at the bar seemed to be sitting with empty glasses. I wouldn’t mind waiting for my food but when I can’t get a drink…
We will give it one more shot — and if the bar service was an anomaly, this will be a 4 star review. If they stick with the one bar tender concept — i would not recommend a visit.

Don’t eat the food! I’m not picky but this is the worst food I have ever eaten. We had three hungry people in our party and we all went home hungry.
