After flying on a red eye from SF to Pittsburgh, trying to kill time and taking short naps in the car, my family and I arrived at this Comfort Inn in Greensburg. We made the overpriced reservation a month before($ 140 per night), and tried to check in a little early at 1:00pm. When we got there, there was ONE other car in the parking lot. The lady at the front desk(manager, Sue) revealed the chip on her shoulder in short order when I asked to check in two hours early. She said that the«rooms» weren’t ready yet. One other car in the parking lot on Thursday night, and you don’t even have ONE room available to check in early? It was amazing that she treated us as if we were stupid. Absolutely poor customer service. However, we decide to go eat(again), and come back at 2:00, since that was the time that they would likely have a room available in their bustling hotel. When we came back, a MUCH friendlier, accommodating, customer service oriented person(Linda), was at the front desk. She noticed our rate was too high, and proceeded to reduce it to $ 99.00 per night for the three nights we were staying. She asked the manager, Sue, if she could do that, and Sue said«I don’t see or hear anything» then walked away. Good move. When we came back through with our luggage, it appeared that Manager Sue was reprimanding Linda. Wow. If it weren’t for Linda, we would’ve left that place. Funny thing is, if Sue had any customer service skills whatsoever, we would’ve gotten in two hours before check in, and probably would not have worried about the blatant overcharge for this hotel. THAT was poetic justice at it’s best! It’s only because of Linda, that we would ever consider staying at the Comfort Inn in Greensburg again.

Our second stay here; and I wasn’t as impressed. The tub didn’t drain and was dirty. Their excuse was that they had a foreigh exchanged maid. So the next time I will check the tub and room out better.
