It is pricey. Keep that in mind. It was excellent. The tuna appetizer was so freaking good. It was part of the trio appetizer. The crab cakes were small but tasty too. I got the 12 oz ribeye and mushroom and the Ceasar salad. It was all top notch.

I used to come here a lot when I worked in this territory. I am visiting for a week and decided to get back to my stomping grounds. The happy hour specials at the bar are a pretty good deal and the food is generally good. I usually get appetizers but this time I splurged for an entrée. I got the pecan crusted chicken and it was probably some of the best chicken I have ever had. I thought and wanted it to be grilled but it was fried with pecans around the outside and topped with fresh chopped pecans. Juicy and tender and delicious. The green beans were tired and old, the baked potato was good, and the salad was also pretty tasty. I would recommend to anyone.

Planned a small high school reunion gathering at the last minute and the service was above and beyond considering half the group did not show up and I ended up footing 75% of the bill. The staff was very kind and they understood my humiliating experience. You cannot put a price on that.

Had the black and blue dish. Was steak medallions with blue crab on top. That was cooked perfect. Was soft and juicy. The crab added a great flavor. Wait staff was awesome and attentive. Would definitely suggest this place for dinner.

This was our first time here. We were at first turned off by the prices. Then we selected prime rib and salmon for the twins and the portions and quality was great. The other selections were fish & chips, steak and crab and another steak. The quality was great and everyone liked the flavor. The server DOUG was great! We would come again.

CityRange took care of a large party for us. We did call in advance, and they made a modified menu for us to choose from. The food was good. My prime rib was over cooked, but still tasty. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Place could use some updating, but the food was good and that is what counts.

Nothing special about this place. The appetizers were great but the entrée was mediocre. The wait for was long and the place was empty.

Arrived at 7:30 for a 7:30 reservation. We saw a table for five available but were told it was for a reservation not us because we were a call ahead which was not true. We made a reservation for five at 7:30. Finally 30 minutes later we were seated at a table and noticed the other table still empty. Food was okay. However the city supper ribeye is not worth the price. No flavor and less than ¼″ thick. Hostesses were not pleasant and the server made snide comment concerning our wait.

Everything was just blah. There were a lot of things that sounded good but ended up just being underwhelming. We ordered the Buffalo Shrimp, which had obviously been made with frozen shrimp, and we ordered the Pimento Sliders, which had unseasoned previously frozen patties. The only really good thing was the happy hour drink prices, but even then the drinks were a little sweet and under poured. I don’t think we will go here again.

Sunday brunch was delightful. My husband had the prime rib special, and I had the steak wedge salad. Both were very good. Excellent service. And the live music was a nice touch.

Bang Bang and Jazz! There are few places in Greenville where you can go on a Sunday afternoon, listen to live jazz music, and eat mouth watering delicious food. Cityrange is one of those places. We pass it almost every Sunday, and we have never stopped. Today however, while going through the usual«I don’t know», «what do feel like», and«it doesn’t really matter», we spotted a sign that said Sunday Jazz brunch. Me: «Ok Cityrange, you got my attention, let’s see if you can deliver.» CR: «Challenge accepted!» As we walked in, we were greeted by the swizzy relaxing sounds of jazz and the delicious aromas of beef on a grill. Once seated, our waiter, a super friendly and knowledgable dude, happily suggested that we start out with the cinnamon beignets. Now I’m not one for going for the up sale, but in this case, I’m more than happy that we did. The table split an order of these warm, powdered sugar donuts. It was like eating a cloud. A cloud with cinnamon, that forces you, really, you can’t help it, to forego all table manners and yes, lick your fingers. Next up, we were served yeast rolls, and these delicious melt in your mouth pillows of bread topped with melting cinnamon butter do not disappoint. After much deliberation over the brunch menu, I consulted the waiter between two choices, and he assured me that I would not go wrong with the Bang Bang Burger. Now let me say this, I don’t really have burgers a lot, but when I do, I have high expectations. And my meat better come from a cow or a combination of delicious veggies, not left over cardboard and worm meat *coughs McDonalds cough*. As I was saying, this 100% angus beef patty is topped with pepper jack cheese, thick quality bacon, a sunny side up egg, and a sundried tomato aioli. It has the perfect amount of spice. I ordered mine medium and that’s exactly how it was cooked. Not to long, but just right. The first bite was an explosion of flavorful juices. I closed my eyes, listened to the jazz floating through the air, and in that one moment, the world was at peace. Pageant queens everywhere rejoice! The burger was paired with skillet potatoes, cooked with onions and peppers. A perfect pairing! Half way through our meal, we were already planning what we will get next(Apple bourbon French toast for me). Stop in, drink a mimosa, listen to some jazz, and enjoy whatever delicious entrée you decide on!

