I made a reservation online for a non smoking room. When I went to check in. I was told My reservation was for smoking. I presented the print out of my reservation which showed«non-smoking» The clerk said she had just rented the last non-smoking 5 minute earlier. After going back and forth for 10 minutes, she said the people had just«called», they weren’t even there! I said«you rented my room room that I had reserved 3 days earlier over the phone 5 minute ago, I’m here now.» She finally agreed to let me have the non-smoking room. The 2nd night I was kept awake until 12:30am with some odd noise and people walking back and forth in the room above. Then awakened again at 4:30 am with the same back and forth walking and the floor creaking. When I checked out, the clerk asked how everything was. I explained what had happened the night before with the noise, she said«Oh, that’s the jacuzzi room, we don’t normally rent 103(my room) if someone is in the jacuzzi room.»

Old, semi-clean, VERY used furniture and not in a good way. Coffee tastes watered down and the continental breakfast consists of wheat or white bread for toasting, cereal, 1 flavor of yogurt, and Danish in cellophane. I will say that the staff is very nice, but understaffed. I’d recommend it as a place to just stay a night while on the road and not expecting anything special.

The smell of smoke was the first thing I didn’t like about the room. It was a non-smoking room. The air conditioning fan only work on auto, so the room was cold and then hot and then cold. The walls and ceiling are paper thin. At 3am I was awoke to the sound of running back and forth in the room above us. I didn’t get any sleep all night between the air conditioning and the noise. I will not stay here again. It may be cheaper than the surrounding hotels, but I will pay more so I can sleep.

I can tolerate the few flea bites I got and the musty smell when I first walked into the room. I can even tolerate the slightly dingy feel to the hotel. BUT when I pay $ 80/night to stay in a Super 8, I do expect to be able to sleep. AND the booming music from the bar next door did not allow me to do any of that before 2 a.m. I know the hotel can’t really control it, but the night worker kind of laughed off my concern too. SO if you must stay here, ask for a room facing the parking lot, not the back of the hotel. Otherwise, find a hotel a few blocks away.
