FANTASTIC, AMAZING, AWESOME, PROFESSIONAL! Those are just a few of the things that come to mind after my experience at this sophisticated salon.
I moved to Greenville 7 months ago and have struggled to find a stylist that fit me, until one fateful day. My originally scheduled stylist had to cancel last minute and I was in dire need of cut and color before my trip to Mexico, luckily I called this salon and was ecstatic to find out that they had a slot available in the afternoon.
The salon is upscale but doesn’t feel stuffy or stuck up, exactly the opposite, it maintains a friendly and relaxed environment with a gorgeous décor. My stylist, Rachel, really listened to what I was looking for and knew the right questions to ask (since Im usually horrible at communicating what I’m looking for at a salon this really stood out to me). She was meticulous and I could tell that she is very passionate about making sure her clients get an amazing look, not to mention she has great relaxed personality and makes you feel at ease in her chair.
I have never been happier with my cut and color and I’m so happy I found her and this Salon!

I usually don’t write reviews. I am the person who never cares about money when it comes to hair. I always get the best stylist in the saloon with the best products. I had my services scheduled with the owner Christopher Maddox and he performed cut and highlights on my hair. The hair cut was alright. It costed me $ 110. At the beginning he asked me about my expectations and then he started rambling about hair care and when I tried to talk he would go in complete different directions and start talking on his own. I was very clear I wanted full highlights and he started using his haircut terms and said we use our unique hair painting procedure…(FYI what every hi end saloon would use for highlights). Only asked me what color I wanted and I said brown gold and did not even bother to show me the color chart. He mixed up the color on his own and literally did not bother to understand what I wanted. I wanted a bright gold brown hair color and instead ended up with ashy faded brown. Once the hair was blow-​dried and washed I realized one left side of my hair had a lot more hair color than the right side. Literally bright ashy brown on right and the other side looked black. Although I am not a person likes to argue unnecessarily so I decided to go home. The lighting in the saloon is very poor, as I went home I realized he did not even cover my greys on top. I just have like 5 grey hair on top of my head where he performed highlights. So now one side of my hair looks brown grey and black and the other looks grey and black. The next day I received an email from the saloon saying if I am not happy with the service I can return within 10 days and have it fixed, so I decided to give it a shot. I emailed him and explained why I was not happy and instead of apologizing his response was «THERE WILL ALWAYS BE VARIATION IN THE COLOR». I paid 325 bucks plus 15 bucks tip so there would NOT be variation in the color. And instead he replied back saying I didn’t think anything was uneven, if you don’t want to fix the problem why ask? If you like your hair and you spend a good bit DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR COLOR, because as they said «we do not cover greys as it wasn’t mentioned as an expectation» why would anyone get a hair color/​highlights to show off their grey hair? I have gotten hair colors from 140 — 500 and I have to say my faded highlights from my pervious hairstylist whom I paid 200 looked a lot better than his piss poor job. You’d be better off getting haircut from someone cheaper and still get better results. Basically the place is good for ambiance, and free drinks. If you want a decent hair color/​highlights anything DO NOT ATTENDE THIS PLACE. Last but not the least I made it clear I wanted full highlights but instead of listening to me he performed a partial highlight procedure on me, HE DOES NOT LISTEN TO WHAT HIS CLIENTS WANTS. WANTS TO DO HIS OWN THING. So if you have a mind of your own and want a stylist who would listen to you do not attend with him.

This place started out wonderful. My first visit included good drinks (I’m a sucker for that), a great facility and atmosphere, and one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. However, after booking my next appointment, my hair stylist unexpectedly and suddenly quit. I was rescheduled with another stylist, but only the day before my appointment (they had known the other woman had quit for a few weeks). The second haircut was by the owner’s wife, and I was equally impressed and happy with the experience, and willing to forgive the questionable leave and re-​scheduling. I really enjoyed the owner’s wife’s services, and I rescheduled with her for several months down the line. Then, an hour before my next appointment, I got a call rescheduling me with the owner, because the wife wasn’t going to come in. I was wary of this, because not only was this a last minute decision *again*, but he is used to charging way more than I was willing to pay. Although he cut my hair for the same amount of money in this situation, it was my perception of the situation that he did not think that I deserved his best service.
When I arrived for this fateful last appointment, he was servicing 3 women (including me) at the same time. The excuse was that the other stylist had an emergency and he was filling in. There was only one other customer and stylist in the establishment, and he was «taking care» of the other three of us. Not only did I feel utterly neglected, I was pushed into some highlights that I couldn’t even tell I had gotten when it was all over. The price was ridiculous, especially for this appalling level of service offered. When the cut, color, and style was over, my hair looked embarrassingly horrible. When I protested, I was brushed off. Furthermore, I pointed out something that is always an issue for me when I get my haircut, and the gist of what I was told was that I was imagining things and to get over it. I could have gotten the same treatment, cut, and color at Fantastic Sam’s for ¹⁄₆ of the price. Not only that… but all this color and attention, and I came home and saw 2 gray hairs. Probably from the anxiety caused by this visit alone. But they should have been highlighted.

The customer service was above and beyond and the attention to detail was exceptional!

I was so unimpressed with this place. The pricing is outrageous. I had them do my color for me, which was a dark espresso auburn color and initially they told me they «didn’t keep colors like that in the salon.» Who doesn’t keep that color in a salon? They left the color on for only 15 minutes and it had rinsed out in a week. Lame! There are much better places you can go that will do a much better job and cost way less.

Another great haircut at CAS! This time w/​Erin. Go see her. She was great.

I’m never disappointed here… they all know what they’re doing! Just being there is relaxing too!