8oz ribeye was almost paper thin. Gentleman next to me returned his NY strip. Not worth the money. Service was the only thing that was good.

Update– talked to the owner/operator and I feel that he sincerely wanted to provide a much better experience. He said he valued the feedback and appreciated informed customers. It was a very good conversation, and I appreciate his interest in providing great hospitality. I think it was a learning experience for everybody, and we agreed to give them another shot. He invited us to ask for him personally next time in, and I’m sure we will. 15 years I had been going to City Range. Had been a real go-to. NEVER again. 55 minutes to get the entrée and the server admitted his error was in data entry, but made no effort to adjust the tab. By that time, we really didn’t want a «free dessert». Walked out paying full tab, and it’s the last one they’ll see from us. Clear our business of 15 years wasn’t important, surprised in that we had been at the bar with this server SEVERAL times before. Lots of other choices to choose from, and we will. Totally disappointed.

Upon a friend’s recommendation we had dinner there with another friend we were visiting in town. As soon as we walked in(on a thursday night) we were asked loudly if we had a reservation. We said no, and were promptly showed to a nice booth. Décor was nice, but acoustics very difficult for conversation. My rib eye– way too salty and bland. Prime rib– undercooked for medium Fish– also salty and uninspired sides. I’ve had better meals at diners.

This is an outstanding place to have a business dinner or romantic night out. Parking is free and abundant in their private lot. Call ahead seating is encouraged, especially for large parties or on the weekends. Food is unique and scrumptious. I’m not a salad guy, but they have some excellent salad choices. On Sundays, they have a la carte brunch. Entrees on a typical day range from steak to pasta, and all of it has a fresh taste. There is a gas fireplace in the middle of the restaurant that really adds to the ambiance in the winter. There is also a private room in the back that seems to be very popular. They really do a great job taking care of large groups. I would say this is a middle aged crowd, primarily because of the prices. Supper will run about $ 50 for a couple, lunch will run about $ 30 for a couple. I’m in my late 20’s, and that doesn’t keep my wife and I away! Highly recommend.

I was really impressed when I first walked through this restaurant. Nice central fireplace and relaxed spacious atmosphere. The food is well prepared and the flavors were on point.

What happened to this place? We were there Saturday night. The place is still amazing but the food not so much. Make sure your teeth are as strong as a paper shredder if you order the pork chops. The sirloin tails were below average and overcooked. Food — Not what it used to be. Service — Still excellent! Ambiance — Very nice, it takes you back to a ski resort in Whistler. Alcoholic drinks — Nah, stick to beer.

City Range has been a place in which I have enjoyed eating at for 7 years or so. Through work events, we have had a few group functions here which have been celebrated and festively successful. I’ve dined here also with friends on other occasions in which all was good. The determination of a good restaurant is consistency in which City Range in my opinion does a admirable job. Recently I have come to have dinner with friends and we know that the menu is solid, has some great options and they do a great jobs with steaks. Before I had ordered my dinner however I asked if they still served the chocolate volcano cake. Our server nodded and said yes of course! I then proceeded to the two crab cakes with a Caesar salad. The Caesar was lighter, not too garlicky and fresh. Crab cakes were large and generous. Not very fishy(or crabby more to speak) tasting often the case with less fresh crab meat! The chocolate volcano has to rank up there near the top of desserts in which I enjoy! It’s a warm mess of chocolate(not too sweet) with a big serving of vanilla ice cream! You scoop some ice cream then get some of the molten chocolate and man… damm good is an understatement. Seriously it’s such a good way to end off a meal! Ambiance of the restaurant is warm and has a nice central fireplace that gets lit when it gets colder out. Service was adequate professional and no issues. It’s good to have restaurants like this on the list as you know what to expect and in life at times this is good!

City Range is a terrific place for inexpensive cocktails and appetizers between 4:00 and 8:00. And if you are so incline, you can enjoy dinner in the bar area — like I did with my friends. The grilled chicken pesto flat bread appetizer is quite tasty, and I highly recommend the Cosmo. Yum! For dinner, I shared a plate with a friend — the Black and Blue Medallions. Fortunately, my friend and I like our steaks medium — awesomely delicious entrée comes with a nice crab cake and mashed potatoes & asparagus. The staff are that greet you are super friendly and the waitress and waiters attentive. The bartender is talented and consistently makes a perfect cocktail.

I’ve been here a few times now and this is what I have to say … It’s big — it’s clean — staff is friendly — service is a tad slow and the value is decent. If you go not expecting too much — you will love it, but if you go expecting some of the best meats you’ve had — you probably won’t be too impressed. Everything was ok, but the value isn’t there — small portions and the deserts are nothing great either. There are SO many other places to try — I’m make a note not to go back here for awhile!
