Very rude, condescending back-room female manager/decorator. It’s a good thing she is in the back room, as she has no customer service skills whatsoever to be out front dealing with customers. The nice girl working the front counter was pleasant and attentive. Perhaps the rude female in the back should take socialization classes. The frosting/icing was too heavy and grainy. I think she needs to work on her icing and her personality. I did not enjoy the experience at this bakery.

We ordered a 6 inch cheesecake with strawberries. It was delicious!!! It was silky smooth and very filling. They do put a border of frosting on it, it pretty much takes away from the cheesecake taste, we simply scraped it off and the cheesecake was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for cheesecake. They have a pretty extensive menu with fudge, pastries and sandwiches. We haven’t tried anything else yet, but will definitely be back to try more.

Came here for my husband’s birthday for chocolate cake. It was wonderful! He chose the German chocolate and I «helped him» devour a large slice of moist, tender chocolate cake with rich buttercream frosting and coconut frosting. Absolutely perfect! He ordered coffee which was hot and freshly made. This place is fabulous and we will be back!

If you care about good service definitely don’t waste your time at Buttercream… I have been on a gluten and sugar free diet, but decided to splurge on this place for Valentine’s Day with my husband. We live nearby and were excited to check out a bakery we could someday potentially frequent. We walked in and were the only customers. We ordered our food at the counter and found a seat. There weren’t many options, but enough for us both to find something we were interested in. When our food and coffee was delivered, we began our journey into what we hoped to be heaven on earth. I purchase a Gouda croissant and leek and Parmesan pastry. The leek and Parmesan was tasty the gouda croissant left a lot to be desired. My husband ordered an individual blackberry cheesecake(his favorite). He went to slide the fork in and it was like a brick wall. The freaking cheesecake was frozen solid… I wanted to approach the counter but the male counterpart was no where to be found and the lady was with a client who arrived shortly after us. After the lady shouting to him that as new customer was at the counter he finally made his way back. Once he had helped the customer he left again. I was starting to get impatient as I wanted to let them know their cheesecakes were frozen… Finally after the lady finished with her consultation I was able to approach her. I very delicately let her know that our cheesecake was frozen. She looked at me «deer in headlights» and said«Oh that shouldn’t be, I’ll have to check the temperature on the case.» She then walked to the back of the store leaving me at the counter. I’m sorry did I miss something??? Either you don’t make your cheesecakes in-house and are trying to front like you do, or by a small mistake the case was turned down too low. Nonetheless a simple apology would have done the trick. We didn’t expect anything in replacement, just as a courtesy wanted to let her know the situation… much thanks we got. After that experience I started to get a bit upset. We are again the only people in the bakery and we were not being acknowledged. We quickly finished a last bite or 2 and headed out. No bye or thank you was conveyed. I left feeling very unimportant and overlooked. The food was ok but the experience, especially on Valentine’s Day, was so off-putting. Not to mention my husband was totally embarrassed that he brought me there for what was suppose to be a delicious and romantic start to our first Valentine’s Day as a married couple. Take it from us don’t go to Buttercream Bakery unless you pick something up to go. The owners clearly don’t care about their customers and there are numerous overall better options in the downtown Greenville area that do.
